  1. The first blood omen: legacy of kain was a very good 3rd person game. It's secrets could still have you scratching your head and the story was decent, and nothing took away from the action part of the game. Every "Kain" game afterwards matured the plot until it's almost (actually it 'is') a novel and you really need to play 'all' the games to understand how they all interlink, but really de-evolved as far as how I wished they had progressed. It became a 'puzzle game' more over an action/adventure title (the series as a whole) so it may not be the 'worst' series, but I do think this is one of the series that really took a large tumble down a slope
  2. why not just use the console "placeatme" command? do this with shadowmere code. If he's dead upon arival, just use console 'resurrect'. couldn't be simpler.
  3. I enjoy rating pictures and I like females :P But I do sometimes take time to fill out my profile and I'm savvy with male friends too.
  4. Yes the females have the better mods because the higher % of modders are males who like women (grins). I do feel for the female gammers out there who want male body and armor mods and in that regard I wish more female modders existed. My sympathies abound for the female gamer (I wish I had a G/F who was a gamer *blush*) but I play female because of the choices I have and yes, to me, women are more aesthetically pleasing than men.
  5. At the time I read this, Dark0ne's posts read 7500. You deserve a cake! *bakes one and gives it over* Alright, humor aside I see your point of view and true my method isn't the most fair, even if it has meritt. Thanks for the reply.
  6. I’d like to mention that in practice, usernames that have more than three numbers appending their name are in many cases spammers or users creating those profiles for ‘other than appropriate’ activity. I’d like to see anyone’s name having excessive numbers (like jackrod445500 or some such similar name) be first messaged and asked to decided an appropriate alternate name with three or less digits and then have it changed. Those who do not reply should have their accounts removed, and in turn the forum should prohibit any name creation with excessive digits appending a name. I know this may sound a bit like ‘forum Nazism’ but I do feel it will have a net positive return on reducing spammers and malevolent users.
  7. Clock speed is usually important. I have SLI 7600GT 256MEGS in this config, along with 3gigs memory and (at the time oblivion came out) a decent processor (though by today's standards AMD 3800+ 939 isn't exactly 'hip'), Oblivion runs very well at 1200 x 750 resolution (or whatever the reso is close to that (1200 x 800? .. something like that?). the default settings were "High" when it auto-checked and my FPS drop to about 20 when things get hectic and are at 30 - 50 normally.
  8. Excellent topics of choice for evolution would be: Given “x” environment and “y” and “z” species, which is more likely to evolve into a more robust organism and survive. This is asking for a clear-cut opinion given a few variables and perhaps your own personal knowledge. So you see, evolution isn’t banned, but when it becomes a poo-flinging contest between two babbling monkeys, then yes it will be banned.
  9. damn! I thought I was the only person who remembered that the Phillips CD-I even existed! yeah that zelda game was an insult to the entier series! shhhhucker, man! (hehe sorry sensoring mysself :P ) You're going to get flamed for saying Zelda was a bad game. We grew up in the 80's, and whitnessed the evolution from Atari 2600 to Atari 7200, to just about everything nintento, Sega, turbo graphix 16 :P anyway, I suppose I can forgive you but if you were born in 1991, you -cannot- critique any game older than you, simply because you didn't grow up when "that's all there was" ^_^ okay having said that, I think the worst game was: *drumroll* Columbine Massacre RPG it was for windows.. but for those that are not popular with that game, then I have a second close: *second drumroll* Daikatana It was by Eidos Interactive (if you even remmeber them, and came out in 2000.
  10. That was my point. And again, I wish everyone here would not keep saying "this is the best game ever!' because it's their favorite. that is not what this topic was about. Again, I feel it's "doom", not because I even like doom, which I kind of don't. It's because it was really the large turning point in games. Wolfenstine 3D made the platform, and Doom was the game that used it and made it extremely popular.
  11. I know this mod exists : Rens' facial textures compatible with Exnems body meshes. I wish to use Rens faces and hair styles with Exnems. Can you find this one for me? Edit: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14816 I guess this will have to do - about what I was asking for. Took me a long time to find it, simply because I wasn't wording the search right.
  12. Shut down ALL programs when you wish to play Oblivion (Morrowind too, though to a lesser extent). Thsi includes spyware monitor programs, virus shields and programs (Like Nortan, AVG, Mcaffey, etc), and keyboard probrams. I had a creative keyboard with software for the extra keys on the left and top, that i had to shut down while playing Oblivon, because it would minimize the game randomly. and disconnect from the Internet.
  13. I hope this is in the right contex and spirit of this thread. This is just my thought on the matter of thread necromancy. Wouldn't it be prudent to just close all topics that are over 3 months old? Sometimes worthwild content can be added to threads that are a month or two old, but anything older should most likely be locked down, just to prevent people from inadvertently violating the necromancy policy. I was guilty when I first came to the forum, as it was my first visits here and I wanted to view all topics that were available and as I had the time I cycled through and read a lot - posted replies and then of course got hit for this infringment  I'd do it myself, as I have the time if I were allowed (with my work nights being -very- uneventful ^_^).
  14. I don't count - someone asked me my age and I had to ask what year it was, and then count and ensure I wasn't 'past due' on a 'celebration. I feel old and I am not old *sigh* 27. 28 sometime in 2008... oh right, this year. and mid February is very important - tax filing and returns, etc...
