  1. In response to post #44366100. And now S.E.P.T.I.M. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2846
  2. I really can't pinpoint the problem. Sometimes a new game doesn't have this problem; sometimes it does. I don't know if it's a mod incompatibility or a corrupt savegame. I may have to reinstall Skyrim and the mods to get rid of the problem.
  3. As I'm ascending Throat of the World, I come upon Emblem V of the Etched Tablets. As I walk or ride past it, the game crashes every time. I don't know if it's a new cell loading, a mod loading, or something else causing the instability. Anyone have any ideas? How can I troubleshoot this? Thanks! Active Mod Files:
  4. I do admit it's been a while since I played the game so I've forgotten some aspects of how it worked. But yeah, what I'm looking for is a mod that will allow me to save the game at any point I wish, like right before fighting a boss so that when I die I won't get taken all the way back to the begining of the path I just spent an hour clearing.

    DDSopt

Found this (for those looking for a quicker setup guide)... For those of you that want the best looking results and don't mind a tedious process to get to them, we're going to be using DDSopt. 1. Download and install DDSopt - pre-release - update 4. 2. Copy these lines of code and replace the contents of your DDSopt.ini with them. 3. Now here comes the tedious work. All of the textures you want to optimize need to be loose. If you use the BSA versions of texture mods, you'll have to extract them. *Mod Organizer users that have MO set to automatically extract BSA files, skip steps four through seven. Instead, rename the mods folder under Mod Organizer to "Mod Extracted" 4. Make a file directory that looks like this: Working >>Mod Extracted >>>>A folder for each mod you want to optimize. Examples Below >>>>Skyrim HD 2K Textures >>>>Serious HD Retexture Skyrim >>>>Another mod you want optimized... 5. Download and install BSAopt. 6. NMM/Wrye users go to Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim/Data 6. MO users that aren't set to automatically extract BSAs go to Mod Organizer/mods/ 7. Follow this guide to extract each mod's BSA into their corresponding folders that you just made in the Mod Extracted folder. 8. Download and extract these batch files into the same folder that contains your Mods Extracted folder. 9. Run 4_Mod_Sorting_Pre-optimization_2.73.bat. It will make sure that "Mod Extracted" is in the same folder. Remember, all of your extracted mods should be in their own sub-folders in "Mod Extracted" 10. As it runs, hit any key when it tells you to and type "Y" when it asks. Don't exit out. It will close itself on the last prompt to hit another key to continue. 11. When it's done, a log.txt file will be made. Make sure that there are no errors that are level 4 or higher. 12. Along with "Mod Extracted" and your batch files, there should be new folders titled Mod Optimized, Mod Ordinary Textures, Mod Normal Maps, Mod Body Textures, Mod Exterior Textures, and Mod Exterior Normal Maps. Each of these folders should contain sub-folders named the same as the folders you made in Mod Optimized. 13. Follow the "Optimizing the Mod Textures" portion of this page. 14. Run 5_Compress_Mods_7z_2.71.bat. Once again, don't exit out. It will close itself on the last prompt. 15. When it's finished, you should have a new folder titled "Mod Optimized Archive." This folder contains your new optimized textures! Move these .7z archives to wherever you put your manually downloaded mods. You can install these like any other mod. *Note: These archives contain loose files. Loose files will overwrite all BSA archives. Because of this, these optimized textures will overwrite all other mods that use BSA files. Even if those mods are later in the load order. 16. Mod Organizer users that renamed their "mods" folder to "Mod Extracted" should change it back at this point. 17. After your optimized texture .7z files have been moved, you can delete your "Mod Whatever" folders. Source: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50214/?
  6. So yeah, for those who are inquiring, I tried my theory above and it worked! No more static butt syndrome when she's nude. I replaced femalebody_0.nif and femalebody_1.nif in "Data\meshes\actors\character\Ningheim\female\body" with the same two files found in the "30 TBreastButtPhysics - 2-5g Nude\Meshes\actors\character\character" assets folder of the UNP BLESSED BODY NMM Installer archive. I'm pretty sure you need to have the hdtPhysicsExtensions installed as well to make this work. I'm using version 14.28. Am I the only one that enjoys watching the ass cheeks jiggle???
  7. I feel like I need a PHD to figure out DDSopt. Last night I tried to use the DDSopt tool and gave after an hour of reading how to use it on the S.T.E.P. Project page (follow link below). http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:DDSopt
  8. Is there a way to get butt physics working with the Ningheim race? Is it as simple as replacing a skeleton in the Ningheim race folder or something? I have both butt and breast physics working with all the Skyrim vanilla races, just not Ningheim.
