  1. Unfortunately I've never had mine crash when adding custom music, so I really don't know what to tell you about that. The only real big problem that I've noticed with adding custom music is the way that Bethesda has the music coding set up, making it to where if you get into a battle with a dragon, the music never stops until you either reload a current save file(which you can save after the dragon is dead and that current save will reset the music) or let the music finish. Hm....*thinks*..Have you made sure that the file format and the name the song is replacing is the same as what you want to replace is all correct? It should be in .xwm file format. For instance, the song you want to replace should be encoded to the .xwm file format which I described above how to make it into that format and the title should be the same as the song you want to replace, such as mus_maintheme.xwm for the file's name that would replace the title music. I really don't know much more about it other than that may be the problem. Are you running a steam bought version? If not then that could also be your problem.
  2. Hey just came across your post. I've found out that the music for Skyrim is actually located in the Sounds.bsa file, but as far as how to change it I don't know any way yet. However, I've read a few other places that you can just make a music folder in the data folder and place songs in that folder the same way that it shows in the sounds.bsa and it should work. I haven't tested this yet, but if it works then I'll let you know. n_n Might take me a few hours, but I'll be back with a reply if it works or not. :EDIT: Okay so here is the deal with how to change the music for Skyrim. Download something like BSAopt or BSACommander and open up the Skyrim - Sounds. bsa music folder through either, then extract them to where ever you wish. Also make sure that you have xwmaencode.exe, which can be downloaded with the Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010). Once you've downloaded and installed it, open up command prompt. Make sure that when you type in the file names for the .xwm that they match up with the names of the files you wish to replace and that the files you wish to convert are in the same folder as the xwmaencode.exe, otherwise this won't work. Type in 'xwmaencode <insertfilename.wav> <insertfilename.xwm>' then press enter. For example, to make '1.wav' into the main menu music, type 'xwmaencode 1.wav mus_maintheme.xwm and press enter. Make sure to put these files in the same directory as they are shown in the Skyrim - Sounds.bsa, and put all folders used into a folder named Music then just place that into the Skyrim Data folder. This all should work. It worked for me. I already tested it. If it doesn't seem to work for anyone, then it's probably something on your end not working correctly. Sorry if some things are confusing, not really good with descriptions. lol But if someone has questions feel free to ask away.
  3. Finally started to learn Blender so now I'm trying to make this mod happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Okay I tried to do what everyone said, but when you say to change the destination, did you mean my entire oblivion folder cause if so I can't do that since I have vista and my game seems to have a problem running through the standard install of oblivion which is why my install is like this: D:\Games. And if you mean in Nifskope, could you please explain how to change the destination like how you said above? I'm still new to the whole modding thing. n_n; Thanks in advance. open file in nifskope, open the details pane (press F2), expand ninode 0, expand any nitristrips/shapes (and any ninodes that have further trishapes/strips) and then expand any niTexturingProperties, then change the address tot he texture in the nisourcetexture (by double clicking in the name to \textures\whateverpathinsideoftexturestoyourfile\yourfile.dds Pacific Morrowind Okay that worked. I could change it that way. Thanks a lot for clearing it up for me. n_n

  6. I just recently started watching the 12 Kingdoms anime and thought to myself that the creatures/monsters in that anime looked pretty cool. But unfortunately I'm not any good with the 3D model programs. However someone who is may be able to make them. I would also like to use them in my mod. The Dragon Caverns player home/quest line if anyone can. They would be given credit for it, if I get permission. n_n !!!!This topic is now dead!!!!!!! I finally learned how to create stuff in Blender.
  7. Okay thanks for the help everyone. I'll try that and see if it works.
  8. I have my game installed under a non-standard file directory for Oblivion. How do I get my custom textures/meshes packed so they'll work for other people? The standard install shows some people a purple shader instead of the textures I set up in Nifskope. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Yeah, same giant, mechanical, and animal-like robots that people pilot. Kinda confused about the no offense part though, but its just an idea that I had the other day and thought would be awesome to see. *scratches her head* I guess....I guess I'm just a big zoid person. Hehe. And the weapons actions, for instance let us take the command wolf's 50mm Anti-Zoid Double Barrelled Beam Cannon, it would be based off spell animations like Midas Magic but more unique if I can learn how to make new textures/meshes/scripts/and whatever else goes into making spells. As of right now, I'm currently still in the progress of finishing my first mod, the "Dragon Caverns Home", which is already released as a player home mod only, but now I'm working on adding quests and the storyline to it so people can work for it instead of getting it for free. Especially since everyone knows, you don't just get a house for nothing, right? Anyways, like I said, guess I'm just a big fan of the zoids anime and game series. n_n;;;
  10. Hi everyone, I know that most people have been getting into companions lately and I too have been wanting to have my own companion. But I didn't really care for the idea of having a human or beast following me, so I got to thinking that it would be awesome to have a zoid for a companion/way to travel around Cyrodiil instead of on foot/horseback. I'm still learning how to mod myself but I'm also going to start learning how to create new creatures and hopefully make my own working zoid. The problem is that I'm not to smart when it comes to working with 3ds Max, so its going to be quite a while before I get any progress on that. It just came to mind of having a zoid to be a companion/transportation around Cyrodiil, so I thought I'd just suggest that in case someone who has more experience would like to take up the mod or even work with me on it. I'm not saying I need help, just that I'm just now beginning modding so things aren't going to be easy for me. One of the key features for the zoid would be actual working weapons and different speeds varying on the zoid. For instance, the fastest zoid would be Liger Zero Jager and the slowest would be like the Cannon Tortoise. As for the way the weapons would work, they would actually fire lasers or whatever ammo is used for that particular zoid. Take for example, the Berzerk Fury, the charged particle gun would actually fire a single laser beam that would travel the straight path in front of it. Maybe even give them AIs for doing stuff on their own, or making them just a tad bit bigger than a horse and having a polymorph spell put on it so that the player character disappears when the spell is used and only the zoid is visible (for those of you who've see polymorph spells then you already know what I mean n_n). Anyways, that is all that I can think of for now, so I'm going to get back to my first mod that I've been working on. But if anyone feels up to it, then I say go for it and if anyone needs more of an idea then you know how to find me (points to her icon and name). And thanks for hearing me out and taking your time to read this. :thanks:
