Yeah, no, it didn't work. Exact same message saying FOSE is not installed and the Anniversary Patcher still does not function. I've posted this in several other forums so I guess it wouldn't hurt to post it here also. This is the error message I get when I try and use the patcher: "Hash checks completed. Found Steam/GOG executable. Backup created. This version of C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 3 goty\xdelta3.exe is not comp atible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of th e program, and then contact the software publisher. Press any key to continue . . ." Starting to drive me a little nuts as the solution has to be a simple one.

That's the version I am currently using. I downloaded and installed the TTW version of the patcher in error which I thought may be the problem. I thought I'd gotten rid of the TTW files but I suspect there may be some lurking gremlin that prevents the patcher file from working. Since the rollback to 1.2 is what is required to get FOSE to work with the FWE mod, I figured I'd just reinstall 1.2 and be done with it.

The Fallout Anniversary Patcher is not working for me so I had a thought of uninstalling FOSE 1.3 and reinstalling 1.2. How does one go about doing that though as there is no uninstall file that I can find? Thanks in advance.

Forgive me of my sin! Hopefully I will not be cast out of heaven for posting twice... -
Finally got around to doing this. When I run the patcher I get this stupid error message that my OS is incompatible. Running Win7 SP1. WTH?

Ok, there is where the confusion is. On the download page there is the Anniversary Patch and a file for the downgrader. My internet is s#*! so it would take a week to re-download the game. Is there a way to clean out certain files that were installed and call it good?
-
Yes. FOSE had been working up until the update. No Error messages when running downgrader. The two files mentioned in my first post were the ones that were suggested to fix the update glitch. I took this to mean to install both. My question is do both need to be installed and is there a set sequence or procedure necessary. In addition, a reply to a different post suggested running the game from fallout.exe and another said to run from FOSE after installing these files. ??????

No one?

Ok, launching FOSE from FOMM results in the same error that originally brought me here, and the game is in Steam-SteamApps-Common-FO3 GOTY folder, not program files. So, I got these two files that are supposed to fix things. Do you install both or just one? Or is there a set order and procedure to installing both, or what?
-
Oh, I thought the readme said to use Fallout.exe and that FOSE would load automatically. Use fose_loader.exe? EDIT: Using fose_loader just results in the same error message as when trying to load the game from FOMM.

So I downloaded the Anniversary Patch and the Downgrader but must of effed something up because, although the game works, I constantly get messages that FOSE is not installed. Did I load them in the wrong order? Was I suppose to install only one? I launched the game from the Fallout.exe and not the mod manager.

So there appear to be two files, the anniversary patcher and the downgrader. Are both to be installed? The patcher gave me a message that my O/S may not be compatable, but I hit continue anyhow. Installed downgrader after that. Ran game from fallout.exe, started fine, but all I get are error messages that FOSE is not installed. Obviously I did something wrong as I thought the purpose of the downgrader was to alleviate the update curse. Help!
