So I recently opted into the 1.5 beta, started using mods and got this:

    http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_images/underground/attachicon.gifFallout_4_No_Achievements_With_Mods.jpg

Now, I know I like mods and stroking my ego by getting achievements, so I did a little digging. When you start a save file with mods, the game marks your save with the [M] prefix. I figure the game just adds a tagline to your save data but I couldn't find it.. so I tried doing a console save (this would require re-enabling the console in the beta, which is already a mod that can be downloaded in game):

    > save SAVEFILENAME

    and got this:

    http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_images/underground/attachicon.gifdownload.jpg

It seems by saving via console, it got rid of that dreaded '[M]' tag... but I already have all the achievements and can't confirm whether this works or not.

If anyone gives this a try could you let me know if it works?

    This mod ( https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12465/? ) claims to re-enable achievements via a F4SE plugin but I can't confirm this either.

If you don't have all the achievements and this mod doesn't work, (I hate to say this, but) you can use S.A.M to unlock achievements. It's a bit dumb that Bethesda would implement this, but there are ways around it.

I believe this whole issue of save tagging was either removed when 1.5 was launched as a full release, or due to the utilization of this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12465/?

  4. I'd like to see some change in the way settler react to an attack. Currently they all rush out of base, jump off the walls and often get shot by my own deffense... Even the one assign on guard post leave their deffensive position. This is really stupid, what's the point of having automated deffense ? What I'd like to see is the guard staying on post and the other getting inside until the attack is past. I've tried with the siren but it change nothing...

    Thanks for your feedback

Great point. Expect to see some major overhaul in AI once the CK is released and modders have more to work with!

Hello, my name is Vιcтσяια. I like to roleplay, read books, and play Skyrim when I'm not modding it. I also like using fancy text. Really spices up the boring text that most people put, aye? I prefer most of the time to be in forced solitude, just like the Greybeards. Except I can't utilize the language of dragons and shout at people with it. D: I'm a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series, and I plan on buying all of the games later on when I finish Skyrim for the fourth time. I'm new to modding Skyrim, so if you could lend a hand to me I'd really appreciate it! If you like to roleplay, just inbox me and we can work something out. I hope to get to know all of you better, and I hope all of you have a ғαηтαsтιc day!

Hello all, I am Crystal Fisk and I am new here. I am here to get information regarding issues which i face and to help the community here in which I have experience to become successful member of this platform. Welcome me and lets build a long term relationship.

    Welcome!

  6. I need help, I have a bug where whenever I walk to close to Star light Drive in my game crashes. I already built a rather big settlement and now I have no access to it, ill be lucky to see if from afar. Does anyone know how to fix this? or if theirs even a way to?

Do you have any mods installed?

And if so, could you provide us a list?

  7. It's been a long time since I built my last rig. It was the first one I'd ever built. It was done on a budget as and when I could source parts, and thus was actually built over the course of two years. It's got some relatively nice kit in it; a 128GB Samsung Pro SSD as a boot drive, a 4Ghz Bulldozer AMD processor, 8GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM and a Ghz Edition Radeon HD7870 (albeit with a mere 2GB VRAM).

However the old girl is starting to show her age. Fallout 4 runs at Medium settings, as did GTAV. Whilst far from being unplayable I've decided to at least research a new build. The idea is that if I can get enough money together I could actually build a proper rig in one hit. One that's powerful, but not over the top, but still with a bit of flash for e-gloating with my mates.

    So here goes:

Processor: Intel Core i7 4790K 4GHz Socket 1150 8MB L3 Cache Retail Boxed Processor [fastest Intel processor I can find. I'd pair this with a Corsair closed loop liquid cooler]

Motherboard: Asus Z97-A Socket 1150 VGA DVI HDMI DisplayPort 8-ch audio ATX Motherboard [well praised motherboard, good feature set, but not overly expensive]

Graphics Card: EVGA GTX 980 Ti Hybrid GAMING 6GB GDDR5 DVI-I HDMI 3x DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card [this is where the expensive for "cool factor" comes in. I just love these closed loop systems. Plus the GTX 980 Ti is fairly future proof with 6GB VRAM]

I'd also pick up some new Corsair Vengeance RAM at 2400Hz; Two sticks of 8GB. That leaves two lanes open for the same again if I need to go up to 32GB (which I highly doubt). There's also power supply, a new blu-ray drive, new case and cooling solutions to worry about, but I'm pretty happy with those selections on a price/quality standpoint. I'd re-use the SSD from my current as the boot drive and re-use my current 1TB 7200RPM spinning platter for storage; at least until the larger SSD's come down in price a lot.

Of course there's also the option to pick up an MSI GTX 970 with 4GB VRAM and use something like this; but even 4GB VRAM these days is starting to come up short.

While slightly expensive in areas (notably the graphics card) I think this system should keep me viable for gaming at 1080p for a good 4-5 years especially with the liquid cooling extending the lifetime of the parts. Any thoughts?

You've clearly done your research. Like mark5916 said, that's going to be at least a few years of future proofing.

As far as the GPU, I personally own the GTX 970, and it does really well on all Ultra High settings... but for how long? If your goal is to make your dollar last longer, go with your original choice in GPU!

  8. I know console commands can be potentially dangerous and should be used sparingly (though I wholeheartedly cheat with lockpicks)

But I'm wondering about unique items like daedric artifacts.

I have Legacy of the Dragonborn and I'd like to complete as much as I can but it always wants to take my Daedric artifacts that I use and therefor leaves the museum incomplete when I take them back

and I can't replicate all of them

so like is it dangerous for me to replicate the items to put them back so I can continue to use them and also fuel the museum?

I only plan to add them after initially obtaining the item and completing the main quests and not before.

