I have recently decided to go back to playing Skyrim after a few years. However, when I reinstalled and started up the game, it was lagging severely, to the point of being unplayable, even at the lowest graphical settings. Also, the loading times have increased greatly. Is there a known fix to this? Has anyone else had this problem in the past in the last few years? I only use a handful of small mods and have all the DLC and the Texture Pack.

I know this may sound like a noob question to some, but I have to ask, what are the best mods for improving load times, performance, and frame rate in Skyrim? There are so much to choose from, so I wanted to ask which ones are the best to use overall.
