sorry, still a bit of a newb ... how do i open up the .exe files for editing ??

Thanks for the quick replies ! :) I forgot to mention that I'm connecting via HDMI from the GPU to my 42" Sony BRAVIA TV. [been gaming on this via XBOX for past 2 years] I'm not sure off hand what the "native resolution" of the TV is. I'll have to look through the documentation or check out google. Question, is there anything I should know about the playing on a TV as opposed to a Monitor ??

I've been trying to get my FPS up by trying different mods and changing different settings using Skyrim Configurator. Unfortunately, although I do make copies and saves of my game, I hadn't backed up my saves in a while. [though I don't think it would really make a difference] I couldn't get it consistently above 30-35 fps, so I decided I would try to change the resolution. I changed it down to 1600X945. My system gave me an error code upon trying to load the game saying that that resolution wasn't available. I then tried 1600X900 and skse_loader.exe loaded up fine, but I had only the option to start a new game!!! o_O I quickly exited, changed the settings back to 1920X1080, applied, and stated it up. Same thing. It just doesn't "see" or recognize the saves. [ btw, running XP and the saves are still there in my C:\Documents and Settings\Charles Kane\My Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves where they've always been. ;) ] Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated !! :wallbash:

I'm sry I haven't replied sooner, but I've worked several 13 hour days ... anyway, I appreciate your quick response, but since I can't afford to put more money into this rig, the 480 ups will have to do. [ besides, when upgrading, I didn't see any bigger for this specific model PC. 8( ] I was going to go and validate my game files as you suggested, but while at work I had a couple minutes here and there to surf around some sites and long story short, I'm going to uninstall all of it, start a clean install, move it out of program files, and generally follow a bunch of recommendations by Players and Modders to have the most stable base to start with. Thanks again. 8)

Had been playing fine with no issues, around 15 mods, most of the basics, a couple armor mods. Then, after exiting from bleak falls barrow, the game comes to a halt. Everything is locked. I try to bring up Task Manager with Ctrl+Alt+Delete, even this doesn't work. I shut the PC and restart, get the game started, 5 minutes in, it locks again ... this time am able to get out via task manager. I "End Task" for the game and get an Error message asking if I want to Send Error Report. Here is the info it game me: szAppName : TESV.exe szAppVer : 1.8.151.0 szModName : hungapp szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000 There was an option to see some "Tech Info" at the Bottom, it was: C:\DOCUME~1\CHARLE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER3a43.dir00\TESV.exe.mdmp C:\DOCUME~1\CHARLE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER3a43.dir00\appcompat.txt I'm running a Duo Core 3.4 Ghz Pentium D with 4GB ram, Radeon 7750 PCI express graphics and have a 480w power supply. My system should be able to handle the game. Does anyone have a clue as to what all that means, and what I can try ? ... already searched around here and removed anti-aliasing, down graded a lot of my quality setting, and uninstalled a bunch of mods. Any ideas will be welcome. Thanks
