    Windows Vista/7's UAC can cause problems with FO3 mods if installed to the Program Files directory. First, run FOMM as an admin (it's in the right-click menu). If that doesn't work, You might consider reinstalling FO3+mod stuff to a different directory, if you haven't already. (for example: C:/My Games/Bethesda Softworks/Fallout 3.)

    it's said that the viruses came trough the ad banners, so why are there ad banners ?

    probably because of the money you get for them, that is actually stupid, you get money to be infected afterwords..

     

    or is the nexus hosted on a free server where you get the banners with it, i thought this was a private server, so why the banners, call me stupid, but i am curious...i would throw them out quickly..

    Because this site is very expensive to maintain. You have the dedicated file servers, the main servers for each Nexus, a server for the fourms, account storage, constant I/O traffic for the hosts, and the electric bill for it all.

    OK listen up I have a big problem that I'm sure many others have had about ads.

    I'm not one to say don't put ads or we wouldn't have this site because there would be no funding, but the sounds have got to go. I'm tired of hearing I've won poo when I haven't and tired of hearing ads for glade or whatever it is. Mute the sounds it chews up internet resources and could be why your server is being taxed as it puts strain on a server to add sound so if they are giving you some type of deal they are screwing you like a porn star.

    Actually, the ads themselves are not distributed by the Nexus, rather they are pulled from the ad networks by your browser.

    Like everything with the label "DRM", I have lost control, but this was probably due to CCleaner. I have spent the past few days creating a replacement, but all I needed was something to defeat that which was taken away.
