i am using the very first oblivion and not GOTY edition

hi, when ever i try installing an oblivion patch it always says "old file not found however a new file with the same name was found so no update because files dont match" ive tried all the differnt patches for the usa english version of oblivion wich is what my oblivion game is so sombody pleassssseee help

the error i get is the one about the old file missing but a new one of the same name was found

when ever i try to install a patch it never works.so far ive tryed all of the patches for (usa)english and none work and ive checked that my game is usa english so somebody plz help me
