  1. I know that, and I was only mentioning the Elder Scrolls, I know Fallout doesn't use the "Chosen One" Storyline, the setting doesn't really support that kind of thing, and other companies don't run the 'Chosen One' trope into the ground the way Bethesda does, though honestly, call me a hypocrite but I actually liked how Skyrim gave you special abilities to support your status as a Chosen One, that being of course your Dragonborn powers, even if it does kill Roleplaying, which I suppose could be a double-edged sword, I mean yes I like the idea of having special powers to support your role in the plot but at the same time it's that s#*! that can kill RP potential when mods aren't thrown into the mix
  2. I know but I mean it as a Negative point to the fact that Bethesda has done the "Chosen One" plot to death with one exception (I assume they use it in Elder Scrolls 1&2? I dunno) In Morrowind you're the Nereverine, the reincarnation of the Dunmer Hero, Nerevar, so a Chosen One In Skyrim you're the Dragonborn, a mortal with the soul and powers of a dragon Chosen to defeat Alduin and save the world (I'm not clear on your character's role lore-wise in ESO) But in Oblivion, it's not Destiny that's guiding you, it's all just you being in the right place at the right time, you were in that Prison cell when the Emperor needed to escape through the secret tunnel, you showed up at Kavatch to get Martin only to find it being attacked by Daedra, all coincidence But I didn't want to anger the Morrowind Fanboys and girls cause it's apparently the "Perfect" Elder Scrolls game, well I got one thing to say to you guys, Cliff Racers, 'nuff said
  3. One thing Oblivion's story has that I think makes it superior to Skyrim's, (besides the fact that Oblivion's is longer and more interesting) is you're not the Chosen One in the Oblivion MQ, you're helping the Chosen One (Technically it was Martin who saved all of Tamriel, not you) so you could RP an average joe cause you have no special powers or a big destiny to fulfill and could just say Uriel was just a senile old man And while I would say something about Morrowind (Cause you're the Chosen One there) but I wouldn't want to anger the fanboys for saying something negative about their "Oh so f***ing perfect" RPG
  4. Well I was thinking of the one I mentioned cause Oblivion, that's the first thing the guards say to you if you commit a crime and you're caught
  5. Imagine being able to change the Avast virus alert sound effect to "STOP! You violated the law!"
  6. Fair point, though like I said in my first post, FO4 bored me, the first burn I had fun, but once that ended that's when it got boring, and not even mods could fix that, now part of that could be because I just cannot find and extensive quest mods for Fallout 4 (Skyrim has mods like Wheels of Lull which is one of my favorites. What does Fallout 4 have?
  7. In all honesty I think Bethesda's gotten too comfortible with the modding community, relying on them to fix Bethesda's shortcomings and i'm all for mods, I love them, trust me, but mods should not compromise a developer's creativity, and it seems like that's what's happened with Bethesda, and it's a shame to, I grew up playing and absolutely loving Oblivion and Fallout 3 is certainly my favorite Fallout game (New Vegas might take that place if I give it more attention but that's for another time And I also certainly love Skyrim, but yeah, Fallout 4 and 76 are certainly obvious dips in quality, we'll just have to wait and see if the Elder Scrolls takes that same dip with TES6
  8. I'm not saying Morrowind is a bad game either, I actually enjoyed playing it via the Morroblivion mod, could be my nostalgia talking, it was Oblivion that got me into the Elder Scrolls, I played it when I was growing up, oh I have played Morrowind before but I never got past Balmora without going "Well where the f*** do I go?" (To be fair, I was a kid) so I never got into Morrowind, but I f***ing love Oblivion (Also, Shivering Isles expansion best expansion, fight me)
  9. Obsidian's new IP certainly looks interesting, and of course people are gonna be saying that they're gonna show Bethesda how it's done, and no doubt comparing it to Bethesda's Fallout lineup. But I have a confession to make, I have never played any of the Black Isle Fallout games (I don't like point and click gameplay in all honesty) so my first Fallout game was actually Fallout 3, which I actually really like (Cause I didn't have nostalgia goggles when I went into Fallout 3, I had never even heard of Fallout until I played 3), and of course i'm looking forward to Obisidian's new game I just wanted to get that out there, and i'm sure it'll be superior to Fallout 4 (Fallout 4 bored me more than anything else) and I don't even need to mention Fallout 76 I cannot say anything for Fallout New Vegas, in all honesty that one's still stewing in my mind so i'm not sure what to think of it, I need to play it more to form a definite opinion, but i'm sure you guys probably think it might be at least on par if not somehow better than New Vegas (Cause according to everyone, New Vegas is the best of Bethesda's Fallout games, and it to was developed by Obsidian) I just wanted to say that
