  1. Isn't the weapon and armor level already determined by crafting and enchantment ability? Not sure why anyone would want to change that system. I had a blast maintaining all my weapons and updating them when I could boost my stats in some way. It was even tied into alchemy and the ingredients you could find to make higher powered potions.
  2. I would rather see Bethesda keep pushing forward and see what they can get their games to do instead of revisiting old games as a template. The way I see it, it could go several different ways. If they continue to push for larger sandbox style games then I would suggest to them keeping the player character creation open and let the player use their imagination. Focus on the world and how the player interacts with it. Fallout 4 settlements are a good example of this. I have almost 1300 hours out of one playthrough and I haven't even finished the main story, which honestly, isn't all that interesting. I love building. It brings out the creative side in me. If they choose to focus on character and story, then they need to start working some overtime because Witcher 3 set the bar so high that everything should and will be compared to it in the future. I just finished the dlc for it and Blood and Wine was larger than most regular games out there. I was impressed. But at the same time though it wasn't a Bethesda style game and I started to realize it really wasn't fair to compare them too closely because they're not the same type of game even though they both are labeled open world rpgs. Now that I've returned to Fallout 4 again I kind of feel as if the game fell short of either direction it could have taken. Building settlements was good but could have been better planned and executed. The dlc was ok and added some great stuff to the game but it seems that should have been there from the beginning, I'll agree with those who think the dlc could have introduced bigger story lines. The main story really didn't capture my attention for long since as soon as I started to build settlements the game became about rebuilding the Commonwealth instead of finding my son. Maybe they should have just focused on the rebuilding the Commonwealth. I would prefer the open world sandbox style game direction. Bethesda is good at creating worlds and it's definitely fun to explore them using my own imagination. I have returned to a single game several times for both Skyrim and Fallout 4 while I played through Witcher 3 once and haven't felt the desire to return, as impressive as the game was.
  3. If you have the dlc you could always use the barn or warehouse walls which are higher than a generator. Concrete walls stack and you can make those as high as you want. The base game walls can be built up several levels and then remove the flooring in between them after you're done.
  4. Even if they do, it'll probably be a decade or so away from now. I understand their need to stretch their creative muscles a bit but getting a game title from them that we all love once a decade isn't going to work very well. I'm not getting any younger.
  5. As far as I understand, Bethesda released Skyrim SE because they had already ported the original to practice using the updated engine that was created for Fallout 4. We don't have TES6 yet because they have other projects they want to do first. It'll be a while. As for Bethesda games changing, each one they've released has been different. They aren't afraid to try new things. I expect the next one to be a little different as well. Now whether or not they can perfect the things they introduce remains to be seen... I think M'aiq summed it up best when he said he thought it was best to adventure alone. No one likes fighting over the treasure.
  6. Well, I thought I'd go ahead and take the poll since I could be the only person that chose High Elf. Not sure why I went that route since High Elf ended up being the hated race in Skyrim. Didn't know that at the time of creation. It turned out to be an interesting side effect though as I felt neutral to the civil war and felt as if my character was there to balance out the universe with all the bad things the Thalmor have done. Closing in on level 80, my character is a complete badass and I love it. Still in Oldrim for now, but I'm planning on replaying the character again in SE once I see some more mods make the move to SE.
  7. It all depends whether or not you like to build things. Yes, the story could've been better but I got about 1200 hours out of it before the settlement stats glitch started wearing me down. I'm only about halfway through the main story so I may go back to it. Running around keeping settlements going and upgrading them seemed to hold my interest long enough. Mods, of course, made it even more fun and interesting.
  8. If we really wanted to get our hopes up we could wish for a remastered UI along with our remastered game so we wouldn't need SkyUI. I want to play the remastered version but not having certain mods updated might be kind of painful.
  9. There was a mod called FCO or Fully Customizable Outfits that separated vanilla outfits into pieces but it's been hidden for a while now.
