  1. Are there any follower mods that work with Hearthfire? Specifically looking to make steward at my house.1 I tried UFO, usually I don't even get option to offer steward to followers, (even when they ask when I arrive it doesn't allow it) when I do it NEVER works - they just still act like normal follower and don't have the steward dialogue. AFT says in readme it's not compatible because the author is too cheap to spend $5 - seriously he says that it's not compatible because he won't spend the money in his readme. I've looked at a couple others but I'm hoping to get an informed decision from someone who has experienced a mod that works with Hearthfire. Mostly I just want followers that will stay close, level up, wear sensible gear instead of default, and not kill each other or me because of friendly fire.
  2. my little kitty/my little hatchling are mods for khajit/argonian child in game. haven't tried them yet, but might be worth a look.
  3. Would it be possible to create a follower that could smithy, alchemy, and/or enchant? I'm not sure if followers get perks so the results might not be that great. This would save me so many perks for combat abilities especially for my mage character that I don't see how I can get everything I want even if she eventually reaches max level.
  4. Thank you for the link, as to the other comment. Every post I've read about resurrecting/respawning says that the convos and merchant options no longer work and that's been my findings as well when I've tried it. Hopefully the mod you linked will work though for a new game at least, won't do anything for my current game unfortunately. I've added a lot of new mods anyway so a new file isn't a bad idea as the game is completely different now with changes made by some of the mods.
  5. Is there a mod out there that replaces the merchants killed in the vampire raids? I'm getting to the point in my game where I am having trouble finding stores open because so many have died. I guess that's the problem with being a thief, lots of late night in town loads that can spawn the attacks. At first the guards did a good job, but typically one guard would die per attack and eventually there weren't many guards left so the vamps went a little crazy. I guess another option would be a mod that makes all guards and/or merchants essential but would that cause problems with quest related to the war?? I've only had the game less that two weeks so haven't progressed a long way yet. Having fun playing with the Hearthfire houses but starting to have difficulty finding necessary ingredients (mainly horns) because most, if not all, of the general merchants are now deceased. I've taken up mountain-climbing as a hobby to try and find goats lately but not all drop them and it's random whether you find them at all it seems.
  6. Couldn't someone just take a screenshot and make a hanging picture with it to act like a window? Wouldn't be the same, nothing moving or anything, but maybe would be better than nothing?
  7. I've seen lots of posts about making merchants essential or resurrecting them. Would it be possible for someone to make a mod that just makes a new merchant move in after a week/month and use the same merchant chest for sales? I've never tried to make a mod so I'm not sure if this is possible, but seeing some of the mods out there and what they can do I would think there is a chance. A random name generator and picking a default character model should be easy, it's just identifying the death, making sure no one else is already scripted to take over the shop, and then somehow tying the new character to the chest. This would help in the events of vampire/bear/dragon/etc attacks on towns wiping out all the merchants. I have not played through the whole game (only had it a week so far) so I'm not sure if events later on with the war might cause issues or not.
