This addon is doable for sure. But personally I absolutely hated these addons in WoW. If it was kept in a group chat, guild chat or some other private chat. Then I would be totally fine with it. Would that work for you? Because in that case I could probably make this addon.

My (somewhat) qualified guess is that you might be able to stop the zoom, but I doubt very much you can stop the turning. This is because the addon system does not allow any control over the movements of the character.

I can tell you for sure that it is not possible to do with the addon system as it is right now. I would be very surprised if they ever allowed it as well. Not only because of the reason Lisnpuppy talked about, but also because allowing it would open up for alot of other things that they really wouldn't want (like automated actions)

There is a really great addon that is called "Research assistant" that does that. It also shows such an indicator in your inventory and in bags. Unfortunately the mod isn't here on nexus mods.
