I got into modding myself simply because good half of mods I've tried over the years didn't work as advertised, didn't work at all, or turned out to be half-assed crap I would be ashamed to publish myself.
Apart from that, PLEASE consider Patreon-like functionality for USERS who could buy reward points directly from nexus (VISA/MC preferably) and use them to slowly "fund" promising WIP or further development of feature complete ones monthly. Slower stream of constant support (or ceasing of it) is a much better incentive to work than a few random piles of cash you get out of the blue. It will also help seeing if there is still demand for your work and double as a feedback mechanism NEXUS social mechanisms like discussions and endorsement lack in depth.
Cheers.Ethreon wrote: Totally cannot see the dislike button being abused. Totally.
That idea existed before, it was hugely abused and since scrapped. You have comments already, that should be enough to signal to anyone that a mod is not up to par.KatArus wrote: I never said anything about making it visible to the others so.... I totally cannot see 'don't count my download' button being abused - everyone decides for themself. Their system, as is, is basically an autoendorse by downloading. I propose an ability to manually unendorse if expectations were not met. Nexus will be flooded with clickbait one-time jocks similar to Creation Club stuff where it merely qualifies as passable but will be valued as much as effort-heavy stuff. I believe this form of self-regulation will alleviate jocks a good bit. Let ppl decide themselves. Someone will think that an esp containing a single FastTravelSpeedMult = x line is a good mod for immersion if speed is measured to be equal to ingame running speed. Some will not. Such 'unendorsement' is taking effort and is invisible to others, so it will happen only if there are real issues for that particular downloader.Ethreon wrote: What bearing does it have on someone that wants to press it? None. Whether it can be seen or not will end up in the same spot - abuse by trolls or misinformed users.KatArus wrote: It seems that you have a personal conflict of interest on this matter. My opinion still stands. You've expressed yours too.
The problem with this is that mod authors are allowed to delete any posts they don't like now, or ban anyone from commenting on their mod. Some mod authors even disable commenting on their mods altogether... -

It's a great way to support GOG and Nexus Mods at the same time. Feel free to share those links with your friends as well!)TDarkShadowMutant wrote: Don't forget to mention that Fallout 3 on GOG has the dreadful GFWL-drm removed and both F3 and FNV have been patched to be Large Adress Awareness enabled out-of-the-box.
So in a way, even if you got the games on Steam, the GOG version are superior.GamerPoets wrote: Hey Dark,
Large Address meaning 4GB? If you feel like tackling my other questions that I posted here I could use some help. -
In response to post #43793840.I was wondering this too, but reading further down the comments, Dark0ne reports that they have indeed been temporarily turned off.valc wrote: I "managed favorites" yesterday for the first time, adding Skyrim and SSE as my only two. Now I don't get notifications of comments on tracked files. None.
Was that feature turned off due to the weekend crunch? -

1) Let's merge the account of the Nexus site and the forum. I always found it totally pointless and really unpleasent (and unpractical) to have these 2 separated.
2) At this point, i believe a lot of people, aswell as me, have a nearly-infinite list "tracked" mods, in the apposite nexus tab. Yet there is no real search button for that tab. Can you implement the same "categories" filter for the "tracked mods" tab? That would be so sweet.
Thank you for all your work.mfeile1974 wrote: I second thisKnarrow wrote: Sounds like a great idea.captangan wrote: +1zanyoutlaw wrote: Me too.rayquaza94 wrote: That idea I proposed some time agoDark0ne wrote:1) Let's merge the account of the Nexus site and the forum. Can you explain this one more? You only need one account, and they are linked across the sites and the forum so if you login to one, you're logged in to the other.Dragonetti wrote: +1 ;) for these propositions. :)Pelopida wrote: Oh, really? Damn... so i guess it's bugged for me... whenever i'm logged in (or im not, doesn't matter) on the site, it doesn't connect me automatically to the forum. Like, in this very moment i'm logged to the site but not logged on the forums (i don't even remember the password lol). It was always like this for me, so i guessed it was meant to work this way.NeoH4x0r wrote:

@Dark0ne
I can confirm that being logged into www.nexusmods.com does not mean that you are also logged into forums.nexusmods.com.
I was logged in while looking at a user's profile on www.nexusmods.com and clicked the link to see their forum profile -- when I did this I got this message "Sorry, you don't have permission for that!" -- because I was not logged into the forum site.
Once I logged into the forum's site I could see their profile.powerchimp1 wrote: YES! Another vote for this.
And for the love of Talos, the ability to see all your posts / comments so you can click straight to them and see if anyone's replied.Dark0ne wrote: The login cookie is made when you use the login form on the site. If you haven't logged in to the site for a while then log out, then log in again, and see if its logged you in to the forums too.
If you aren't logged in after doing that then let me know, as that's a bug.Pelopida wrote: Oh, you are right, logging out and back in again did the trick. -
Quote: "Essentially, we’re going to stop all further major development on the current version of NMM to focus on the new software. We will be releasing bug fixes as and when necessary to keep support for the current games (including Skyrim SE), but the current version available on the site, version 0.63, is going to be the last version with any major functionality additions."
My reaction to this: "Hallelujah!"

If it aint broke, don't fix it... ;)

I'm sorry, this is obviously just my opinion, but having used NMM almost from its first beta release, I can't help but feel that it is already perilously too far down the 'bloatware' road.

In response to post #33696455.Oh, don't get me started on Geforce Experience... lol. I think the idea is good, but I got so fed up of it causing my games to crash, suggesting ridiculously low settings, and just plain not being set up for some games at all, I eventually completely gave up on it. It lowering my Skyrim FPS by about 20 at one point, was the final straw. Now every time I upgrade my drivers, the first thing I do after is uninstall Experience.NCRForever wrote: My load times are exactly as they have always been. Beta or stable. It's still up to 45 seconds. However, there is def some issue with the beta patch and nVidia GeForce Experience. With the beta, it wants me to LOWER my settings by 1/4. I am not sure why because even on max settings, my game runs smoothly with beta or stable. So am not sure what has changed.

This is why I have a different password FOR EVERY SINGLE SITE THAT I NEED ONE FOR. Even though it does mean I've got an annoyingly huge list of passwords to (try) to remember.

I also can confirm that Geforce Experience is the problem. Thank all that is Holy that I found out about this before I tried reinstalling Skyrim and about 200 mods... As it is, only wasted about 2 hours trying to find the fault.

Frankly I'm in awe of anyone who is looking forward to the 'Profiles' feature for the next release of NMM. I can barely keep track of what mods I've installed, and in what order, and what each of them effect, for all of the games that I mod, now, without having to keep track of multiple profiles!
