Hey, I have a heavily modded version of Skyrim running, and it was running perfect last night. Tonight I installed wet and cold, and lo and behold, I am getting a lot of stuttering. Perfectly fine frame rate 50-60 FPS, everything is up to date, and like I said, it was running fine last night. Has anyone run into this before? Any suggestions or workarounds? I couldn't find anything through "the google", so I thought i would hit you folks up :) Thanks in advance.

I think I found the culprit, Wet and Cold is causing it. I removed all of them one by one and tested, and I isolated the problem to this mod. Anyone else have issues with this mod?

Hey all, So, I have a heavily modded version of Skyrim with a decent PC (i5 2500K, 680 GTX). I have a lot of the popular mods (texture packs, warzones, COT, Book of Silence) and run ENB. I run at 1980 x 1200 (native) and turn the shadows down. Last night I had no problem maintaining 50-60 FPS with smooth screen scrolling (not sure what to really call it, but when you look around with the mouse), but after installing book of silence, wet and cold, immersive weapons, my screen just locks up for a few seconds and simply will not move. The game is still playing, it will just lock up. I can still walk forward, swing weapons, enter the menus, and the frame rate stays solid, but the mouse will no longer continue to move in the direction I want it to, its like it's hitting an imaginary wall, and there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or a reason to it. I use NMM, Boss and TES5edit to remove the ITM, any suggestions what may be causing this? Thanks in advance

So, I followed your advice by setting the follower count back to zero, and it worked, for the most part. The custom follower I installed previously will not follow me. I unistalled the custom follower prior to reinstalling UFO and setting the follower count to zero. After going the the proper process to reinstall UFO, I reinstalled the custom follower. When I go up to him the only dialogue option I get is "you know...", and after that nothing happens. So it looks like my save is effed, and I cannot use that guy anymore. I tested it on another vanilla follower, and I was able to get Lydia and her to follow me. So, all in all, not bad, in the end. Morale of the story? READ YOUR INSTRUCTIONS AND FOLLOW THEM CAREFULLY. Well... DUH!!!

I don't know who else it could be. When I originally loaded UFO the only follower I had was Lydia. I only knew that the additional follower didn't work AFTER installing UFO, and AFTER installing a user made custom follower. I asked this dude to be my follower, he said yes, and just stood there. Lydia continued to follow me. I was SURE to dismiss him prior to uninstalling UFO. Verified it specifically. What am I risking by doing your method? I really really really really don't want to mess this save up. I have started over so many times for various reasons.

I was having trouble with the UFO mod. I installed incorrectly, and I couldn't get additional followers to follow me. They would agree to, but just stand where they were, and not following me. All the dialogue options of the UFO mod appeared, but it didn't matter, because I could only have one follower anyways. I followed the very specific instructions included with the mod to a tee, except I didn't use the original launcher, which probably caused the problem. I just used NMM through SKSE loader. So.... Realizing the mistake I made (and cursing myself - I usually am a good direction follower), I uninstalled it. This time following the modders directions exactly like it was laid out. I dismissed all followers, went to the fly, the fly told me everything was deactivated. So I created a new save, uninstalled everything. So... I start the process over. I load through the launcher, open my game, check to make sure that Lydia is still dismissed (I never had any other followers), she was. Unfortunately, when I check through the console "show playerfollowercount" it comes back as 1.0000. The instructions specifically say it should say 0.000 (which it did the first time I did it through NMM). So.... here is my question? Did I mess it up so bad that it is a lost cause? Should I try to install it again? I stopped at this point and am looking for help. I have read that going back to an old save is a feasible option. Unfortunately, the only save I have that was pre-original load of UFO is MONTHS old (oops.....), I don't feel like going back again. So.... any thoughts? Thanks in advance. Sincerely, A moron that thought he was smarter than a modder even though I know nothing about modding :)

that worked. Bizarre. But actually, when I traveled to Windhelp I got a CTD immediately after the loading screen came up. The following time I fast traveled to Riverwood and it worked. However, I jsut got a freeze up after walking back to Windhelm to check things out. I'll hope that problem goes away.

Whenever I try and walk into the area around Whiterun to do the Battle of Whiterun quest I get massive stuttering. Not traditional stuttering often associated with v-sync, but the game locks up for a second or two, then plays for a second or two, and continues intermittently. It is completely unplayable. I do have some mods running which may be the culprit, I thought it was Warzones, so I uninstalled it through the NMM. However, that did not fix the problem. Also, I have to admit that I did not do a clean save uninstall as I carelessly did not read the directions. I was having some problems with Warzones so wanted to get rid of it anyways. Prior to the Battle of Warzones there was a Warzones skirmish that I had to keep walking around as it was causing my computer to lock up just west of Whiterun. I have a i2500K (not overclocked) and a GTX 680 so my computer should be beefy enough to handle it. I run a fair amount of mods, but not way over the top or anything like that, just the 2K retexture and Bethesda Hi-Rez update. I should mention that the game runs perfectly everywhere else other than in this area. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I do a lot of modding, but not the most technically minded guy in the world, I just usually am good at following instructions. Please help! I DO NOT feel like losing this save.

