  1. Oooh! Arch Enemy! Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Listening. Right. Well, I wanted to post something, but it turns out I'm listening to Arch Enemy, War Eternal.
  2. I like chocolate. I like coffee. I like cigarettes. I like coding. I like C I like C++ I like C# I like candy. I like Candy as well. I like Claire. I like Charlotte. I like caramel. I like couches. I like cocktails. I like cream. I like computers. I like character. I like things that are bad for me.
  3. Gigabyte's X470 gaming ultra is not that expensive, really. (149 Euro!) Why? Because this motherboard supports Hybrid CrossfireX, which means the Vega 8 iGPU on the Ryzen 3 2200G shares a small portion of the workload with the pair of RX 560s, which means I have a litte more room to crank up settings. Why not a regular Ryzen 1300X? Well, the regular Ryzen 1300X is about 1% percent faster than the Ryzen 3 2200G, doesn't have an IGPU and is obviously more expensive, so I'd say better value for money in this particular set up. (Because of the Hybrid CrossfireX on this motherboard!) With FreeSync, the lastest drivers, frame-pacing and enhanced Sync, Crossfire is anything but dead. I easily achieve a constant 75 FPS, which is just about perfect for my FreeSync monitor at 75 Hz. I can also choose to cap the framerate at 60Hz and I won't see a flicker or a tear, and I can crank up the graphics even more! Agree with all minus the Crossfire/MultiGPU use is dead, is not as with Dx12 and or Vulkan you can implment multiGPU it is brand independent BUT and here is the BIG BUT the developers have to code it in.....and we know how lazy they can be to implement new stuff. There are many game profiles you can load into the startup settings of the Radeon Adrenalin version, but in case a game can't be found I'd recommend the ''optimize 1x1'' setting, because this particular setting seems to work perfectly fine with games that are supposed to be Crossfire incompatible. Agree with all minus the Crossfire/MultiGPU use is dead, is not as with Dx12 and or Vulkan you can implment multiGPU it is brand independent BUT and here is the BIG BUT the developers have to code it in.....and we know how lazy they can be to implement new stuff. From my perspective, the minor performance boost from multi-GPU's simply isn't worth the cost. Vid cards ain't cheap.... and I would rather spend the money on one REALLY good card, and call it a day. I get 90% of the performance, for half the cost..... Developers still haven't coded to take advantage of multi-core CPU's....... For the games I play, a decent dual core yields the same performance as a quad core...... or eight core.... etc. Video cards ain't cheap, no, but where I live two RX 560s cards are slightly cheaper than one RX 570, and with the Hybrid CrossfireX function on this motherboard I can achieve more than a RX 570. I've tried Dragon Age: Inquisition on Ultra settings without FPS cap and I'm getting a stable 80-81, while 73-74 is absolutely fine for my monitor. I just wanted to experiment with CrossfireX on a bit of a budget and I think I'm liking it enough to consider a Crossfire configuration for 2K once I have a bigger budget. Because I want 2K gaming at 120Hz, and I'm quite positive this can be achieved with two RX Vega 56s, but these babies are a little bit too expensive at the moment. Maybe in two years. Maybe! I hope this explains my ''weird'' choices. This rig as a whole didn't cost me too much and I like the results. For me it works better than expected, really.
  4. Dragon Age: Inquisition. I mean, Trevor Morris, come on!
  5. It's not the cheapest rig, but in terms of what it's capable of I'd say it is. Ryzen 3 2200G (Half as cheap and about 6% faster than a Ryzen 5 2400G at gaming!) 2 x 8 GB G.Skill DDR4-2666 (Dual Channel) Gigabyte X470 motherboard Gigabyte Radeon RX 560 Gaming OC 4GB x 2 (CrossfireX) AOC 1080p @ 75Hz, FreeSync Monitor Adata Ultimate SU650 SSD x 2 (Raid) (Cheap and fast!) I just wanted to see if the CrossfireX in combination with FreeSync would work, and it works like a charm. After a lot of tinkering I have found that with AA off while rendering everything on 2K VSR (Virtual Super Resolution) and capping FPS at 57-58, while running on 59Hz, results in smoother gameplay then AA on at 1080p. It's funny, but that seems to be the case. I get pretty sharp and clear images and it just runs like a charm. I play most games at Ultra settings, no problems. Not bad, considering I spent about 700 Euro for the whole PC. The orginal plan was to put two RX 580's in Crossfire, to make better use of the 75Hz monitor, because that would probably keep up or come close to a Vega 56 or even a 64, but even the RX 580 is too expensive for my taste at the moment. So I decided to keep the monitor running at 59Hz so these cards aren't stressed too much and maybe wait for the prices to come down again for a couple of months. (Damn bitcoin miners!) I'm happy with this build. It's not my dreambuild, but for now I need the money for my study. Who else is miffed with the prices of GPU's? (I bet a lot of you are!)
