  1. Thanks a lot for all this advice and time you have put into helping me figure this out. I got my computer yesterday from my friend who helped me build it and put windows on it and he ran some benchmarks on it to test the system and told me that it was on average getting 45FPS on high end graphics and multiple things happening at once lowest it hit was 41FPS so I am hoping that means I should be good to at least do a few textures like 2k textures and so on. I am definitely going to take your advice for my first play through with those few mods which is honestly all I want for now. I don't plan on heavily modding my game other than what I said before so I should be good to go with this. Can't wait to get on it this afternoon and get all this going. Been a very huge help in making my first modding experience a good one. I can post my computer specs if you would like to see. I don't have it on hand but I can go onto Newegg and get my parts list from there. Edit BTW I just sent you a kudos, would have done it on the first advice just new to this forum stuff so not used to everything on here, haven't been a PC gamer in quite some time haha.
  2. Gamefever - Okay so would you be able to tell me if this would be to difficult to do easily with no complications right at the start? Roughly, I don't have my mods list on me, its on my computer at home. So I don't have the exact mod names but it was about 10 or so at the moment. I want to add 2k textures, water textures, better females mod, hair mod, cbbe texture, cbbe armor retextures, and maybe a few custom armors, and I found two weapon packs I wanted as well. and SkyUI which was the primary one I saw that made me look into getting SKSE. Anything I need to know ahead of time to make this easier? or is it pretty straight forward to get these quick and easy without any crashes. I am going to do as I was told to and go through the first part of the game with no mods, then save and start doing mods one by one and see how the textures effect the frame rate first, then go on to character textures and weapons and armor. Thanks for all the help on this.
  3. Thanks gamefever very helpful stuff. I was actually debating not using NMM and just installing each mod manually myself as I don't plan on having an excess amount of mods other than as I said before, visual textures for the game and model re textures for characters body styles and such. I'm going to start on this tonight when I get home from work and college so can't wait to do it and hopefully I don't run into any crazy problems.
  4. Thanks for the input everyone, Very helpful stuff! Hopefully everything runs smoothly my first go through, I don't want to be troubleshooting the mods the entire weekend of free time instead of playing haha. I only plan to use maybe 10 to 15mods, primarily visuals to the game and character remodels, possibly some weapon packs and armor packs for sure. So hopefully that isn't to complicated to accomplish haha.
  5. So I have been roaming these forums for the past week or two while I waited for my computer parts to come in and now finally I have it all and will be ready to go and play Skyrim starting tomorrow. I have been reading everything I could find on other people having problems with downloading and running mods and I just want to make sure that I understand the basics of this correctly so I am not stuck all day trying to get mods to work instead of enjoying the game on the PC finally. So I guess what I am trying to say is, can anyone just go over this with me and make sure I have a proper understanding of how to download and utilize the mods in the community properly. First I know I want to download the Nexus Mod Manager, then as I can tell it is easy to download and install after that, basically I just download the mod from the site and it automatically installs, updates and puts it into the correct paths for run. I plan to download BOSS because I frequently saw posts about how important it was to make sure your mods load properly and in the correct order so that it all works. But the final piece to it all is the biggest part I am confused about.. and that is the SKSE stuff. I found the download for it and everything I just want to make sure it is that easy. All I have to do is download it and then I should be good to go for all mods that need SKSE? or is there more to that I should know and understand first? Thanks for the help everyone.
  6. Yeah I know that I will have to get a different case, and also noticed that the case I now have does have poor air flow so I am going to see how it runs and possibly get a better cooling unit if needed.
  7. hoofhearted4 - The problem with the motherboard was that is is only able to handle up to a 95wat processor and the model of the Phenom II I got is actually 125wat. So I got that fixed now with a new motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 AM3+ AMD 760G HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128565 and Renn I have a 500wat PSU so I should be good in that aspect of things. Unfortunately I didn't research enough it seems so, at least from what I am being told I will be able to run these games I could not play before on my computer so that is good enough for now, I will be upgrading as I go along to get a full size motherboard and gaming build to run things perfectly. Thanks for all the feedback everyone.
  8. Well I was aiming for anything less than $500. I already have all the parts shipped to me so going to have to run it as is and upgrade down the road it seems. But from what I am understanding your saying it wont run very well as is on ultra. Other than that primarily my goal is to know, will it run well enough on games like Skyrim and most all the big games out now. Edit: Also.. reviewing my parts again now. Should of looked better but I just realized from peoples reviews and info on the Motherboard that is will not support the Processor I bought for it.. anyone able to help to confirm this? Will have to go out and get a different motherboard if that is the case... Edit: Confirmed going to have to buy a new motherboard. So any tips on that would be appreciated. Going to local computer store today to get help as well. I know that because of the small case I am limited on the motherboards I can choose.
  9. Thanks for the feedback. I forgot the case just noticed that too. The case is this: APEX TX-381-C Black Steel Micro ATX Tower Computer Case. Found the build online and just kind of upgraded certain parts for it. This was the original build I am using as a shell for my build. http://www.informatics-tech.com/build-a-cheap-400-dollar-gaming-computer-2012.html But from what you are saying it should run ultra hopefully haha. I will know for sure this weekend.
  10. Hello everyone, I am new to Nexus and modding in general but I recently ordered and should have built and running by Friday a low budget gaming PC. I researched a lot on the web and found different builds so I just wanted to get a larger view point on this build and see what others thoughts are with this. Just hoping I can run skyrim and other games on at least High settings and run texture mods fairly well. Here is the build: BIOSTAR A780L3B AM3 AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard ASUS EAH6670/DIS/1GD5 Radeon HD 6670 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card APEX AL-D500EXP 500W ATX12V Power Supply AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX G.SKILL Value Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model F3-10600CL9S-4GBNT x2 ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM running Windows 7, with about 1.5TB Thanks.
