thanks for your detailed answer. I dont have a quest though to do. im in northern springs with Quinton. but apart from the quest to find him still being listed, ive got Northern springs - the road to northern springs. but going to any of the map points of the quest just shows a marker sitting in the snow or floating in the air.

been playing a game with this plus all the depravity etc mods as one big game. never played northern springs before, am i missing something? i had entered northern springs earlier and came straight out and did lots of other missions. about level 60 i think. so i think time to go back to northern springs. i have a mission listing, find quinton. cant remember if i met him before but i must of as hes not near thicket excavations. go to whatsernames house, find him there, she tells me how to get to northern springs and there i am with quinton with me. do the bit where you follow the soldier until you get to the bridge, i cross it, and then.... i have two mission listings. one is northern springs. and the text just says -the road to northern springs. this gives about 4 markers, think i went to all of them but hard to tell. the ones i went to were just empty in the air or on the ground. the other is under miscellaneous and says / find quinton. but i have found him. spoke to him. he-s my companion. so why doesnt this complete? i find sanatogen but i have no idea what im supposed to be doing.

I thought it was just me. hotel rexford boarded up for me, when I use a console command to get into it, its empty and I fall into the sea. weird thing is it was fine before. thinking of deleting all mods and reinstalling.

bit of a problem, used tcl, and the hotel is an empty shell inside??? but ive been in it before???

I have similar, have been in the hotel already, done missions, but trying to do trouble brewing, sent the drinking buddy machine and got to the hotel and its boarded up.

know I have been in Hotel Rexford during the game, but im level 56 and loads of missions on the list that im trying to get rid of by completing them all. Gone and found the drinkin buddy, sent him back to hotel rexford and went there myself. to find the front doors boarded up. tried different times of day and night. all boarded. even tried using the console and 'unlock' but the door isnt locked, its not there. went back in my many saved games and id have to go back many hours to get a save where the doors are still there. what have I done?

turns out that it was a simple as that plus a bit of patience. I tried it a few times with no luck and I cant say what the difference was on the last attempt, so for anyone who googles this with the same problem hopefully this will help. firstly I noticed that sometimes (from the same save) after rancor pushes forward the slave, sometimes it freezes then and sometimes some of my troops run forward and get blown up and then it freezes. so this time im pretty certain they ran forward but not 100%. I used enableplayercontrols. I had done this at least a dozen times before. what might have been different is I went up to the gate behind rancor, brought up the console, clicked on the gate and typed unlock. nothing seemed to happen but I do think this was the difference. I ran around near the left hand mines and one exploded. then I shot rancor once. id done this before and whilst he always reacted, shot back, and then everyone shot him, this time the troops then ran forward and entered Ostria.

tempted to start the whole frontier again as I really want to finish it as crusaders, but worried ill just get this again. even if I knew what caused it I could avoid it.

went onto discord, just found other people with the same bug but no one with a fix. quite frustrating when you play a game for so long and then get stuck and have to give up.

good idea, I just have to work out what discord is first as it confuses me

thanks, I tried that. it got me moving fine but Domina and Blackthorne just stand there as does rancour. even if I kill him they stand there. I did find running around would trigger the backup soldiers running, the ones that dont get blown up by the mines get the gate down, but its weird, the gate is definitely down cosmetically but neither me nor them can walk in the door. I can then get into the castle by climbing up the side and jumping over the wall but the quest doesn't skip forward so its a waste of time. I also tried 'setquest' 0a945157 50 as a YouTube video walkthrough's comments section had someone with the same issue as me and someone suggested that. it seemed like it was working and it came up something about trapdoor locked which I didnt understand. I tried numbers before and after 50 to see if any of them triggered anything but they didnt. I then used a command to finish the quest 945157 but all it did was wipe the breaking the cycle quest from my list but it didnt replace it with anything and there was no cutscene just me wandering around looking at frozen Domina and Blackthorne. I even noticed that if I shot at Blackthorne, he'd shoot back at me, Domina weaver would shoot him, he'd go unconscious, get back up, she'd shoot him again. hours of fun. when I went into the castle, I already knew how that worked from doing the NCR walkthrough but it was impossible to get the key to get into the prisoners. its really annoying as its the last quest and then I can go back to new vegas a rich man. I know I could go back to my NCR walkthrough one but I preferred the crusaders so wanted that to work.

any suggestions appreciated. ive already played through the NCR questline and went back to do the crusadors one. im at the end i think, i speak to Domina, we all rush to the gates of ostria. the baddy does a speech and shoves a slave towards the mines and he blows up. and then.... im stuck. i cant move. i seem to be sitting on america-s shoulders, and donovan too, we are all in a group hug. i go back and replay the mission but always he same. googling found someone suggested using a command - tfc. i type that and i can free move my character but i cant end that. i just move my character forward and back and up and down but everyone else is frozen.

i hadnt played Fallout NV in a long time but read about the frontier and that was enough to bring me back to try it. as far as i can see i have everything i need loaded and nothing i dont need. i thought it was working as the front screen when the game opens has The Frontier plastered on it. However i just played through a long game, was intending just to get to level 12 but ended up doing a lot of the story line and all the DLC and now am level 43 and thought okay now ill find The Frontier. So i kept hitting wait and nothing happened. and i wandered around to the west of the Northern Passage and found nothing. So i quit and started a brand new game to see if i was offered the quick save but nothing. its still there in the start screen though. i went back through the requirements and the only thing ive tried is to delete NVSE and instead manually instead X NVSE. I also downloaded and ran the 4gb enabler but it said it was already patched. Ive attached my list of mods in vortex. any advice appreciated.

apologies if this is a daft question. ive just stumbled on the amount of new locations mods on here, which will rekindle my interest in fallout 4 as id done everything i wanted to in the main story line and dlcs. whats the best way to go about this? should i start a new game or keep using my old completed save? should i add one mod at a time, play those and then remove it, or should i just drop the dozen or so mods into the game and play them all as i would with official missions and stuff? thanks in advance
