Thank you for the suggestions, unfortunately they have not solved my issue, but loading through steam and saving, it saved in the Gracie modded character and not the new Gracie character save which has let me know that the issue is not around which character save it goes to. By turning off my latest mod which was save cleaner, it made no difference and disabling the address library for skse plugins led to the game not starting.

Hi, I had a problem where by I could not save my game as it would crash. I managed to fix that and I can save as much as I want. My original save was called Gracie modded but all new saves go under a character just called gracie for some reason and will not load it just crashes. I can load all my old saves but no new ones. Why are the saves going into a new character save? I have come too far to restart but I cannot work out what is going wrong. I have some mods and use loot, I have cleaned all the dirty files using the loot instructions and I use skyrim script extender. Thank you for reading :)
