I tried doing the Reset input Layer method, going to previous saves all the way to the beginning of the game and uninstalling and reinstalling the game and NOTHING. Worse of all, I read it can get fixed by beating the Reunions quest, but when I get to Fort Hagen, the goddamn elevator that's supposed to take you to Kellog doesn't work, even though it's not boarded up. It's driving me f*cking crazy! Does ANYONE know any way I can fix this damn thing?!

I was playing the game with a Dualshock 3 with SCP Tools, but my DS3 died so I got a DS4 to replace it. Now, the controller works fine, with all the buttons being detected by the game and working properly, but the Aim and Fire commands disappeared! L2 and R2 don't do aiming or firing when all the other buttons are mapped to the other commands, and in the Control Settings menu, they don't show up for rebinding! I tried to validate the game's files to see if it was maybe an issue with a modified file, but STeam said that all the files were validated. Does anyone have any idea what the hell's going on?

Hey, guys, just wanted to give you the heads up, I finally solved the CTD issue :) Turns out, I DID have my load order pretty much perfect. The actual problem is a minor mod conflict Rigmor of Bruma has with Immersive Armors. If Immersive Armors tries to do its initial configuration while Rigmor of Bruma is active, it causes the game to CTD. You just need to disable Rigmor.esp, let Immersive Armors do its thing until it's fully configured, save the game, reactivate Rigmor.esp and reload the save. Rigmor is loaded with no issues and the game runs perfectly.

I made sure I only cleaned those files that needed it, yes. The ones that had messages that they should not be cleaned I left alone, and I didn't clean Skyrim.esm, which I know to be left alone as well. As for the intro, I don't even get that far. I get done with character creation and a few seconds after I get the CTD. I have Alternate Start, and I was planning on doing it somewhere else other than Vanilla, but like I said, I don't even get that far. Maybe I should try Vanilla character creation instead of RaceMenu?

This is seriously driving me friggin' nuts. I have a modest number of mods installed, nowhere near 255, I have meticulously cleaned them all, optimized the load order with loot and I still get a CTD almost immediately after my character's done being made. I turn to you guys now, cause I have no clue what else I could be doing wrong. First of all, my computer's info: -Windows 10 64x -AMD FX-8120 3.1Ghz 4 Core -8GB DDR3 RAM -AMD Radeon HD 7900 (Yes, it's old, but I don't have a bazillion dollars to upgrade yet). I've been getting a bug on my game that's driving me crazy: weapons are spawning with missing mods or no mods at all (making the weapons invisible), and in the weapons workbench, the different mod categories are missing. I've been uninstalling weapon mods like crazy trying to fix it with no success. If any of you guys have had this bug manifest and have been able to fix it, please help! Hey, guys, I know this particular bug is driving everyone crazy, so here's a guide to help you avoid the bug and be able to play the game as modded as you can make it. This guide is based on experimentation on my part, and so far it has been working for me well. First of all, don't consider this a be-all-end-all guide, this is merely based on experimentation and is not a true bug fix. A robot might show up invisible later that I hadn't noticed, but so far I haven't encountered any. Second of all, unfortunately, if you have a save that has invisible bots, that save is unfortunately useless. If the save has the bug, it'll have the bug even if you deactivate all mods. I confirmed this experimenting with Codsworth in the prologue, with him staying invisible even with the mods turned off but showing up visible by immediately starting a new game. Basically, you need a save that doesn't have the bug or a new game to be able to avoid the bug. Third, the bug is more likely to occur the more mods you have installed, so if you encounter the bug, start getting rid of as many mods as you can live without. Just get rid of those you rarely have use for or that don't make a big difference towards your enjoyment of the game. Okay, now here's the most important part of the process. You need to follow this STEP BY STEP. This is IMPERATIVE for it to work: 1. Turn off all autosaving. The game must not save by itself at any moment during the process. 2. Start a new game with no mods active and play through the prologue all the way through. You must not have ANY mods active until later. 3. Here's the main gist of it: when you finally get out of Vault 111, you need to find robots to use as reference to avoid the bug. Luckily, there are three robots within a short walking distance from Vault 111: Codsworth in Sanctuary, the Protectron at Wicked Shipping Fleet Lockup (south of Vault 111 past the electric tower) and the Security Bot at the Robotics Disposal Ground (east/northeast of Vault 111 circling the lake). Go to all three places so you can fast travel to all three and verify that all three are visible. 4. After you have all three fast travel markers, do a manual save, NOT A QUICKSAVE.This will now be your CONTROL SAVE. After doing the control save, quit the game and start activating mods in small groups. Don't do it one-by-one, cause you'll go crazy with how time-consuming it'll be, but don't try to install them all at once cause you won't be able to detect problems as they rise. Groups of, say, between 5 and 10 mods are good, depending on how many mods you have. I'm nearing the 255 plug-in cap, for example, so I do them in groups of 10. Now every time you activate a group of mods, start the game again and load the control save. After loading it, fast travel to all three locations to verify the robots are visible. CHECK ALL THREE ROBOTS. If they are, the bug has been avoided so far. DO NOT SAVE, but instead quit the game and either write down or screencap which mods are installed so far so you keep track. Keep doing this process until you get the bug. When you get the bug, quit without saving and check that particular group of mods to see which one is triggering the bug. If the mod is something you can live without, just uninstall it and continue the process. If you CAN'T live without it, deactivate each mod one-by-one while keeping the mod that triggers the bug active. When the bug doesn't trigger, it means you've found the mod that conflicts with the bug-inducing mod, and you can uninstall that one instead. And there you have it. It's a bit of a time consuming process, but with some patience, you can have a game loaded to the gills with mods and avoid the bug successfully. Happy playing!

I don't bother with the patch just because most bugs and issues that I've had with the game have already been fixed by a mod, so unless it's a major update that adds new features or overhauls existing ones, it's not really worth it. And honestly, I've so far felt that Fallout 4 is actually the most stable game release Bethesda's done yet. I haven't had any crashes unless they're mod-involved (and thanks to NMM's interface, I've identified those easily), consistent frame rate with nary a stutter and no quest-breaking bugs so far, knock on wood.

Here's my issue: I don't know what mod is causing it, but there's a mod that has bugged out my Charisma stat, and it's showing -28! And it's not a chem effect, at least not a temporary one, or any clothing I'm wearing that modified my stats. Has anyone had this bug happen to them too? If so, which mod is causing it?