  9. RealVision is the ENB I'm using; I'm not using the performance version nor do I have the blur effect disabled. No, I haven't tried disabling hyper-threading. Do you think that will make the difference? I read somewhere else to leave the memory clocked at stock speed, not the 1600MHz profile. I've never used texture optimizer; I need to figure out how to use that tool.
  10. Ah, ok. So using ENB without the graphics has better performance than without using ENB at all?
  11. Why use an ENB if you are going to disbale the graphics via UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true? Isn't the graphics the point of using an ENB mod? I'm confused. Help me to understand.
  12. DOF = blur effect, correct? I do have that enabled, I've read that it drops FPS a lot. Maybe if I disable LOD mods I might see a performance gain?
  13. I tried unparking the cores on my CPU but it didn't seem to make a difference. I thought 'TFC 1' froze the game, well almost, water still flows (I think). I suppose you are right, I can't have it all. I thought I would be able to considering my hardware specs but alas it's not my hardware that is the limiter, it's the game itself. Maybe I'll try uninstalling mods that use scripts.
  14. I even did a clean install of Skyrim and installed only 1k texture mods. Of course I don't know what size the textures are in the follower mods; they could by 8k for all I know (not to mention they all seem to have Apachii hair). Maybe I should try out a texture optimizer on my follower mods. Are there any good follower mods that don't max out your VRAM?
  15. It seems that with my current hardware setup (Core i5-4670k, 16GB RAM, GTX 780 Ti w/3GB VRAM) I can only run an ENB mod or have multiple followers but not both, I mean, I can use both but not without a bunch of stuttering when I turn 360 degrees. Is this typical for others? ENB makes the game look really impressive but at the same time I want to have multiple followers without all that annoying stuttering everytime I turn around in the game; so I'm thinking about uninstalling ENB. Any thoughts? Have others given up on ENB in favor of performance?
  16. Hmmmm, I haven't played it in a while. I recall it saving at certain checkpoints that were far and few inbetween. I'll have to play it again to test your theory.
  17. I decided to try the Ningheim race. I like the follower add-on the have; bonus!
  18. I like the 4 pack idea. Yes, the Lunari are quite sexy.
  19. What is everyone's favorite race mod in Skyrim? Ningheim looks pretty good, but so does Temptress, Lunari, Ashen, and Succubus.
  20. Why do I keep seeing posts about removing fog when using ENB? Do they not work well together?
  21. Well this sucks. No responses. Guess I'll keep playing Skyrim.
  22. It would seem that adjusting the value in the memory blocks ini helped a litle bit but alas I gave up and reinstalled using 1k textures and followed the STEP guide. As a result, my savegame load times are half as long, my dialogue menus are quicker, and no macro-stutters at all, only very few micro-stutters (barely noticable). Thank you STEP!!! The very minimal micro-stutters are probably the result of me taking it a bit further by installing Climates Of Tamriel, Supreme Storms, Realistic Lighting Overhaul, Project Parallax, and RealVisionENB (basically I just followed steps 2 and 3 on the RealVisionENB page plus Parallax) after following the STEP guide. Looks incredible! The very miniaml micro-stutters are far less obtrusive than any kind of lag you would experience in any online multi-player game. It takes more time to blink. Other thoughts: I stayed away from body replacers (like CBBE and UNP) and apachii sky hair. Instead I installed a few stand-alone followers that don't require any other mods to be installed. That way, all my NPCs are unaffected by body replacers and textures (kept seeing darker faces on most of the NPCs when I used body replacers).
  23. Is there a mod for Dark Souls that lets you save anytime or at least more often? I quit playing the game because of the lack of save game increments. I'd love to start playing the game again if I could save the game more often.
  24. Thanks. So it sounds like if I'm modding only Skyrim, it should be relatively safe to use the "Download with manager" button as long as I'm not downloading ancient mods that were created before NMM exisisted. When downloading using the "Download with manager" button, it does place the archive in the NMM mod folder and the archives will remain there unless you manually delete them, correct? You just have to accept having a bunch of disabled mods (with red Xs) in the NMM list (ie: don't remove them, just deactivate them).
  25. "Instead of clicking 'Download with manager' click 'download manually' on the file you want to download." Why? What are the benefits?
