  1. For others looking this up in the future, it ridiculously simple. In her trade menu, while she's wearing her original outfit, give her an armour chestpiece and equip it to her ('T' on PC.) Her base outfit isn't compatible with body armour. Once her base outfit comes off, take it away from her, then take away the armour (which doesn't disappear from the list like clothes do.) If you've already taken it by giving her a different outfit, put it back on her and follow these steps, or use a different outfit that gets kicked off when armour is applied. Too many complex or vague "solutions" when it's really so simple. Side note: Whatever you do, DON'T LET GO OF HER RED COAT OUTFIT! Sometimes she glitches and her hands disappear. Reequipping her base outfit will restore her.
  2. One of the most tragic things I've ever read... and experienced. For probably the 4th time (?) a game's progress has halted mid-civil war, right at the end of A False Front. I've tried everything commonly suggested short of Season Unending (only did that once ever, to experience it, and Tullius never stopped bitching about the compromises I made. Never again...). Mission-related console commands are becoming notoriously unreliable for other things as well, such as Thane quests, which also frequently get stuck. Half at my wits end with these devastating bugs in crucial parts of the game.
  3. I know this is an old post, so my apologies to those "necropost" nitpickers, but It's still a relevant topic and I have something current to contribute to those who find this the same way I did (as it was the top suggestion on my search on the subject). There is a mod, right here on Nexus, that will let you wear a full set of BOTH light and heavy armor at the same time. It's a mod that let's you craft Invisible Armor (in both light and heavy, including shields). This armor takes advantage of the slot system for a number of benefits. You can wear invisible armor naked so you can run around nude but still have an armor rating, it can be worn over clothing-class items to give you total freedom of fashion, or it can be worn with other armor. For instance, you could wear full heavy armor and add light invisible armor, or vice verse. The slots were carefully selected, it seems, so they don't take up the base armor slots but still count toward all relevant stats and perks (including Matching Set, etc.) This post help me understand how the system worked and, hopefully, my contribution will help others to manipulate said system to their advantage.
  4. I'm so glad I found these codes. I have Convenient Horses but I gave my active horse to Inigo and the hostler at Whiterun wouldn't sell me a replacement. I was able to summon a new one for myself instead.
  5. I can name a Dawnguard-related plot hole that's been bugging me for quite some time... Even though it's never mentioned, how in Oblivion does Valerica know the Dragonborn is a vampire hunter. She makes a huge issue out of it as a reason Serana shouldn't travel with you, but there's no way she could have known in the first place. She couldn't have any knowledge outside the Soul Cairn or she wouldn't have been surprised to see Serana there. She's been down there for centuries so it's also doubtful she would recognise Dawnguard armour, assuming you happen to be wearing it at the time (which I never do.) Makes no sense whatsoever.
  6. The "Bless Home" spell is for mod-based player homes (such as Fellburg Castle) making them options to move a family into, such as when you get married and your spouse asks where you want to live. Some mod homes won't show up on that list unless you use that spell first to establish it as a viable family home.
  7. I reequipped her default outfit and her hands came back, then I took it away again and she's still fine. Looks like the problem is solved. I hope it never happens again, but if it does, I now know a feasible fix. The tip about the gloves on the outfit helped me figure it out, so thanks. Just in case, I think I'll make a point of keeping her outfit in my inventory. Usually I store it away at a settlement, but I think I should keep it handy, all things considered.
  8. Thanks, but I'm sure that's not it. I haven't downloaded any mod recently that affects her appearance. It's not anything she's currently wearing either, as the only thing she's wearing is the CBBE body (i.e. nothing) and I've had that mod for months with no issues. This only started yesterday and nothing was changed in terms of mods, settings or outfits. It was very sudden and I'm baffled. It's still persisting today. She's been out of my "service" and gone back to DC for the "Sheep's Clothing" quest and her hands are still missing. However, I will give it a shot to put her back in her original clothes and see if that helps.
  9. Piper's hands are invisible and I don't know what's wrong or what to do. It's very bizarre because it's only Piper, no other Companions or NPCs seem to be affected by this problem. It just her hands that are missing (as far as I can tell, as I'm using CBBE and the mesh covers all but hands and head.) My list of mods is far too long to write here and I know nothing about coding on any level, but if anyone might have some sort of insight into what might be causing this, I'd appreciate any reasonable attempt to point me in the right direction sorting it out. Thanks. (Side note, I also noticed the inventory image for a pair of gloves is rather wonky, if that helps or could be related. I tried to put them on her to try to for the textures to reappear -didn't work- and noticed the two gloves were separated far apart from each other. Normally, they're shown close together.)
