No grass mods work

No matter what I do, I can't get any grass mods to work in my game. It is just as barren as vanilla skyrim. Can someone please help me with this? I keep trying different grass mods and make all the relevant changes to my skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini file in the documents folder, but still nothing. Please help, I have such a wonderful game with no stability issues and 60 fps but can't get any grass to work.