  10. Edit: Woops, I swear I thought I was quoting someone else, my bad
  11. Can a moderator please close this thread before it devolves into something I don't want it to devolve into?
  12. Hey it's your preference, I wasn't a fan of it but i'm not shitting on anyone's opinion if they did like it, just please don't try to argue that it's better than Oblivion and Skyrim like it's a fact, cause that's entirely subjective
  13. One of my main problems with it was how you miss almost Ever. Damn. Time, *Attacks dozens of times, only hits once* people b&@*$ about combat in Oblivion and Skyrim being a button masher but really Morrowind was a button masher as well, but more frustrating
  14. I know what you mean with the magic, but i'm talking about ways to cast, you got channeled spells like Flames (With and without the damaging wall generation, charged projectiles, runes, cloaks) but I will admit it could be a lot better
  15. Actually redoing things and making them better for gameplay is not simplifying it is improving. Basically removing diseases, potion making gets reduced to a very minimal difficulty task and making potions underpowered at the end game, silver weapons and magic items being the only means of hurting specific enemies, removing the opinion feature, hiring mercs, simplified guilds, lysty argonian not getting another volume, everything is just a better version of something else, dialog in general, voiced protagonist, and so on Fallout 4's Voiced Protagonist idea is one thing I did not like cause for one thing, it just kills roleplaying, and makes it harder for modders to use dialogue in quest mods. Someone said something about the Elder Scrolls games getting more simplified as a point of quality dropping with each entry (If anything I think the combat got better with each game, Morrowind had that shitty dice roll system Oblivion's melee combat sucked cause it seemed like melee weapons just did f*#@-all damage no matter what) I actually love the melee combat in Skyrim and I appreciate the variety of spell types to, just wish they could make magic combat better)\ I think I made this post cause i'm feeling sore that one of my favorite game developers is starting to go downhill and I was just trying to defend it
  16. I understand that but you look at Elder Scrolls Online which runs on a better game engine, graphically it looks a lot better than Skyrim, it runs better (No mods required) and can I just gush over how nice the animations are in ESO? Meanwhile in Skyrim and even Fallout 4 the animations are stiff, outdated, and mods are a band-aid for them, that's it (Granted i'm not saying anything against animation modders, their work is amazing) but still
  17. I guess you guys are right but in all honesty the Elder Scrolls games being more simplified with each entry doesn't bother me (The dice roll hit system in Morrowind was bullshit, fight me, it worked in Elder Scrolls 1 and 2 cause they used 2D Sprites in a 3D Environment so I can understand the dice roll system there but not in Morrowind which is full 3D) and i'll admit, I should have worded better what I said about Fallout 4, a good game, yes but a terrible Fallout game (Honestly Fallout 4 has become just boring for me, and none of the quest mods released for it seem to help) but when I said I believe TES 6 will be at least decent, I mean Game Engine notwithstanding, cause in all honesty they should have retired it before Skyrim but Skyrim is still amazing, it and Oblivion are my favorite Elder Scrolls games, not denying it has flaws (I really don't give a Skeever's ass about the main questline) Bottom line, I suck at correctly wording my point until after the fact and i'm sorry for that
  18. Everyone's s***ing on them cause Fallout 76 bombed hard and they're worried TES 6 will be bad but to be completely honesty, it's only Fallout where the quality drops with each entry, it started with the fantastic Fallout 3, then came the mediocre Fallout 4, then the terrible Fallout 76 (I'm not counting New Vegas cause Bethesda didn't develop it) But the Elder Scrolls has been consistently really good, which I guess makes it clear which of their franchises Bethesda favors but still, if they keep this up I think we can expect TES 6 to be at least decent Edit: Well f*#@ me, I was trying to make a point and apparently I missed the mark entirely, can I request closing this thread? No use for it being open if I or someone missed the point entirely
  19. Can anyone point me to an XBox One mod with a Coat as awesome as the one seen in this mod here https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/21162?tab=description ? I f*#@ing love that mod, especially the jacket and hood combo, but sadly the author has stated that there will be no XBox One version (Though I would love to know why, I PMed them and they never responded)
  20. This time it's a mod that actually exists, something called Kalikut's "Avai Rii", it seems to have gone missing off the face of english forums. Any links would be useful if you can provide one please? I need it for a character i'm making (Unless you know a better underwater home)
  21. No worries but you're not the only one on these Forums, someone else might know
  22. No, not a city, a home specifically, something alien (NO XENOMORPHS! I want to make that clear now)
  23. Specifically something technologically advanced, clearly not lore friendly but I don't care, it's for a character concept i'm exploring
