Hello Nexus Forums. I am in the process of creating a custom creature in the GECK but after several hours of troubleshooting, I've reached the limit of my capabilities. My intention is to make an Imp from Doom 3, complete with sound effects, fireball throwing capabilities, and a disintegration effect. So far, the most notable things I've been able to accomplish is the custom sounds, the actual "fireball weapon", deciding on a preexisting base creature which is the Imp demon in Momod.... and that's it. I will admit I am not very experienced with modding but I'm a quick learner. Now, with all the background information out of the way, here's what I need help with. I can't seem to get my Imp to equip and use the "fireball" weapon I created. It is in his weapon list and inventory. I guess it might be because the Imp Demon in Momod is based on a baby deathclaw which doesn't even have throwing animations. The other thing I can't figure out is how to get my Imp to have the laser disintegration effect when he dies. This is my first custom NPC and I would GREATLY appreciate any help! Thank you.

HA! HA! HAAA!!!!!!! YES!!!!! I FINALLY figured it out!!! I made it out to be much more complicated than it actually was. I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner! Then again, my one blind spot is UNDER MY NOSE. I had "I Dream Of Electric Sheep" installed and my character had the cyborg eye perk which caused the game to crash when I changed my race. The solution was so simple. I just unselected the "I Dream Of Electric Sheep" plugin and that fixed it! Wow. All that time I wasted getting so frustrated. CURSE YOU MY ONE BLIND SPOT!!!!!

I've searched and searched but I can't find any information on how to implement custom scope reticles. I've downloaded custom dds files but I can't figure out how to get them to replace other scope reticles. How is there such little information on custom scope reticles?

Ok, so if I can't change my race by editing a save file, then just tell me I'm screwed.

Ok, I'll give that a try. I do have doubts that it will make a difference though. I can't quite remember......., but I think I did at least have a custom hair when I did the new game experiment. "Here goes. I just hope dataDyne hasn't done anything to prevent this......"

I really don't mean to be offensive at all, but I don't think you or anyone who has replied has actually READ my posts. The replies seem to get more and more irrelevant to my problem. I NEVER said ANYTHING about not being able to load my saves. However, I'll try to articulate a little bit more on my previous post. I didn't uninstall anything because I need to set my character to a default race first. I did a test to see if changing my race in a NEW game would crash. I selected the "she" race with Doc Mitchel and then I did <showracemenu> and I changed my race with NO PROBLEM. I then loaded many previous saves, even ones that were long ago. I tried to change my race in each of them and they crashed just the same as my most current save. This lead me to the ASSUMPTION that a corruption in ALL my saves is causing my game to crash when I select a different race in the race menu. So, what I BELIEVE is my only option, and what I am asking for, is a way to change my race OUT OF GAME by editing my save file. If there is any other way to solve my problem, I would appreciate that as well. Is my problem hopeless?

Ok, well I do <showracemenu> and the character creation pops up just fine. The same goes for mods that have an autodoc that allows me to change my race. It shows the options for gender and there are no problems switching between the two. I click next to the race options. THIS is where I have a problem. When I click ANY race other than my current one, modded race or vanilla, the game INSTANTLY crashes to desktop. As long as I don't touch the race, everything is fine. I started up a new game just to test it and I had no problems with initial setup with doc. Then I did <showracemenu> and changed my race with no problem. Is my save corrupted or something? It has to be and if so, my saves must have been corrupted for a LONG time. I've loaded past saves from the bottom of the list and I still have the same problem. I CAN'T get rid of the mod or its requirements until I get back to vanilla race. There has got to be a way I can edit my race out of game. Does anyone know how to change race by editing a save file because I think that is the only option.

I've completely exhausted my debugging capabilities. I've tried anything and everything for months. (short story) When I select a different race in the race menu, the game crashes as soon as I click it. (full story) I installed Shojo Race Vegas 09s, by eomanv, as well as its requirements and used the "She" race for quite some time. However, I've been unable to use many other mods due to conflicts. The mod as well as its requirements are relatively taxing to my system and to remove them would definitely benefit my game's stability and performance. So I finally decided that I've had my fun with it and it was time to get rid of it. This is where I ran into a BIG problem. I follow the mod author's instructions to uninstall, but when I select a vanilla race (or any other race) the game instantly crashes. I have TOO MUCH progress to just start another game. Agh.... my eyes are killing me from looking at my screen for so long. I made one more effort to fix it today with no luck of course. I'll have to explain more if needed later. All I can tell is I SOMEHOW have to change my race OUT OF GAME like editing a save file. Please help, I'm banging my head on the wall here.