I tried running EVGA precision and you get an immediate CTD after the Bethesda screen. I am fairly confident ENB is not compatible with these types of programs. I have read that they are not compatible with any OSD, but frankly, I am not even sure what an OSD is (but I know afterburner MSI is one, and fairly confident EVGA Precision is as well - just being honest, I am kinda a noob when it comes to this stuff). I run game booster, and try to turn off all processes that may conflict, but I haven't been too aggressive on it as I am afraid I will shut something important down. It is a bizarre issue though for sure.

I did check the temps and they were fine. I do not use a fps limiter as most of them are not compatible with enb. Are there any that are compatible with enb?

Hey, So after playing modded Skyrim for a period of time (let's say between a half hour to an hour) I get worse and worse microstutter issues. Everything is fine in the beginning, but as I play longer it gets worse. If I quit to the desktop and re-load, the issue goes away. I did have previous problems with microstutter and screen tearing, but that was fixed by leaving Vsync on in the ini and not trying to use adaptive Vsync through the control panel. After doing this I pretty much maintain a solid 40-50 FPS in outdoor areas and 60 in indoors. Anyone have any idea what this is linked to? I have a i5 2500K (not overclocked), a GTX 680 2gb system. I run approximately 25+ (or so) mods most of which are graphical enhancements, and all of which are in the top 100 (other than the version of ENB I run - Skyrealism). The only game changing mod I run is warzones. I did change my uGrids to 7 with the appropriate cell buffer. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. But aren't the overwhelming majority of ENB mods not compatibale with MSI Afterburner? I know at least one that I was using is, is there going to be a conflict?

Hey, I have been having a lot of trouble with stutter and screen tearing despite maintaining awfully high FPS. Also, sometimes the screen will "hang up" when I am looking around. Like I will be moving my mouse from left to right and the screen will just get stuck after a bit of panning. I have a decent system so I don't think it's a bottle neck issue (i5 2500K @ 3.3, GTX 680, 8 GB Ram), and it doesn't really happen if I am just moving forward. I run a decent amount of the graphical enhancement mods (enb, texture packs, realistic lighting, W.A.T.E.R.) but not half as many as some of the users on here (I would say I am running between 20-25 mods). I bossed all my mods and read the instructions super carefully, I started getting CTD and freezing issues after installing Warzones, but that probably was because I had my uGrids set to 9, I scaled it down to 7 and that helped. I turned off the vsync in the .ini file and forced adaptive vsync in the control panel, and that didn't help. My frame rates are 100+ in interiors, and easily maintains 50-60 in exteriors even with ultra settings (gotta hand it to the GTX 680 - it is a beast!). It is a total bummer as it totally hampers the immersion factor. I've heard that some people are having problems with this and GTX 680? I have no frame of reference as my last card couldn't handle all the high end graphical mods. Is there a quick fix? Or is this a driver issue related to the GTX 680? Thanks.

Thanks Staind, I ended up doing another fresh install, but I will keep this in mind for the next time I mess it up :) Speaking of messing it up, I am doing everything I can to resist purchasing a new GTX 680, but I don't know how much longer I can hold out. If I install a new video card, will I run into a similar problem? From what it appears they way the renderinfo.txt is generated I probably will, but will your work around correct any issues?

So I decided to do a fresh install and got it working again. However, the CTD issue came back after I adjusted some of the graphics options in the launcher - specifically I adjusted the resolution.. I'm not a noob at the installation of mods, but certainly do not have the technical expertise to troubleshoot issues like this (I just read the directions very carefully). Anyone know what may be going on?

I have been having trouble getting ENB Sharpshooter's graphics mod to stay working. When I initially installed it it would immediately CTD after I tried to load a game, or start a new one. The game would load and it would display the MOD information in the upper right hand corner so I know it was installed correctly. So, I did a fresh install and had it running great with several other mods (all installed with the download manager). Unfortunately, after I did some tweaks in the NVIDIA control panel, the CTD issue is back. I restored all of the NVIDIA settings back to "factor presets" and it still CTD. I can always do another fresh install, but does anyone have any idea what may be going on? I don't overclock so I am not using any of the software that would cause that well known conflict. Only other differences from when I had it running correctly and when the CTD issue came back was the tweaking in the NVIDIA control panel, I also ran FRAPS and GameBooster, but I don't think either of those would be the issue? (I did uninstall both and give it a go, but it still CTD). Any thoughts? Thanks.
