  1. Yeah that's the programme that I've been using, it always saves the files as way too big. Previously I've just had to save it as a JPG and convert it with an online programme and that has worked fine in the past But with this one it makes the whole thing opaque.
  2. Is there a programme I can use to convert files into that format? I noticed that the background changes when I convert it so I was wondering if it was that, its a diffuse fur texture file so it has that sort of translucent element to it which goes when I convert it That's the frustrating thing, it did, I'm not sure if it was exactly right but something certainly showed up, and it showed up again in creationkit when I made a new race for the model but then as soon as I went off that task box and made a new actor using that race it stopped showing up in the previews and the actor appeared invisible when placed in a cell Thank you for the response btw :)
  3. Hi, I've been trying to do what I assumed would be a very simple retexture mod. I've been trying to make a white elk. As there is a white stag in game which uses as far as I can tell the same base shape as the elk in the diffuse dds I literally copied across the body from the white stag onto the elk diffuse file on paint.net and then converted it back into a dds. I cannot for the life of me get this to show up in game. I've tried: - creating a new race, skin + actor in creation kit the new actor is just invisible in CK - creating a new model and texture file (copy + renaming base elk files) and reassigning the texture in nifscope. same as above - literally just naming the new dds file the same as the one that elk models use currently and putting it in the texture folder elks just have vanilla texture in game - just renaming the white stag texture file to the elk texture and putting it in the texture folder same as above IDK if I'm just doing something really stupid that I'm missing but I would appreciate any help!
  4. Just realised I've posted this in the wrong forum
  5. So a relatively small (and hopefully straightforward) question. I'm trying to do some simple retextures (not a big modder, just starting out) and I can't for the life of me work out where the textures are for the vanilla rugs. There are 14 regular rugs but I can only find 8 textures called rug (excluding the round ones) and these dont seem to correspond with the the respective model. I haven't extracted the models and was hoping to avoid that for the time being so I would be really grateful if someone knew the answer to this question Thanks :)
