how do i access and change my mods without exiting skyrim?
braidedsin replied to scottstein001's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
.ESP or .ESM mods cannot be turned off and on during gameplay but things requiring SKSE or Dragonscript can be tuned or changed through the console. Apart from that, no way... -
Skyrim was working quite well with my system (i7, 5450 ati, blegh, 8gig ram) but suddenly I'm getting a weird stuttering that only happens in FPV. As soon as I get too close to a wall, or face the floor, or have over 4 candlesticks in view the screen jilts until I move to a different angle, then it stops. The same scene in 3rd person works perfectly and smoothly - wth?? It feels like once I'm in the guys head the game has a tougher time coping, while in 3rd it has even more to render but works better. Can anyone help me with this? I've added quite a few FPS improvements from the nexus and they've all helped, but I can't seem to fix this. (Is this what people consider 'screen tearing'??) edit: Took off triple buffering and vertical sync and the majority of the stuttering is gone unless I move my mouse while walking forward. Instead of jilting forward it jilts side to side lol >.< ah well

After clearing the Cragslane(?) skooma den I'd hoped to use it a base after the CK comes out, but if anyone could restore it so that you can actually bet on pit dogs i think it would be really cool. Other ideas: the land and scenery reminds me of MTG mana cards - perhaps a mod to influence certain aspects of magic spells whilst in a type of region. Conjuration or destruction in swamps, restoration in plains, etc. Exterior cells only id imagine... Had a ton more but now that im here i forget them all lol - ideas that is. Thank you for your time and kudos to the modders already adding to this kick ass game!

TBH this is me hacking up someone's work (again) and I'm getting stumped... If I succeed at this it's a personal toy or (with Hardkopy's permission) I'll release it for others. Hardkopy's toy , a remote control robobrain which explodes, is the center of my interest. Basically I'm trying to get a mesh of a scaled down vehicle (or even the nukacola truck) to sit overtop the original robobrain mesh so it has the appearance of being an actual vehicle - can anyone direct me to a tutorial or help me with this? I had everything looking aligned in nifskope but due to the scaling I ended up dropping a toe sized truck that crashed my game when activated lol I've seen a tutorial (here or on FO3 nexus) but I can't find it! It has everything to do with nifskope and getting everything attached properly so that it functions in-game... I can do textures and normal maps, I can attach textures and normal maps but I cannot get a .obj into a functioning nif that works in-game.. Any help would be appreciated :)

Could anyone please help me remove the top part of the hat1950sadultcap hat? I have a cool hood/hat combo but the top part of the cap clips through the hood, badly. I edited it in Maya but of course getting all of the data in nifskope setup properly isn't functioning... All that I need is everything except the bill of the hat deleted, can anyone please help me with this? Even if the textures get goofed I can fix that after lol

Limit weapon/ammo diversity
braidedsin replied to braidedsin's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Ideas
Just in case anyone can use this info: Even if 80% of the guns are deleted they may still appear in game. I had done this and when I went up against 4 people from Goodsprings one of them ended up pulling out a varmint rifle, one I'd specifically deleted. When I went to pick up the item it disappeared from my inv and the world. It's not to say this always happens but it's almost as if the NPC can sort of cheat to make sure it has a weapon equipped. Found out that by removing most of the weapons you get a cool barebones thing where fighting has to be strategic, it's pretty neat... -

