MCP does change a lot but almost all of the changes are optional; just uncheck them. Seriously, MCP is the best thing that ever happened to Morrowind.

Do you have MCA installed? If not, one of your mods has it as a parent. Start the game and look at the Data files. Highlight each mod and it will show you the expected parent in the right column.

Look at the file structure in your Data folder. You may have sub folders that still need to be unzipped. IIRC, I had to unpack them to desktop and then individually unpack each component. (this was a while ago)

Did you recently install MW from Steam? Mods must have later date than the esms but Steam always puts a new current date on them. MorrowindCodePatch redates them if installed but if you reinstalled they'll be back to new.

If you have already installed them there is no need to reinstall. MCP will take care of the MW esms. Just activate the esps.

The Steam version redates the esms to current date. Mods must have a newer date than esms to work. MCP redates the esms to their correct 2002/3 dates.

Morrowind isn't well optimized and depends a lot on the CPU. 25FPS was common when it came out and even now with decent hardware, I wouldn't expect more than 40FPS and less than that in crowded areas like Balmora. If you want performance, get OpenMW.

Sorry to hear that. Even back in 2004 when GCD came out, there were some systems that always had trouble with GCD for unexplained reasons. This is why Gluby and Huskobar made revised versions around 2009-2010. I never had any serious issues myself but I've read about many. Unfortunately you may be one of unlucky few. Before giving up though, try a new game; there may be something bad baked into your old saves.

I also recommend the Gluby version. In addition, the potion restore fix may conflict with the latest MCP restore attributes fix. I haven't used the GCD restore esp myself but I know that the MCP changes have caused conflicts with other mods.

I think the latest MCP makes the stack the default. You press another key for singles (shift IIRC)

I've been playing on and off since 2004 and recently started playing the OpenMW version as well. It's a great game that I always come back to.
