basic onehanders... i'd say i prefer the akaviri katana (i refuse to use the new spelling)

my first character... female, dunmer: Katriin Valeugu she was born in the imperial city 30 years before the thalmor war. her parents were retainers for house Redoran before morrowind was decimated by redmountian & the argonian invasion. her parents gave her a traditional tutelage in the solder's art, and she became a mildly well known mercenary. when she was at the age of 30 the dominion invaded the imperial province and she fought for the empire on a contract basis. When the thalmor sacked the imperial city she was critically wounded & nearly killed, her family was killed, however. With the chaos in the city after the invasion the imperial army claimed they had misplaced her contract, & her personal information so they couldn’t pay her (which may or may not be the case), on top of that her room in the tiber septim hotel was looted & everything she owned was gone. Now, having not a spare coin to pay for proper treatment she was forced to deal with substandard care (and in no condition to argue), and her injuries took a decade to heal to an acceptable degree. After spending a decade in hospice recovering, she had found her skills degraded and she decided to retire. 20 years later she finds herself arrested in skyrim. ---edit typo

why not do both? i've done dawnguard with a lvl10 character as well as with a lvl128 (i use an uncapper) character, the latter was easier than the former i have to admit.

still trying to figure that one out myself. but it would feel unique though. kind of like morrowind i think, the odd man out etc.

i've played the TES games since TESII daggerfall (i was a little to young to really get into that one). out of those 4 games morrowind is still my favorite one of the bunch, but alas... i added far too many mods, and added modern music to the jukebox before realizing i made it unstable and non-immersive (immersion is a big thing to me now, and i'm a lot more sensitive to it these days) and i almost don't want to redo the 300 or so mods i've gotten for it. would take me months just to sort out my load order after reinstalling everything. well why i was responding to your post in the first place. you can't get morrowind to run on win7? it took a small amount of tinkering (about what a slightly complex mod might require) but it's running fine on my rig. i avoided playing oblivion until it had been out for some time, knowing it would be inferior (for my taste in gaming at least) to morrowind, but i would be unable to return to outdated graphics. like when i avoided getting a dvd player because i had a collection of 100s of VHS tapes and i know i'd never watch them again if i had a dvd player. but, also alas... i got a dvd player, and i got oblivion, and skyrim. all good, fun games to be sure, and even though i'll likely never play it again, morrowind is still my most beloved TES game. sorry for the rant. lol ----edit and the commas. for those grammar monkeys; some of those commas are for taking note of dramatic pauses, i didn't fail english 101. i just happen to talk like i write... which some seem to find confusing.

i know i'd like a shot at the altmeri dominion myself. maybe start with repelling a dominion invasion in skyrim, followed by infiltrating valenwood to uproot the thalmor, something that gives a similar feeling to how morrowind was, the dovahkiin going undercover to unseat the dominion in valenwood. then ending with an invasion of the summerset isles. think i might be dreaming a bit there though. seems like a stretch for a single DLC pack. however, i can hope... I hope.

i decided to do a new runthrough with a new toon. when i reach dragonsreach to tell the Jarl riverwood is in danger, Irileth inches towards me with blade in hand... and everyone with a weapon or spell soon turns hostile and tries to kill me. this is a first for me. my skyrim v. is 1.7.7.0 (i think that's right) here's my load order, it's kind of massive i know. characters ranging from lvl-69 to lvl-151. combat, stealth and magic chara-types. gold ranging from 250,000 drakes to 3,000,000 (and counting) no such thing as too much gold in an rpg, IMHO.

i was just saying that just removing all your mods at the same time might cause more issues that had not been there before that point, making bug detection more troublesome. if it didn't kill your savegame right then & there. and if you had 100 mods and skyrim was working fine until recently, the likelihood is it was a mod that was added recently, if that fails mods that logically effect Breezehome and few if any other locations would be next. then if that failed then the full list of mods. but this is all moot (and more a matter of personal preference then who is right or wrong) as our esteemed & learned colleague David Brasher seems to have fixed your savefile. However, i do enjoy a good discussion with those who know a thing or two, or even have a differing viewpoint… sometimes we just need a change of scenery. Let’s just try to avoid killing each other with kindness, or pronouns. Pronouns can be sticky. (you did get the pronoun thing was a joke right? just because i've been sick for the last week doesn't mean i've had a lobotomy that zapped my IQ to that of a carrot ;) )

try having your character do an indoors animation. such as sitting in a chair, or going into the market in whiterun & chopping some wood. sounds like an issue i was having a while ago.

don't do that. unless you only have a few mods installed. skyrim is rather temperamental about adding or removing large amounts of content at the same time. try removing one thing at a time first. with skyrim never purge a save file if it can be helped.

didn't one of the last patches (before dawnguard) nerf large address aware for both the built in beth fix as well as those 4gb mods?

in this dark brotherhood playthrough, since my character has returned from the dawnstar sanctuary to kill that jester, every time i enter the last remaining active sanctuary i get people being rude & saying i've broken a tenet. and i have to pay that redguard a fine to start taking contracts again. now unless i'm doing something i shouldn't be doing and don't realize it, i don't know what's going on. is this a dawnguard bug maybe?

well before this point his approval rating is 100 (love), and did the whole relationship sequence up to that point. after the post landsmeet talk ar=90 (friendly)

i'm running my 6th (i think it's 6) playthrough with DA:O... I’m using the human female noble pc. after the landsmeet, when alistair is supposed to break-up with the pc, you can try to talk him out of it. on this playthrough i hardened him after that spat with his sister, then actually convinced him to marry my character... when the dialogue ended i got hit with that pesky -10 disposition for al, and he is giving the break-up dialogue back at camp. i've read about this bug in passing somewhere, and can't seem to find the post/page again. I’m running the ultimate edition updated to 1.5, the only mods I have are Natural bodies (all in one v3) & BSC (aka: better sex cutscreens) anyone know of a fix here? or can my character just continue on and all will be ok in the post game festivities?
