"The wood elves of Mirkwood are not like their kin. They are less wise... And more dangerous." - Beorn the Shapeshifter

Last month, I shared a tidbit of the gigantic Moria and some of the dwarven weapons that came with it. This month, we venture to the complete opposite end of the spectrum: elves. Not the friendly Elrond that inhabits Rivendell nor the elegant Lady Galadriel who rules over Lothlorien. No, this update is dedicated to the almost-hostile elves that are found in Mirkwood.

    KING OF THE WOODLAND REALM

Sometimes referred to as the "prettiest king in Middle-Earth" by his raving fans, Thranduil rules over his kingdom with surety. Unaffected by the fates of other lands, he seeks what is best for his kingdom even if it means turning his back on another. Some deem his actions wise while others label him a coward. Whatever your stance on the elven king, I believe we can all appreciate the brilliant work KnErBSE73 has done thus far. He is currently working on creating Thranduil's robes and sword and has done a tremendous job already. Take a look at some of the screenshots he's provided below. He's still scratching the surface with the robes but the sword is all but completed.

    PROTECTORS OF THE WEAK

I shouldn't say that any elf is "weak", but there are those that risk their immortality to fight for their homeland. For Thranduil's kingdom, this happens to be the Mirkwood Warriors. Seen in the introduction of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, these elves were seen for a very brief moment, accompanied by their king, Thranduil. Luddemann, one of the team's modelers, has created the helmet worn by the Mirkwood Warriors. The following pictures are WIP and finished shots of the helmet, which look fantastic. Luddemann is also a part of the Credo team, be sure to check that out as well!

    PROTECTORS OF THE PALACE

While the Mirkwood Warriors serve as a standing militia, there are the Mirkwood Palace Guards who stay back and protect the kingdom. Seen several times in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, these elves are the king's personal bodyguards. Constantly they stand watch, stiff as a statue. Enpremi, another one of the team's modelers, is working on creating this armor. Enpremi has created great armors in the past, namely the Galadhrim armor seen in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (link below). So far he has come up with a spear and a shield, though more is on the way.

The first picture is the original armor design, while the following two are what Enpremi has created so far.

This concludes the monthly update, I hope you all enjoyed and please stay tuned! There's still a lot of exciting things to come for all the fans! Everything seen in these monthly updates will in fact be integrated into the series, even if you don't know how just yet

  2. Well I requested the armor from Luddeman for my video series, I don't think he plans on adding it into Credo. Great job with this by the way! I've used a few of these armors before.

  3. Nice job luddeman, but the textures need some work and also please fix the clipping problem with the ears. Also can you please make the Mirkwood Elven Palace Guard helmet too. Here's the link. http://www.wetanz.com/assets/images/inside/ChronicleIII_SampleSpread_080_081.jpg?utm_source=Weta+News&utm_campaign=cfcb9379d4-Newsletter_17Sept&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_9dea806ebd-cfcb9379d4-292253545

Shouldn't you be more focused on asking him to get the full armor created first? ;)

  4. Those are some nice looking weapons and Balrog. The mod is slowly starting to come together.

Hallgarth, you should know better! :P It's not a mod, it's a video series. Like Skyrim Machinimas.

    Thanks for the compliments though!

"Moria... You fear to go into those mines. The dwarves delved too greedily and too deep. You know what they awoke in the darkness of Khazud-dum... Shadow and Flame" - Saruman the Wise

Hello all! This is the first of (hopefully) many monthly updates. Due to the fact that episodes are few and far between, hopefully giving you all updates once a month will help the time go by faster. Now obviously I will be talking to those who comment and answering what questions I can, but this will provide a way for me to show that I'm actually working and not just lolly-gagging. So without further ado, on to the Monthly Update!

    DWARVEN STEEL

Due to the generosity of two modders who are not on the Nexus, I have received exclusive access to a few Middle-Earth related mods. Take a look at some of the screenshots below:

    http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/y482/OwenYulefield/Balrog_zps51ea2347.png

The weapons, created by Vladimirov, have been seen throughout the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit series. The Balrog was provided by dogtown1, author of the infamous SkyMoMod. All the content shown is already planned to be shown in Black Magic as is some other content I can't share with you just yet. Both authors provided more than what is shown, but that's for another update  Check the end of this update for links to their mods.

    WELCOME, HALLGARTH!

To step away from the modding aspect, I would like to welcome another voice actor, Hallgarth, to the team! Hallgarth auditioned for a yet-to-be-announced role and I was more than satisfied with the result. He now joins the ranks of several other acclaimed voice actors of Skyrim Nexus. Welcome Hallgarth! Several other voice actors are also auditioning to become a part of the team, so don't be surprised to see the names keep coming.

    THE TEAM

Added to the OP is a new banner titled "The Team." Here you will find the list of team members and those who have contributed to Black Magic. Some of the names may jump off the page and I would like to thank every single one of them for making Black Magic what it is.

This concludes the first monthly update. I realize it's a little short, but I hope that this can hold you guys over. Next month is where things get real interesting. Stay tuned!