  15. I was always in favor of the “push back release date in order to finish the game”. Oblivion was obviously rushed in the final stages, and tailored for a console audience (and anyone who thinks differently is being blinded by the shiny objects and not really looking around the room). This may very well be what Oblivion lacked, and I say “do NOT push this out for release, despite ANY attempts to rush”. Do what you will do and release something everyone will absolutely love. And as you are making this without monetary compensation (as per legality), no one has the right to be angry about a pushed back release date.
  16. This thread isn’t so much “your favorite”, but “the best of all time”. Having said that, I believe that the best game is probably how influential the game was as a whole, on the gaming genre. While the first “Super Mario Bros.” might be one of the most memorable games ever, with its little jingles that stuck in your head hours / days after playing, to how easy anyone of any age could pick it up (and the fact that Mario is immortal as far as games go), I find it not to be the best made. And as gamers get older, new games come into the mix who’ve never played it and many of those never will. But one of the most influential games in history was “Doom”. Doom took Wolfenstine 3D and made it into a platform that has sense been duplicated and rehashed over and over again, countless times. Any FPS of today has its roots in Doom, not to mention just about any game that lets you play and move about freely in first-person. I actually never made it through Doom without cheating (the last stage was designed with cheating in mind, I’m convinced – especially on “nightmare”). I feel that if you’re trying to go “best game” based on how well it was received and how well you feel it has / will stand up to the test of time, I would have to say “Portal”. The entire game is only 1 – 2 hours long, and after you beat it, you feel a good sense of accomplishment. Portal delivered everything you’d expect, and had some of the best dark humor around. True after a while, the replay value drops, but that’s the same as any game, and the fact you can play the full game in one seating means it doesn’t outstay its welcome or get too monotonous or boring. P.S: My favorite games of all time are “Super Metroid”, for its emersion and “Zelda: a link to the past”, for taking the Zelda franchise to a new level and not trying to overdo it.
  17. (Flip back a few pages for all of my wonderful comments earlier ^_^) Edit: Page 28 :D I would like to add: 1. I wish to see a way to "target" enemies in battle, so when you attack, you won't mistakently hit a friendly (perhaps only if you are using melee). This will circumvent the problem with the stupidity of the AI - as they run infront of you. This can not be used just as easily as being used, so if you want the 'emersion', you can have it - just never use your keybinding for 'target'. 2. The game will need much more advanced pseudo-AI if you are allowed companions without making a mod for them. Seriously, I never use companion mods because they just aren't smart enough to "hang" with you, and in some cases will report you if you steal or pick-pocket *shrugs*.
  18. Better cities, OOO, MMM, dj harvest, better magic. these will change the structure of the game such that it plays almost like a new game.
  19. That's also how the command and conquer series worked. You picked oen of two sides but for the storyline in the "sequel / prequel", one side did win over the other. Though I don't think it's nessessary in TES games.
  20. To further this a little, as soon as you get the disease, you need only sleep for 1hour.. It doesn't matter if it's been three days or three mintues. and it doesn't matter if it's your first encouter or not - you will turn 25% vampire after sleeping. I verified this with the latest patch (I don't have Simmering Isle but I do have the patch if you don't have SI).
  21. I don't see how that does anything. Hodling "R" and moving your mouse to look around in 3rd person does nothing. Edit: to clarify, I was told "Hold down the 'change view' key". I wish that had been specified before, as not everyone has the same keymapping to their keyboard for gameplay. simply saying "hold 'R'" doesn't mean anything if you don't tell what "R" is mapped to in game. But that problem is now solved.
  22. Well let's see... my brother (8 yrs older than i) gave me his Atari 2600 when I was 4. My neighbors had the 7600?, a superior machine and I was jelous. Though my father (from his work) got a promotional Atari 800XL computer system and I must say that fully owned anything at the time. Disk games and cartrige games. It was really my first introduction to PCs other than our IBM PC Junior :P wich my father game me around the same time with tackle football and king's quest (yes the original). so I had all at the same time, three 'systems', though the IBM might not count.
  23. I am a male and like all normal males enjoy female eye candy but I am going to say this: this is ridiculous. Get yourself some anime if you want large breasts. And personally I prefer my RL women to have breasts that I can hold without being OMG smushed by! Petite to normal size is fine with me, so to all the females out there, I feel the topic starter is just a horny teen with a breast fetish....
  24. Has anyone run into that issue when it changes a female beggers voices into a male one for rumors and then goes back to female begger voice. Man was I confused the first time I heard that. I've noticed though that City Swimmer is Gender Confused. Everyone reffers to her as "him", even herself. She says "do you see city swimmer" etc. "no, he is here before you." Leads me to think she's gay and everyone accepts it so calls her "him".
  25. I find Wraiths to be extremely bothersome. They like to back up while you hit and fade through walls, then come back at you with a spell before hitting so blocking the first attack is useless and the follow-up is always hard-hitting. If you’re talking about groups of monsters and not solo, then the groups I have the most trouble with are goblins. At high levels, Goblins are tougher than Deadra. I can’t figure this out, but it’s how the leveling works, and they always come in gang-bang groups. Most NPCs like Summoners, I have a nifty trick to pull. Yep they are in groups, so here’s what you do. Get the dedric artifact Wabbajack. Ensure they don’t see you and use it on one of the NPCs. It changes the NPC into a random deadra, and about 99% of the time, NPCs are hostile to deadra monsters so they end up wailing and murdering off their own kind. If it runs out, rinse and repeart – problem solved. Sanguine’s Rose (spelling?) is okay in this regard too as it summons a creature to fight whomever it hits with the spell. These are perhaps two of the most underrated artifacts. Always use them when you are hiding or maximum effect.
