i just finished a warspace marathon game on impossible ironman. The good thing about the warspace mod is that you are not hardpressed to research new weapons. you could actually pretty much finish the game with the starting weapons entirely. what i realized when playing is that enemies like heavy floaters, sectoid commander, elite mutons, sectopods don't come into the game as long as you haven't done the base assault. i think the biggest challenge on warspace marathon is to find out the right research path... and when to put a satellite on a new continent. if you can riddle out those two things, you have probably already won.
