  1. I made a simple MOD with a straightforward premise: Walk up to a custom created NPC, inquire about their faction, join their faction. The dialogue and join options work and so I can join the faction. When I check my player menu my Faction and my rank are listed but my rank badge icon never shows (it's a DDS file, the other DDS image in my MOD loads properly). Also, if I try to console command myself into the faction using the FormID listed by CS it won't work. I have to get the first two digits of from an in-game object loaded by my MOD and replace the first two digits of the CS FormID to make the SetFactionRank console command work, and my badge icon still won't show. My NPC reacts and speaks as she should and I'm still appearing as a member of the faction at the lowest entry rank so the MOD is largely doing what I want, but Oblivion just doesn't want to recognize the faction FormID or show my related rank icon... Now I have many other MODs downloaded and plugged into my game so am I correct in assuming that for my faction's FormID to work properly in the game and display my rank badge that I have to load my MOD in a specific order? That's pretty limiting if so. =/ Any advice to a novice is appreciated... Cheers!
  2. Thanks a bunch! I downloaded "BSA Unpacker", extracted the NIF file i wanted, and fabbed my cooking pot complete with stew. Looks great in the fireplace... Cheers!
  3. Apologies if this has been asked previously, but, now that I've begun experimenting with making a MOD I've noticed that a number of the NIF files my Oblivion game typically relies on are nowhere to be found in my Oblivion Meshes directory, notably (just to name two) skeletonbeast.nif and cookingpot.nif. Now I've loaded a number of MODs into my current install, notably Robert's body replacer for male and female, but would that wipe out the Characters\_Male\skeletonbeast.nif? Also, I was trying to make a cooking pot with items in it that you could remove or even put more items in (just for a lark) but I can't find the cookingpot.nif in the Clutter\Farm folder where Construction Set says it should be. Selecting show hidden files in my OS settings does not make them appear, at least not where I'm looking for them, and I can't find them with Construction Set or NifSkope. Again, as I'm new at the modding thing, am I missing something very simple or do I have to uninstall Oblivion and reinstall fresh just to have access to these NIF files? Cheers!