"Many years ago, Dorgas served no one. A lone necromancer, he practiced his ways deep into Mordor. When Sauron discovered Dorgas, he wanted him destroyed. Dorgas retaliated. In a desperate attempt, Dorgas created a fire-drake which wiped out Sauron's minions. Infuriated, Sauron marched forth himself. After an epic battle of magic and steel, Sauron emerged victorious. But instead of killing his adversary, he offered Dorgas a deal. And in his weakest moment... Dorgas accepted." - Gandalf the Grey

"Black Magic" is a Middle Earth-themed, cinematic series created utilizing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Revolving around an elf by the name of Calacil and the always comforting Gandalf the Grey, "Black Magic" features many iconic Middle Earth characters, locations, etc. while also having a fresh blend of new things being introduced. Each episode usually takes several months of recording, editing, voice acting, and various other tasks before it gets released. Think TV show, only on YouTube.

I am constantly needing new people to fill new roles, so don't fret if you don't have any particular expertise! Voice actors, modders, and people just looking to give feedback are always appreciated. If you are interested in doing a little voice acting for some new characters or like to create a mod that would be seen in my episodes, please comment below or personally message me. Help of any kind is appreciated, even if you're just interested in critiquing!

If you like what I do, don't hesitate to 'subscribe' to my channels and/or 'like' my videos! I'm always learning and growing, so expect to see these videos keep getting better and better. I really enjoy doing this and I hope it shows.

As of right now, the team is pretty small. However, the list is ever growing and I hope this continues. If you are interested in joining, just let me know!

  7. Hello all! I have a pretty simple mod request for anyone eager to take me up on it. I'd love to see somebody create Thranduil's crown, I mean, just look at it! It's so interesting and unique and would fit right into Skyrim. It'd be great for anyone, including myself, wishing to play as King of the Woodland Realm :)

  8. Seeing that you've clicked on this thread, I'm assuming you're a fan of The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, or just Middle Earth in general. If you have any modding experience making armors, then this is the thread for you!

I've undertaken a large-scale project unlike anything seen before. Instead of creating mods, I'm creating a video series. Technically, several series. I have started one titled "Black Magic", but it doesn't end after just one! I plan on creating several Middle-Earth themed cinemas played out on Skyrim. New characters, old characters. New places, old places. Keeping everything you love about Middle Earth while adding stories that will entice you from the very beginning.

If you are interested in helping me out, please shoot me a message or drop a comment. As aforementioned, I'm currently on the lookout for people who would like to create some armors seen in Middle Earth (see screenshots below).

Thanks for reading, and keep your eyes peeled for this one!

  9. Well you see, I have a YouTube series and a lot of these mods I use in this series, so a lot of them I can't delete (atleast for now).

Have you guys ever heard the saying, "count your losses and move on?" Well, I think that applies pretty well here. I really appreciate you guys helping me out, but I simply lack the knowledge and patience required to fix this problem even with a lot of help from you two. So I think I'm going to clean up my load order to the best of my abilities, load from the most recent save I can, and just start over.

    Thanks for everything guys :)

  10. Here's another weird little update: I loaded a save from December 2012, and it worked. Granted my character was totally different, but it's still better than nothing :D But then I tried to load a save that was only about six months ago and it crashed again.

  11. Some things I ought to note:

-I'm not sure if my SKSE Plugins was supposed to have a lot of stuff, that's literally all mine had

-There were some panels asking me to check boxes and such everytime I'd paste all of it, so I just didn't mess with it

I hope this helps, but I probably skewed it all somehow.

  13. I don't know, none of this seems to be working. I think I'm just going to completely uninstall Skyrim and reinstall a clean, new slate. I've been looking at different ways but all of them are different. Could you guys help me? I'm going to be specific with what I'd like to do:

    -Completely uninstall Skyrim

    -Completely uninstall SKSE

-LEAVE my mods so I won't have to re-download all of them

    -LEAVE my saves

    -Reinstall Skyrim

    -Reinstall SKSE

Can this be done? BOSS didn't work, updating Steam didn't work, verifying my game cache didn't work, I just want to completely start with a new slate but keep my content. Is this possible?

  14. Alright, so here's the things I'll try to do, in order, once I get home:

    -Download/Install BOSS

    -Reinstall SKSE

-Potentially reinstall Skyrim if the top two don't work

Here's the list of things I've already tried but didn't work:

-Loading a save from before the mod was added

-Going into the game via "coc Whiterun" and then selecting a save

    -Updated the Steam Client

    -Verified my Game Cache

Is there anything else you'd suggest doing? @Shadeybladey I did try to reload a save from before the mod was added but that didn't work.

  15. Well my internet is down (I'm on my phones 3G right now) so I decided to try out the coc whiterun thing. It took me in game, but I was level 1 and basically started from scratch. But when I tried to load another save, it'd crash again... Weird...
  16. *UPDATE*

I updated Steam and all that jazz, but it still wouldn't work. So I tried experimenting with starting a new game, only this time it worked. I'd rather not start a new game but I figured this might help you guys help me :D
