  1. Hey everyone! So it's been a little while, and I have a small update for you. FtB is still going strong, albeit slow, and after the announcement of Fallout 4, I'm beginning to think I should take the time to slow down even more and work as carefully as possible. So as of right now, I don't have an estimated release date. There's still so much to do, so little time. Thanks everyone for your comments and I hope to have something truly special for you after the Fallout 4 hype has died down.
  2. If you still need any last minute testers, I'd love to help you polish this up as much as possible.
  3. Thanks for offering your services! I don't need voice acting right now (I'm waiting to finalize all dialogue first), but I'll let you know when I do. Sorry about the late reply! EDIT: Only a little bitter. :nuke: No problem, I'll keep an eye out!
  4. Oh the frustration of modding late in the life cycle of a game... I feel it, being a late modder myself. :/
  5. Ahhh this looks awesome! If you have need for any lady voice actors, I can lend my voicebox. Also, you seem a bit bitter about Fallout 4 ;)
  6. Taking a break from FtB to start another companion mod, this time for DUST.
  7. The floating skull is pretty cool, actually. If you do look into it, I think a good place to start would be to reverse-engineer the shovel script for grave-digging.
  8. I like the idea. I've had the same thought whenever I'm playing the game and get really immersed. As far as I know, there isn't a mod that does this, but it would be possible. Just requires a bit of scripting. Try looking into some scripting tutorials and see if you can't figure it out. (:
  9. Sorry all for the lack of updating, but this mod is most definitely still in progress. Even though I have basic character bios and such written already, most of my time is being sucked up with writing out the actual rising action and climax sections. Because Asger and Seamus have existed in my game for about 2-3 years now, it's pretty much going to be impossible for me to try to release the mod without them being at least 99% finalized. Since they aren't written to be cannon fodder for the Courier's antics, that in itself is presenting a challenge, not to mention writing the dependencies between the two of them. Each will have a stage of development that changes their outlook, and making it all fit together is more of a challenge than I thought. But YES, this mod is most certainly not dead. I'm still learning about the GECK, still learning scripting techniques and such, and so I hope that when everything is done, I'll have a product I can be proud of. In fact, I'm hoping to do some things that haven't even been seen before; without giving too much away, there will be an event that alters a character's appearance pretty drastically. Also, I don't plan to release the mod without making custom armors and such. I've got a lot on my plate. Sure hope it's worth it! ~Mel
  10. I've given this advice before, and I'll do it again with the exact same words: Focus on making your character a person, not just a body following you around. Take a look at vanilla AND modded companions, see what the creators did to give them depth. And I don't mean some little backstory, because EVERYONE has a backstory. What you want is a character who can grow with your mod. Think of yourself, and how events in your life have changed you as a person. Maybe you went a part of your life being incredibly selfish and it took some kind of event to make you change that part of yourself. If your character can grow and develop, you've got a good companion, no matter what gender, race, or creed. You can always shoot me a message if you have questions.
  11. I'm so OCD, I could never handle the break in lore! :P
  12. Haha, I was looking into a different model from Lux, one that doesn't have a DL link. I figured if I'm going to learn this, I'll learn it with a model I want to use. (In this case, the Joel model from Last of Us)
  13. Still working on it. Was hoping I could get a download of the model so I would have something to work with, and we could learn together. Waiting for a response from Luxox.
  14. Give me a few to look into it, and I should have an answer for you.
