I was wandering around Heljarchen Hall in the middle of the night when to the south I saw a ghost travelling west. I quickly rushed to investigate and I immediately recognized Arniel's Shade. Expecting to hear his usual zombified moan I approached him but he greeted me with his living default greeting "what can I do for you, Archmage?" But before i could blunder any possibility, i went online to see if anyone else encountered this wierdness. So far I found only 2 hits reporting this 'bug' : one on gamefaq http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/615804-the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/61912202 the other on a dodgy fake forum which I will not link to here. One guy met Arniel's shade on the road and he followed him for hours until he got too sleepy. Since Skyrim has made me an insomniac, I decided to follow him as well. He walks veeery slowly and sometimes makes small stops on the side of the road and back (to pee maybe? pretty cold up here in the Pale) I Thought he'd be heading to Winterhold but he avoided the mountain pass and headed to Dawnstar. Of course i had to scout ahead to clear any beasties and bandits for him. It took ages and ages for him to get to Dawnstar. Once he was there he took the road in front of Rustleif's house then looped around Brina's house and headed back out of Dawnstar, due west. So i followed him and followed him, for hours and hours, to a point where even my curiosity faded. In another report, Arniel's shade was seen in the College doing his everyday stuff, with his living greeting and everything. Summoning Arniel's shade will, as expected, spawn the real Arniel's shade next to the anomaly. Anyone else encoutered this cool bug? My question is, how did this happen? Has Arniel's Shade found its way in a leveled spawner? Or is this an easter egg?