Cool I will try that too, thank you. -
I've posted about this before but here's the full shebang: APE (Anarchy Peace Equality) is technically an overhaul pending the permission of a few other mod authors. Players are wanted (for reasons they can't know until the end) and absolutely everyone is out to get them. Sunny Smiles smiles no longer as you walk into the saloon; instead she runs and grabs a pool cue while old Pete starts hucking his leftover dynamite in your direction. Quite a few of the guns have been removed from the game as well as the overpowered melee weapons and about 90% of the clutter and ingestibles - leaving behind only the very useful items. Once the enemies have fallen the game shows you who actually has anything you can loot. (via a modified boon spotter perk that's almost finished) Fast Travel is disabled and hardcore mode is still optional but this mod breaks the main quest and is therefore almost guaranteed to be incompatible with other mods that deal with it. There's no vats nor NPC compass ticks. It'll be heavily recommended to do a fresh install in another directory as well. The player is no longer the 'courier' of new vegas but a 'courier' of a different variety and has no choice but to be involved in a corrupt world: The NCR is a vicious totalitarian regime focused on the total domination and control of the new vegas wasteland. The Legion are a bunch of nutcases guided by their Caesar towards the same end while the lunatic Boomers believe they can blow their way to victory. Jackals and Powder Gangers are small time in comparison but vying for a position of power - much like the Khans. Each has their own set of weaponry and preference towards combat (in a more extreme and noticeable way). Citizens of every origin fear all of the gangs and as the player sees they're more than willing to off you to keep themselves and their allies alive. With the permission of other mod authors players will see a riot stricken New Vegas Strip where The House's robots deploy smoke grenades and stun those who try to enter and much more. The help that I am requesting is someone who is familiar with quest editing and possibly FNVEdit. Much of the land remains the exact same apart from some changes in the strip and obviously a bit of additional content concerning the player's beginnings and his ultimate end. Combat is drastically changed as not every tom dick and harry carries a loaded .44 and much more emphasis is put on strategy and melee combat. If anyone is interested PM me here or reply

Corpse Explode Crash To Desktop
braidedsin replied to braidedsin's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
I thought it was audio based, as in it overlapped far too much audio at once or as you said the particles. Tried with nv4gb but still crashes... one thing I found is that without Nevada Skies the crashes are less frequent :( it's probably not the culprit but it helps... unfortunately... -

I'll give it a shot :) -
80% of ingame additional content removed (moveable statics, collectable, misc) Items always glow (like Boone's spotter perk but for items not enemies) Every Faction except one is out to kill the player. That one other faction is the people the PC helps. 6-7 ammo types remain & their respective users. Weight redone (with permission others have already done this) so no carrying ridiculous amounts of everything but still enough to allow a good amount of ammo, grenades and useful items. 6-7 Melee weapons remain. Fast Travel Removed Along with every faction hating the player 99% of the actual NV dialogue removed unless they never try to talk anyway. You'd figure this would be a game breaker but I've already done it. (with very selective *D quest picking as some kill the ability to make a new game and even reload if I'm not mistaken) And yes, it means 100% incompatibility with any other mod. ***** Game breaker as in it would crash or crash often but you'd be surprised, but duh it does break the main quest ****** The goal of the mod would be to get from point A to point B while collecting 10 or so carefully placed briefcases. No real quests, no real help, little to no dialogue but lots of shooting. I've done the majority of this already apart from the abilities, fast travel and factions but there's a couple of things I can't get to work: Factions. No matter how I change the player faction or where I put NPCs into factions the NPCs in the game remain unaltered. The whole point of the mod is that absolutely everyone is out to destroy you for some reason or another and wherever you go you'll be on your own trying to survive. If at first the idea seems really stupid it may well be but until you're forced, unarmed, into an extremely hostile place you won't see the fun of it. After removing a ton of the content including most ammo types and guns you find that fights become very tricky and the game takes on a sort of old school feeling. Instead of going around picking up century old weapons that are lying around everywhere every piece that you find is like a ticket to survival. I have about 50% of this done already (yes, starting a new game functions properly) but am missing the item ability as well as the factions. As for 'immersion' for this mod I plan on doing a bit of texturing to most of the races or making them all ghouls... If anyone could help me with these things I'd be very appreciative.

Just purchased New Vegas. Need Mod recomendations!
braidedsin replied to Dalendry's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
It really depends on what type of experience you want out of it... That being said I love old school shooters but also the CoD style combat and so: AmmoCollectFPS style: Walk over dead bodies picks up their ammo automatically RZW's Portables: Adds some gnarly misc items such as a functioning tv, gramaphone and (things for RP or just neat to look at) AAAJNF mods such as portable camping equipment, sniper zoom functions. ROBOBOMB remote control bomb A World of Pain: Must have for some extra killing and cool missions Chryslus Corvega: Still beta-ish but eventually you get a really neat fast travel alternative Nordic Weapons: Beautiful guns, to my taste anyway Readius: Pipboy alternative so many more The rest present themselves by how many people download them so go to any category and click show downloads in descending order to find the most popular mods of that category, endorsements works as well. That isn't to say that some of the best mods aren't popular but can be difficult to find...
