  1. Charging strike is phenomenal for sneak characters. It STACKS with silent roll, meaning you can blaze on in there, do a power sneak attack on someone, and have forward momentum enough hit someone before they have time to react.
  2. He's a Vigilant of Stendarr, I'd hardly call him a good guy. The Vigil are like the KKK, personally hunting down all vampires, werewolves, conjurers, daedra worshippers, or anyone who even consorts with daedra, INCLUDING good daedra like Meridia and Azura. He freaks out and attacks you to save his own life, then you have to make a choice to either kill him or be killed. That's not even murder, that's self defense. Now, listening to Molag Bal's orders to kill him before he attacks you, on the other hand, would be.
  3. Better Vampirism/Lycanthropy mods. While cool at face value, there's a severe lack of questlines dealing with them, moreso on the side of vampirism which has NO questline at all associated. The features are fine, possibly unnecessary to tweak, but we NEED quests for them.
  4. I've found myself a big fan of the Shadow Stone. Rarely do I need more than one emergency getaway a day. Playing Nightingale gives me two (frenzy ftw!)
  5. 1: The dark brotherhood is not INHERENTLY evil in the elder scrolls world. It's just full of twisted, evil people. They do fill a niche at times, with much needed political assassinations, or the killing of bandit chiefs. That's a highly philosophical debate, however. Regardless, in a culture that thrives in violence, Skyrim, like Black Marsh, is one of the few places in the world I would imagine the common people to have less connotations of "evil" pointed at them, when they, themselves are a violent warrior people. 2: The guards are people with their own lives beyond their job, Some guards supporting you for your job in the DB could be a result of you killing someone (heck, even the Emperor) who they, personally, wanted dead.
  6. Very tough matchup. Morrowind is certainly worth a notice. It is one of, if not THE best RPG ever made. My tastes are a bit broader though, and I still find it hard to not mention Kingdom Hearts II, Final Fantasy 7, Legend of Dragoon, and the first two Golden Sun games. Medieval (the skeleton one, not the RTS) too, perhaps.
  7. Far more immersive than Oblivion, less so than Morrowind. You have more choices, but it still feels like you really don't.
  8. I would consider myself more the lone agent in the shadows, in a RP sense. I do what I must for the good of the whole, even when it might appear as wrong. I my eyes, the ends do not justify the means, but there are always smarter, less predictable ways to solve problems. Think somewhat close to Veris the Spider, from the Song of Ice and Fire series, though we have our differences. Perhaps more the Cheshire Cat.
  9. http://www.nodiatis.com/pub/23.jpg http://www.wizards.com/magic/images/whatcolor_iswhite.jpgTake the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz. I thought my color ended up a bit strange, considering my class.
  10. Play the Thieves guild or the Dark Brotherhood (or both) as a stealth character, but instead of plowing through everything, play gathering contracts (especially the thieves guild's minor contracts), and just have fun as a treasure hunter. Don't go jack of all trades, go rogue, and SPECIALIZE. Focus heavily on sneak, pickpocket, archery, speech, and put some minor points into one-handed, alchemy, and smithing. Argonian sounds GREAT for that. Never dive too quickly into a long storyline unless you feel up to it, and instead explore dangerous areas you may be ill-equipped to handle. Avoid the main quest like the plague, and the moment you get your first shout, abandon it entirely. Play on Master difficulty to make it feel like you are inferior, and getting ganged up on is a death sentence. Travel the world, stealing from who you please, and helping those who you feel deserve help. THAT should give you a very specialized and very specific mode of play. Heck, the majority of your time wont even be spent dungeon-delving, mostly because it'll be too dangerous. It'll be spent around towns, and exploring underwater. Stalking marks from underwater, and using lakes to avoid the guards should be extra fun as well. Your main goal is to get a nice house, a lover, and then work your way up the financial food chain until you own fully-built property in all of the holds, collecting rare trophies along the way.
  11. Balmora's a smoldering crater in the ground. Most of Vvardenfell either doesn't exist anymore, or is completely inhospitable. If you read around, you find out there's been an eruption at Red Mountain, and Morrowind is basically nonexistent as a nation at this point.
  12. Dual wielding on any difficulty above normal is suicide. The DPS just isn't worth the lack of skill/survivability/mobility/etc. Dual wielding's a cute toy, not an effective means of fighting anything more than a single target.
  13. If you want boring, go full archer. If you want to make it fun, also train in shields, and use daggers. Max out your Archery tree first, but also invest a lot of points into sneak, and put enough into onehanded to get +100% damage and charging dash. Once you get silent roll, charging dash becomes a fun way of dispatching 2 people with a dagger before they have time to react. Archery will be your main method of assault, but you can get rid of high-risk targets so much more effeciently with a dagger (plus, mix and matching is fun.) Never, ever, ever single-class a character. It's boring. Always dual class, or invest odd options in your character (like rogue with conjuring, or arcane archer.)
  14. Morrowind > Skyrim > Cyrodiil Man, I hated cyrodiil, I hate the empire, and HAVE hated it since Morrowind. Why in the world would I want to play in Imperial Central? Everyone was so cheerful, and lighthearted it was just sickening. In Morrowind, everyone hated you until you proved you were worth being called anything but Outlander or N'Wah. In Cyrodiil, everyone greets you with a firm hello. Boring. Skyrim's a better game than Oblivion, by far. I miss Morrowind for the story, the continent, and the overall feel of the game. The only things I'm missing from Oblivion are common dealings with Daedra, and the Dark Brotherhood.