    It shouldn't matter.

  9. Ok it seems I've run into a very odd problem, not as game breaking but very annoying and time consuming. So after I managed to get Skyrim to load properly, I play it for a couple of hours I go to fast travel, but I can't because fast travel is currently unavailable from this location. Same mods as before. But a wait a little bit, transform into a werewolf and I can fast travel. I've seen others having this problem but with guards pursueing them. None like my issue. Fast travel is very important and would be a major time waster if it won't work. Any insight into what's going on?

That seems to be an issue with your map. Try seeing if 'A Quality World Map' needs updating; a

and when you're on the mod page, see if the author lists any known bugs/conflicts and compare it to your mod list.

  10. Something more generic (I'm not at all challenging Windows 10 being a bug-ridden mess), but audio pops/clicks can sometimes be indicative of the audio hardware itself overheating. If this were the problem, you could reasonably expect the same behavior in other games/applications that heavily load the system (and thus produce more heat). Just something to think about more than anything else. This would not explain the stutters or lag ofc.

Audio hardware overheating is a thing?

Psssh, nothing is safe anymore. D:

  11. I've had Cortana disabled since upgrade, it doesn't matter.

Just waiting on an update from Microsoft to fix this. Windows 10 is basically still in beta it feels like so there's a lot of things that need some fixing.

For good measure, I'd make sure your audio/video drivers are all up to date and that your hardware (speakers/headphones) are in good working shape.

  12. Hello i am kinda new too modding and this might be easily done or impossible to do but i saw a couple of mods where people changed the painting in fallout 4 or added their own i was wondering how i could add my own images too the game?, is it possible for a novice to figure out?

At the moment, you'll need to use FO4EDIT, since the Creation Kit hasn't been released. I personally haven't spent much time with it, but there are tutorials available and a large majority of users on this site to help assist.

    It's a learning curve, but it's possible.

  13.

I'm getting some audio popping and terrible lag when I'm indoors and in well lit rooms. Also get the occasional lag when I'm in cities, but that is expected. Besides that, the game runs pretty well. I just updated my drivers which didn't seem to help.
Processor: AMD FX™-8120 Eight-Core Processor at 3.1 GHz
    RAM: 8GB (2GB VRAM)
Card: AMD Radeon HD 7600 Series
Does anyone have any advice on how to fix these problems I'm having?

I get audio popping rarely... and then my sound cuts out. But it's actually a Windows 10 start menu/Cortana bug that Microsoft still hasn't fixed..

Which begs the question: what's your OS?

  14. No offense to the original game or the original "modders" of the game, but no. One of the best aspects of this franchise is the ability to truly mod it.

I was gonna buy one game this december, and I didn't buy FO4 (despite my love for the franchise) for the simple reason that they haven't released the tool set yet. It's apparently an afterthought. Once it becomes a forethought, or at least presentthough, I might actually buy it.

Until then.... still rocking Fo3, and even FoNV, or NWN 1 (if I am looking for online)

Fo4??? Yeah it looks nice, but don't get it twisted Bethesda, one of the biggest draws to your games are what players can do with it, that you can't . So until you give the power to the players/consumers like previous generations, I will not be buying this game.

But I am looking forward to the day when I can buy this game and experience something better than previous fall outs (both from the original developer, and it's community.)

    To each their own.

The CK is rumored to be coming out Spring 2016, though... I don't know how you can wait that long haha

  15. I've never seen this before. Have you installed any mods at all? I can't imagine NMM just by itself making this happen.

You also may have better luck finding answers in the NMM forums, since that only started happening after you installed it.

  16. I would love to actually see the greatest Pre-war toy ever made in action! I would also like it even more if you could then use said toy as a companion. Maybe by replacing the dogmeat textures, or something similar.

It seems a waste that you find this relic everywhere and can't see it even trot about. Even if it only worked in settlements where the floor you place it upon has power flowing to it, it would be really cool.

Maybe one day far in the future when the GECK is here we can even see about riding it like a horse in Skyrim?

    Here is to hoping.

I agree; I'd like a Giddyup Buttercup companion. It could be a quest to find the right parts for it, and you could call the quest "Build Me Up Buttercup"

This is such a good idea. I hope to see this mod become a reality and ready for download ASAP. :D

  17. I had a dream I was playing fallout 4 and whacking raiders about using that double ended purple dild0 from GTA San Andreas. I Woke up giggling. Anyways it would be fun if it could be made to dongle about I also thought of a perk for killing with the thing. It would the Purple enforcer perk and different ranks would up damage done with a cap rank of making enemies flee in terror at the prospect of a beating from great purple phallus.

I uploaded a no-royalty 3D model of basically that to dA once.

Long story short: they took it down.

Long story shorter: someone will make this.

  18. I love the baseball bat, but I wish it could swing faster, at least at Medium speed. I tried using FO4edit to change it, but couldn't figure out how. If anyone else can do it (or at least tell me how to do it myself) I'd be ever so grateful.

You can do this via console command.

Although, I'm not sure how exactly since they changed some of the commands from FNV to F4.

You can probably find it by searching online, or if someone else on the forums knows?

  19. I'd love to see some of the gear, weapons and sounds from Team Fortress 2 in a mod. I'm really wanting to do a few playthroughs as different TF2 classes and a mod based around the game would make it amazing. Specifically, I'd love to see Heavy Weapons guy if nothing else. I want to run around the wastes with my boxing glove, double barrel and minigun in style!

There are currently two sound replacers on the Nexus:

    http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/searchresults/?src_order=2&src_sort=0&src_view=1&src_tab=1&src_name=tf2&src_language=0&src_showadult=1&page=1&pUp=1

('BONK!' melee sound replacer and 'Boom, headhsot' critical sound replacer.)
