  1. Achieved the objective by using PlaceAtMe to import a new jukebox instead of the old disable/enable method Still interested if anyone knows how the 2-state activators work
  2. I had written a script that enabled a jukebox so that it appeared when a button was pressed. By trial and error I got it to arrive playing music whereas just calling enable left it 'dead'. The jukebox is tagged initially disabled and appears as expected on enable. Now I have corrupted the script I can't remember what I did. Was is something to do with reset? This doesn't work now anyway. Any light you can shine on this would be welcome.
  3. There are console commands to change the build limit. See the wiki. You need to click on the workbench, then put the commands to change triangles and draw values: setav 349 x and setav 34b x where x is your choice of value To find it the current values use getav 349 and getav 34b
  4. This problem returns if I am killed in game and reload. Anyone know if this is caused by me or is it a known bug?
  5. Restarted my computer and tried again. Everything works.
  6. Hi Zorkaz The quests have XPMiscQuestLowLvl, Priority 60 The messages have worked previously. I am doing test runs to find faults in operation. Without making any changes my new runs fail to get the quest graphics. Odd huh?
  7. In my mod the quests trigger without showing the start quest graphic - objectives appear in pip-boy and quest markers on refs, but no objective message on screen. Any ideas why this happens and how to fix? I'm running a new download of FO4, with no other mods than mine.

Will persevere - am picking up lots of other bits by experimentation.   9. Thanks. Am using this solution as a stop-gap. Would really like to fix my mesh to work like a mug. Currently investigating Nifscope as I suspect it has something to do with the physics.
  10. Flushed with success at having forced my shelf to stick to the wall, I made a new tray to sit on a desk. Now it only likes to sit on the floor and is red when it sits on the desk. Anyone have a solution?
  11. incubus- make a copy of the assets and rename them in ck. use these in your build and they will remain when the other mod is disabled. If you remove the mod, you will lose the custom meshes and textures, so don't do that. If you intend to publish you will need the mod authors permission to include their work, but no probs if you only want to use it yourself.
  12. How do I trigger the gift-giving for my custom companion? I have made a formlist of possible gifts since the other companions have one. Looking into companion quests gives no clue to the script or trigger for the gift-giving. Anyone know of a useful tutorial?

  14. Relatively easy, since I managed it. Follow the You Tube videos by Seddon or Kinggath to take you through the steps. You will need a DDS editor such as Gimp to change the colours and save the texture. Best to create a custom texture swap and leave the vanilla files alone. There is a materials editor on Nexus that you should download for making the custom swap.
  15. I have created a new design of wall shelf as a static collection and made it a constructible object. In workshop mode it will only stand on the floor, not a wall. Any advice?
  16. I could happily play a version where the whole map was filled with workshop cells which could be captured or lost like Total War
  17. I've found Horizon now. Looks almost what I had in mind, but still the settlers get their skill after arrival. Lots of complications in this mod so it will take a while to explore the possibilities. Another thought: how come the settlers arrive singly - are there no families in the commonweatlth? I had orphans loaded and it seems to work without affecting Horizon; the children are assignable to jobs other than farming and even self-assign to vacant vendor stalls.
  18. It seems implausible that PC is able to use crafting benches to make weapons, armor etc immediately after leaving the vault. What if you could employ a settler with those skills - in the same way that magazines open new perks, new settlers offer perk buffs? I'm thinking of the way the overseer in vault 88 interviews settlers. When settlers arrive they ask 'I'm new here, anything I can do to help?' - we should say ' what are you good at?' where they then state the skills they have eg blacksmith, armorer level 2 etc at which point we may accept or reject them as settlers. Settlers would bring with them any crafting bench they need, make weapons, food, armor & mods on request or for a fee. Crafting then proceeds as previously so no need for new coding other than the bit where benches come with settler attached. (can it be a crafting bench AND a store?) This is a mash-up of different mods seen on nexus with the addition that PC is no longer able to craft a workbench himself. I would remove most of the existing ones from the game. For immersion it should be hard to get hold of weapons and ammo 200 years after the bombs so pipe weapons & leathers only. Higher level equipment for BoS and Inst as they have tech so joining their factions should allow better skilled settlers who are then able to produce better equipment.
  19. Is it possible to get the cameras working to take screenshots? Maybe add film to the objects list and have the camera act like a weapon - with film for ammo. How about B&W for camera and colour for prosnap? I would really like to add screenshots I have collected as pictures, poster etc to my settlement decorations BUT they are saved as .png and the custom poster mods need .dds files - if I could I would mod so that screenshots automatically add to the custom pictures folder as .dds files; my skills not good enough.
