  1. Hello, lol. I saw the window and I thought there might be something to check there or something, but I when I clicked on it, nothing happened. I was reeally tired when I got to this point, so maybe I messed up. I will take another look. Thanks again. Edit: Yep. When I first tried to export, I saw that little window, but the text inside was all selected including the checkbox. So, everything was highlighted in blue and the checkbox just kind of looked like a square icon. I still clicked in it but didn't see a check appear and figure "well that's not it then" and just clicked ok. I guess I mis-clicked or something. It worked a treat this time. The only thing different now is that I have updated Outfit Studio and I am not so tired. Thank you again. Now I just have to figure out how to change texture file path in FO4Edit.
  2. I have loaded a vanilla Hooded Rags nif in Outfit Studio and deleted a part of it (the hood), then exported it to a new nif. I then replaced the vanilla nif with my new one. Everythings looks good until I run my character around. The physics are messed up now. Theres a small pouch on the back and the scarf. They float weirdly away from the body when I move around now. Is there a way to export a vanilla game nif, make an alteration and then export it to a new nif and keep the physics of the original outfit? Thank you for any input or advice. Thanks for looking.
  3. That's the one. I've watched a few tutorials and figured out why my first try using Outfit Studio didn't work. I just deleted the body_cloth:1 at the bottom of the list in the picture you posted above. However, after watching a few tutorials, I could not get the little red circle that is supposed to pop up when you select the mask tool. The videos did mention that you will be deleting the vertices after selecting what you want to mask etc, so I just right clicked on the body_cloth:1 and instead of clicking delete, I clicked Delete Vertices and exported to nif. I then replaced the vanilla body nif (for male ) and loaded up the game. The cap was still there. I used FO4edit to make a rough version of a standalone outfit and removed the cap references in the ArmorAddon section and saved. Loaded up the game and there sure enough, I had a hoodless, capless set of Rags. The physics were janky though. For both the Vanilla Hooded Rags that I replaced the nif of as well as the new standalone. Gotta figure out what to do there. Once I figure that out, I have to figure out how to make the standalone outfit point to it's own nifs and textures, so i can revert the vanilla Hooded Rags back to original. I can point the outfit to its own nif, but I run into trouble when I try to change the file path for the texture. It doesn't just let me change the file path like the nif. It opens a text field like you would get to change the file path but it's just a string of numbers. At any rate, Thank You again for the help. Seems like I've almost got this figured out.
  4. I apologize, I should have looked at everything carefully beforehand, but I'm going to mention this here for clarification. After loading the body nif and the cap nif I think I have determined the below. The Hooded rags have: a body nif for M and F which seems to be the body and the actual hood. a cap nif for M and F which appears to be the knitted cap under the actual hood. a cap face bones nif for M and F which I don't imagine will be needed since I am getting rid of the cap and hood. and 1st person body nifs for M and F. I have: a retexture .dds file for the body (which seems to include the actual hood part of the outfit) and one for the cap. So, I think I am correct in my understanding now, that I WILL need to change the mesh and/or material to get rid of the hood. I need to go watch some tutorials for Outfit Studio. It has been too long and I don't remember how anything works. Like using the mask tool and so forth. I am functionally using it for the first time. I will go through and try these different things. See what I can manage. Thanks again.
  5. Thank you for the reply. First, let me backtrack and clarify something I misstated previously. The retexture I am going to be using for this has its own dedicated hood texture file. Separate from the body texture file. So, two .dds files. One for the body and one for the head. It's been a good while since I messed with this stuff but I remember using gimp to do stuff with transparency so that only certain parts of a mesh were visible, and others were invisible. And I had someone helping me along the way. I do not remember what exactly I did. I am hoping it is possible to just use the .dds file and just make it (the hood) invisible. But I will try to follow along what you said and see how far I can get. Thanks again.
  6. I am trying to remove the hood from the Hooded Rags outfit. My end goal is to make a standalone outfit using a texture replacer for this outfit, with the hood part removed. But that part comes later. I tried loading the Hooded Rags in Outfit studio and deleting the hood part, which seemed like it was going to work, but didn't. I then remembered doing something a couple of years ago with making certain parts of a texture transparent, so that they were not visible. However, I do not remember how that worked. Also, this time I want to make the whole hood texture transparent/invisible. It has its own dedicated texture file, so I should just be able to make the whole texture for it invisible. Is anyone able to help me with this? Thanks for looking.
  7. Thank you for the responses. To clarify, I am interested in doing this myself, without a mod. Is it possible to change how many points you get without using a mod from someone else?
  8. I am wondering whether it is possible to change how many special points you get via an ini file or some other simple way without using a mod. Just to help minimize how many mods I have in my load order. Thank you for any help.
  9. Very cool. Thank you for the pic and the help. I'll go take a look and see if I can find it. I swear I looked at everything I could find. I must've missed it. Thanks again. Yep. I found it. Descaled all of a set of pieces and hit save. Here's hoping. Thanks again.
  10. No, I'm avoiding scrap mods this time. It mucks with Sim Settlement City plans sometimes. I think I have it working. It only has three things in the mod. Two esp's (one of which is marked main .BA2) and a UVD file inside of a Folder named Fallout 4.esm. I have no idea what that is and it wants to replace a file named the same thing already in my Data folder. I put the two esps in my data folder and enabled the one plugin that showed up in NMM. Ignored the UVD file (until I get some info from someone who knows what it is and how to use it). The mod seems to be working. I can scrap those three houses now. I don't know what my ignoring the UVD file will mean but it must be there for a reason. Hope I haven't ganked my game. :)
  11. I am trying to get Sanctuary V2 to work in my game. I've got it in my NMM mods section but it will not enable. When this happens, I usually just try to get it manually set up and add it from file or just stick it in the Data folder or whatever the situation calls for. However, I am unfamiliar with how this mod should be done and I wanted to see if anyone could help with how to get this thing into my game if I need to do it manually. Thank you for any info and help. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/29833
  12. In the vanilla game, when you wear armor like leather or combat armor etc, it scales up and kind of floats above your arm or just gets bigger. I imagine this is to avoid clipping. I found a mod on here that removes this for all of the over armor in the vanilla game and it makes for a nice, slimmer look to the armor. Not so bulky. It clips for sure, but I don't mind. The mod author mentioned something along the lines of their having just ticked or unticked something to do with scaling in the CK for this effect. I would love to do this with a couple of modded over armors but I cannot find anything like what they mentioned on their mod page. They have disabled comments so I cannot ask there. Does anyone know how to make an over armor from a mod not scale and thus be more form fitting and not so bulky looking? Thank you for any info or help.
  13. I have been wanting to dip a toe into modding for a while. My first idea that I would like to try is changing the color of a piece of clothing from one mod to the color of another piece of clothing from another mod. Maybe even just changing any piece of clothings color. I'm not sure how it all works. I specifically want to try changing the cloth coat from the shirtless mod from light tan to the color of Preston's coat that has been changed by OldWolfe's brown and green recolor of the Minutemen. Basically making a light tan coat into a darker brown, leathery type color. But I am open to any kind of color changing know how. Where should I begin? What programs do I need? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks for looking.
