The DT system forces you to be a bit more aware of what you need to use to kill enemies. Cazadores aren't bad as long as you have HP ammo. Stock up some 9mm HP ammo and the SMG in the doc's office and you probably can make a Vegas run early on.

After reading that ending they left out, I wish Obsidian would have left the NCR-House lives ending.

As a simple addition, giving a few NCR troops (maybe an elite unit) combat armor would really be a nice touch. I'm surprised that the only group using large amounts of it were the Van Graffs. Next to the BoS if anyone should have combat armor units, it should be the NCR. Also, as a random encounter of running into a group of bandits wearing it would also go along well.

As others have said, start small. Consider making the houses outside of megaton livable. Right off the bat have some families in Springvale. Maybe if you're ambitious there could be a quest dealing with some antagonism between Megaton and Springvale.

Instead of doing some merc stuff, make it possible to gift that survivalist bunker to big town, so they get some decent gear. Or, you could have that ammo press in the bunker, and if you gift the bunker, they hire mercs to protect big town with ammo sales profit (maybe give them a merchant too). Of course, you could always just keep the bunker, and have an ammo press in the capitol wasteland.

The word fascist is thrown around way too much in here. Not everyone is a teenarchist, so use it right. Autumn is not using extreme nationalism to end class disputes, end of story. The concept of killing or imprisoning your opposition is not fascist: it's totalitarian, or being an asshat if it's a one time thing. If you really want to give the enclave a political definition, they are a right wing technocracy. Autumn, that's a good question. I wish, there would have been an ending if you were killed by autumn of what happened afterwards. But, I don't get what would be wrong with a strong dictatorship bringing order to the capitol wasteland. It's better than baby eaters, and out of control mutants running everything.