  6. I'm currently playing Sacred 2 Gold with the latest Sacred 2 mod installed. It's definitely still worth getting on GOG or Steam if you have a decent computer and can crank up all the graphics. For me this game has always had a history of running badly, eventhough I met all the requirements. It has always been very demanding on my hardware until now. It runs very smoothly with FreeSync so now I feel like I can finally play this game from start to finish without getting tired of all the flickering, stuttering and freezes. It still freezes on me occasionally, but that's after playing a few hours and it saves often enough. I'm thouroughly enjoying it and scouring every corner of this game. I'm trying to discover every nook, corner and cave this time around and I've found quite a few things already that I haven't found before. I'm even taking notes on locations, and so far I have found one locked box and two locked chests in open locations that won't open. I wonder if there's a key or quest for those boxes and chests hidden somewhere. I suppose I'll find out. I'm not looking for spoilers. I want to finish this from A to Z and then find out if I missed something. (Or not!) In any case, I'll be playing this game for the next year. Definitely. Absolutely loving it. I just want to thank the guys who made the latest mod again. Neat work! Especially the spiders and the bears look so much better now! And you're absolutely right, with PhysX on it runs so much better now! (It used to be unplayable!) So thank you once again! (Really happy with this mod!)
  7. People who know me keep telling me I'm 37. People who don't know me think I'm in my late 20's, early 30's. They're all wrong. You see, in my mind I'm still 14.
  8. I have fond memories of quite a few games. You see, me and my brothers used to share the only PC in the house so we'd always play the same games and talk about those games. We were also quite competitive and we had fun showing off our stuff. So in no particular order those games would be: The Horde, Stonekeep, Blood and Magic, Myst, Zork: Nemesis, Wing Commander, Baldur's Gate, Torment: Planescape, Icewind Dale. Neverwinter Nights because it had really cool and small communities online, in which you could really get to know the people on your server, and of course you could mod your own games and host them quite easily. It was completely free of charge to play that game online, which is how it's supposed to be. (In my very modest but vocal opinion!) I've had a really good time with some people on that game and feel like I really got to know a few of them. Sacred 2 because for some reason it just stands out. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I've never had this with any other game. It just ages well. It just looks pretty. I love the humor. It's relaxing. I love the colours. It's weird. It's funny. It's unique. It's huge. It's dumb. It's clever. There's a ton of stuff hidden in that game. There are a lot of surprises. Lots to discover. And the subtlety. For example, you can run into the stone with Excalibur in it in a forest clearing, or encounter an Alien from the Alien movies. And Blind Guardian! How could I ever forget? Seriously, in which other game can you beat your enemies to a pulp with a guitar or stab them with a drum stick? (Loving it!) It also offers me shitload of options to tinker with my characters, which is exactly what I like. It just never gets boring! It's probably a generation thing, but I kinda like games that look and feel like games. You know, a bit of humour, a wink and lots of adventures! I can appreciate games like Dragon Age: Inquisition and the Wither: The Wild Hunt, but I can't shake the fact that these games are a bit too ''serious'' overall? For me personally, I really appreciate it if a game looks pretty, but it doesn't necessarily have to look too realistic. I'd rather have a bit of humour. Let my imagination do the rest. Woah. See what I did there? You don't have to actually read this post.
  9. Something with a frog on the commodore 64. Yes, I'm *that* old.
  10. Thank you for the latest Sacred 2 mod. You've made me a very happy gamer. Thank you. And Thord, I really enjoy your YouTube videos, please make more! So for now I'm just going to say hello and wish all of you a good day. (Sunny, hopefully!) - Just another dude.
