I also have no data file.Not anywhere.Not even a file that says New Vegas.Except in my documents folder.However,though it says NV,..there's nothing in it.

I have Win8,and I cannot find my data files ANYWHERE ON MY PC! Aaaah! I've tried the Steam,apps,common,etc,but nope.I tried Bethesda's file as well,but nope.Not anywhere on my PC. I did a PC search to try and see where it might be hiding,..nope. All I can find is my Fallout 3 Data files. I am lost as to what to do.

I just bought New Vegas on steam,but when I try to find the data file for the game,it isnt there. Not anywhere. I can play the game just fine,but cannot add mods. I tried program files,found bethesda,BLAH,BLAH,,..I even did the Steam,steam apps.common,etc,..but it just isnt there. I also did pc search to try to find where it might have DLed,but it just really is not anywhere on my pc but the desktop. Still,as I said,I have no problem playing,no problems with the codes for various items I need. I have no clue where the hell it is hiding in my PC! HELP! XD

Pirated? I dont think it is. I got my copy of the disc from my friend who has gone on to Witcher 3. He loaded it into my PC,and poof. I w as playing.

I found went to the Wiki,but I still get the same error. This time,I am sure it was the F3 GECK.

Hmm,..I'll have to go find another one and try again.

Ok,I got it to open up and load into the PC just now.However,.it says I am missing this file: libvorbisfile.dll It almost worked. I just added the GECK file I just found at Nexus, to my Bethesda Fallout file. How do I find this file it wants,and where might I add it to. Your replying to this newbie is greatly appreciated. :}

Hmm,..I dont know if the FOSE is in the root folder or not. As to the GECK,..I cant even get it to open from the Winrar download. It keeps giving me that repair,remove,or modify bit. I download the package onto my desktop,and it just wont unpack at all.

I have a couple of problems,and hopefully someone here can help. This is about Fallout 3. I can get the GECK to download onto my PC,but when I open it,it only allows me to repair,modify,or delete it.There is nowhere that lets me use it,or even to open it up.I've deleted it and gotten the mod again,thinking it might be the FOSE itself from where I got it,but nope. No matter where I DL it from (3 times),it wont work. I know it must be me maybe? I'm running Win8,and the game is perfectly fine.Even with all my mods. I just am not able to create anything or change something ingame. Please,..can you tell me what I may be doing wrong? And,now i have no idea how to make the FOSE work,though I've tried reading a couple of things on the web.It all just seems so overwhelming. I wish it was like in Morrowind (the original single player). The Creation Kit is amazingly easy,..compared to whats come after. I made so many fun mods,though I didnt post them online.They were just for me. Please,if anyone can help me fix my two problems,..let me know.