  10. I tend to play Bethesda games the same way and so far I've been pretty successful in each one as far as making enough money to support myself. It usually starts with finding all the perks/abilities that max out your carrying weight as well as anything that will give you the advantage when buying and selling. Every fight I encounter and every bad guy killed, I'll take every item I can possibly carry then take it to the nearest merchant and unload. If you stay in this habit from the very beginning, you will be fairly wealthy midpoint in the game. It's not hard but rather tedious and sometimes annoying. In FO4, I think I'm at 250K bottle caps but I buy a lot of building supplies so it should be higher. When I played Skyrim, I think I had around 1.4 million gold. It was pointless after a while once I learned how to make expensive potions and weapons. Just too easy.
  11. There's always a reason why it would crash repeatedly. There's now over 13,000 mods for FO4 and any two mods combined could lead to problems or crashes. You're not likely to get a quick answer to your problem because we really don't know any details to help narrow down what the problem might be. We don't know anything about your cpu setup so how could anyone answer? A good place to start would be to disable all mods and check to see if the game works. Then slowly add a few back at a time and check again to see if the game works. Keep doing that until you run into the problem and that should at least narrow it down to which mod or mods it could be. I'm not the best problem solver here but I'll try to answer some of your questions the best I can. Yes, it could be the mods or it could be the main files of the game or both. There could be too many but I know many people here have more installed so I wouldn't say it's the amount but rather a mod or two which could be incompatible with each other. We have no idea what you have for a cpu. Yes. Some mods are incompatible with each other, especially ones that mod the same thing. It's always best to make sure you've fully read the details, instructions and even the forums for a mod to see if there are reports with mods having issues with other things. Yes. Some mods require dlc and that falls into reading the details and instructions as stated above. You didn't really state whether or not it had worked at all with all the mods being installed. I think the game was just updated so that may have messed things up. Check your mods for updates too. It could be anything but your best bet would be to disable all mods then enable a few at a time to narrow down the cause. And these questions go on daily here in all the different sections of the forum. Did you even look through the forums?
  12. I would go for something like this. It would definitely help with figuring out why your settlers walk into poles and get stuck when they could easily just walk around it. A toggle button would be nicer to have so you could see the NavMesh anywhere in the game and not just settlements.
  13. I don't fully level settlements either. I'll scrap all the junk or debris that I find and leave stuff like trees to make it still feel natural. I've been tempted to get the mods that give you access to everything but for some reason I haven't and I've tried to build up settlements using mostly stuff from the vanilla game and dlcs. I'll get mods that give specific things I'm looking for, especially pieces I thought should have been included in the vanilla game (half piece walls, wooden interior doorway). It's been interesting to watch certain settlements like Sanctuary evolve over time though. Each time a dlc comes out and new materials are introduced, I'll go back and improve or rethink some parts of a settlement. One goal I always keep in mind is to make it look like it is believable and that it fits into the game. Once I get it the way I like it then I'll go to other mods like Singing Settler and Build Your Own Pool and start adding luxury things. Although lately I've been trying to track down what's been wrecking my happiness in certain settlements. I'm suspecting the Singing Settler mod is guilty because only the settlements where I've placed a singer have screwed up stats and incorrect resource numbers even though everything should be fine. And I was a little frustrated too with some of the settlements and not being able to scrap or repair certain parts like the houses in Sanctuary or Croup Manor. If I get too bored then I may get a mod to level those spots and build something new.
  14. I have this mod which might help a little but I don't think it will cover 50 levels. Although the author explains how it works so you might be able to make your own adjustments. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15608/?
  15. If you're downloading mods for FO4 make sure they are from the FO4 section of Nexus. CBBE is a body replacer for the female body ( will contain nudity). It is available for both FO4 and Skyrim. If you are trying to download a mod that requires it, then make sure you download the right version for the game you are playing. Other mods that depend on CBBE will not work correctly without it.
