I did have Crimson Tide mod installed, then after reading the last few pages on the thread for that mod everyone was saying the author abandoned the mod and it is not up-to-date with new patches. So I uninstalled Crimson Tide.. Could that cause exterior CTD? I don't have a 'clean' save but my character right now is only level 10 and I don't mind restarting (for the 4th time) but am kinda @ the point of asking myself - Why bother? I haven't uninstalled any other mods on this install of Skyrim but am hardly convinced that a mod I UNINSTALLED would be causing only exterior CTD and in a time frame of anywhere between 10 minutes of game play to one hour...

Does nobody has a solution to my problem posted above? I see this exact problem posted all over the net but the only 'solution' I've found is @ the start of this thread and it says to create a new character.. which I've done.. three times and the same CTD issue has occurred each time now. Obviously, creating a new character (I've tried clean installs three times now as well) doesn't fix the issue. How does such a widespread problem have no solution? Does everyone who experiences this just stop playing Skyrim?

I've been getting CTD since the start of playing Skyrim on my PC. 90% of the CTD occurs when in the 'open world' running around.. rarely has it happened in cities and I don't think it ever has happened in a dungeon. Spent more time trying to get the game to work than actually playing it.

Here are the last few lines of my Papyrus log. I probably got 2 hours in this time before any CTD.. also a lot of running in the open world which usually causes CTD within just a couple minutes. It's improvement but usually once I CTD the first time it keeps happening rapidly thereafter. My save-game still isn't bloated, only @ 7.99mb. I do not. Do I get that by : Documents > My Games > Skyrim >[skyrim.ini]: Quote And play as usual until the games crashes? I'm not familiar with 'Papyrus' other than what I'm reading about it on forums right now.

Hey Aoxer, thanks for the reply! I didn't install any graphic mods this time around as I often saw people saying not to use those in forums if you've got problems with CTD. I did make some changes to my skyrimprefs.ini.. I had a problem with the shadows flickering about every 10 seconds.. I posted the text that I followed to correct the matter. When I changed the stuff listed below it did fix my shadow problem... hopefully that's not now causing the CTD. Again, I was able to run Skyrim for a few hours yesterday without any CTD so IF the problem is possibly what I changed in that folder why would it takes several hours of gameplay to finally start CTD? I didn't change any Ugrids.. I don't even know what that is =). I haven't toyed with the Textures in the ini files either but I'll look to make sure I don't have any marked over 2048.. Are there any specific lines I should be looking for when doing that? What I changed in my pref folder : Go to skyrimPrefs.ini and change: iBlurDeferredShadowMask=22 iShadowMapResolution=5192 (this can be lower if you want, 4096 or 2048, but not any lower) ---I put this @ 2048. fShadowBiasScale=1

After looking @ the BOSS log I saw a couple of the mods needed to be cleaned. I went ahead and did just that. In the spoiler below is the newest BOSS Log. I'm going to try playing gain and see if the CTD persists.. I've no idea if simply 'cleaning' those few mods will really stop the CTD issue... seems too easy tbh. Again, any info on the matter is greatly appreciated!

I've been getting random CTD usually when running around in the open world.. and usually within the first few minutes of doing so. I have had the occasional CTD on some load screens and once when I was in dialogue with somebody but the majority of the time the CTD occurs when in the open world. I've tried uninstalling, then manually cleaning up in left overs in both Documents, My Games, Skyrim, and the Skyrim folder through my Steamapps. My save-game file was bloated at about 60mb and I contributed the crashes to that. Upon re-installing the game I was able to create a new character and play for a solid 3-4 hours.. then today I CTD twice in the first 30 minutes. My save-game file is only @ 7mb so I'm guessing that's not the issue. I'm running the game on high graphics and should be able to do so w/o problems (specs below). I'm also running about 24 or so mods.. All of which were installed manually this time and I use BOSS for the load-order. None of the mods in-game appear to be malfunctioning. All of the mods I'm using are @ their most current version. My Skyrim is also on the most recent update/version.
