I'm pretty concerned. Mostly because they don't seem to be able to admit that their release with Starfield was lacking. It's a feeling I had when playing the game as well, as I was constantly thinking: "Did they actually play this content themselves and find it fun?" Honestly I can't imagine they did in some cases, which caused the game to feel like a "by the numbers" job in so many places. The more I played it, the more it felt like that. So whether or not Elder Scrolls 6 or a new Fallout will be a success is largely going to depend on the passion of their management and direction. Which is something that seems to be lacking in most Microsoft games these days.

I'm not exactly sure anymore when I got it. I think it was at a certain point when I wanted to install a lot of mods for Skyrim. Sure glad that I got it when I did.

I'm not really supporting them hiding their mods. It's an action that isn't going to be effective anyhow. That said, it's their file and they can do with it what they want. I also very much don't support users going on the comment section and pressuring the authors to update. Much of this discussion started on the Discord when one author expressed frustration because they felt responsible to keep updating their material and helping others when patches rolled in. A community moderator responded in a fairly cold shoulder way: "You don't need to." While I think the moderator could have worded everything much better, he does have a point. It's not their job to fix everyone's problem. In fact it's not a job at all, it's a hobby and it should be fun for you. That was the point of my previous post: be understanding about eachother, set clear boundaries.

We should definitely support the mod makers and thank them for their hard work. It's up to the users not to complain all day and take responsibility when updating or even if you save breaks. That said, I followed the whole drama for a bit and was appalled by the behaviour and fixation some people seemed to have. I get that getting disappointed when you're really invested in something is not cool and can turn a positive emotion really sour. But you should limit yourself and define some boundaries. You're not a developer, modding should be fun for everyone involved. Once that ceases to be the case, just quit.

Seems to me it was a bit of a "perfect storm" situation with a lot of drama in a community discord and a wonky patch giving rise to a lot of negative emotions in people who put a lot of time and investment into the game. As mod users we need to look at ourselves and mostly try to be patient with mod creators, not complain en masse to them about their mods breaking upon a patch and not demanding them to be updated ASAP. At the same time I would urge mod creators not to be too emotional, or at least take the time to process the emotions, and realise that the game does not have official support yet. It's been Larian's modus operandi to be quiet for long periods while "cooking". This is not always ideal, but they don't seem to have a massive focus on PR. It's understandable and justified to ask for more communication, but do realise that communication can also lead to massive expectations and more drama. It's a bit of a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation until official support is there. I'm a noob when it comes to mod development but have been practising a bit with Blender to create an own armor. But I think I'll wait with any attempts until official support is there.

Game keeps crashing and I've run out of ways to fix it
Fdzzaigl replied to jac107's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
@OP No idea if this can help you but I tracked my issue down further. It was not in fact F4SE as I thought. I only get crashes when I launch the game through MO2. Tried some solutions on the internet but nothing really helped. Thinking of just switching to another mod manager now (even though I used MO since the dragon age days). Edit: for future reference, problem fixed by deleting default profiles and fallout4custom.ini / settings.ini in MO2 and replacing them with default ini's but updating binvalidateolderfiles=1 to default fallout4.ini. @OP I hope you get your problem fixed :S -
Game keeps crashing and I've run out of ways to fix it

I'm having the same issue as the OP. And have tracked it down to be F4SE. Installed a lot of things with a loadorder guide (Thuggyfield), game crashed out of the blue while I was still pulling an easy 60FPS on a completely new game. Did the usual like OP, kept disabling mods until I couldn't disable anything anymore and even with a new save the game kept crashing. Even checked cache integrity etc, everything. Once I started the game up with the regular launcher everything worked fine. If I put F4SE on it: crash during opening sequence when running to the vault. I'm at a loss too, given that I did a textbook install of F4SE and it has worked fine for me in the past. Any ideas welcome. -
Not sure if mesh editing is possible yet and how one would port a mesh from Unreal to Frostbite. But if at all possible I would love to have some armors / casual outfits from the previous games ported over as replacers. If / whenever power editing is possible I'd love some classics like Reave / Warp to return for biotics, some of the ME3 powers for tech / combat were super interesting as well.

I'm seeing a lot of retextures for the Dragon Priest masks (some being quite nice), but I'd rather just see the hoods removed altogether as no retexture could fit every outfit in the game. Now I don't know whether this is possible without the CK and it might be troublesome to get it to work for the beast races, but if someone could make it so the DP masks leave the rest of your head naked, that would be much appreciated!

After I finished the thieves guild storyline, somehow my game refuses to save in any way or form. Really weird, as I was playing with 1.2 yesterday and today and didn't have any problems for many hours. Sadly, Skyrim is now unplayable for me, at least for the time being. I just hope my (115 hours) save games aren't corrupted, or by Sovngarde, I will RAGE...

I find some shouts relatively underpowered, while others pack great utility. In general, the "damage" shouts (fire & ice breath) are pretty weak, I think they should at least do as much damage as comparable destuction skills and have a much shorter cooldown. I mean, these are supposed to be the shouts that dragons use, it'd be cool if your character could more or less match that when these shouts are maxed out. The storm shout could also use more damage and less friendly fire, but it should remain on a very long cooldown. The other ones all have their situational uses, though some could do with a shorter cooldown. Slow Time is currently the one I use most, it's very powerful, maybe even too much so.
