  1. Sorry for not replying more promptly to you guys, I was under the impression I would be notified when this thread was responded to. I'm not the most familiar with online forums, as it turns out x-x I'm glad you like the idea, and I understand that a lot of people probably won't have the experience, patience, or desire to help me learn. I find it interesting that the replies so far are focusing on the third of this mod that I'm actually least excited about (The reputation system). Ideally I wouldn't be adding new dialogue. I've had a long history of acting experience, but voice acting is honestly a different field, and my recording setup is desperately lacking. So ideally I'd like to accomplish that particular aspect of this mod without adding any new dialogue, simply by using pre-existing lines from the game, or by tweaking what triggers certain lines. Naturally, if I had the resources and material, I would absolutely try to create a fully voiced version of this mod, but it's simply too ambitious =/ Thank you for the positive feedback ^^ And while I wouldn't mind too much if someone takes it over, I'd really prefer to not be completely cut out of the process. I hope it's not too disingenuous of me to withhold certain chunks of information about my plans for this mod, but my primary goals here are to provide the community with something useful, and to learn, and I simply can't ignore either aspect. I had never seen that before, but you're absolutely right! However, it is only a third of what I'm aiming for. I might try to contact Eckss and ask him if he would mind contributing ^^ Just set up your forum profile settings to forward PMs to your email address. And perhaps a filter in gmail as well (mine go now into the "Social" category). Thanks for the help, as I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I'm really new forums. I'm used to using Steam or Skype to talk to my friends, and otherwise just playing games, so I appreciate any help, even if it's not related to the mod ^^ Thanks to everyone who's replied so far <3
  2. TLDR: NPC Interaction is bad, I have an idea to fix it, but I want to help create the mod so I can learn. I've never modded Skyrim before, let me just get that out of the way. I've put a lot of hours into the game, and I love it and much of Bethesda's other work, though not enough to ignore some of its flaws. I think this must be a vital part of modding; being able to recognize the problems and not hate the game for how many of them there are. It was an ambitious project, and there's nothing else quite like it, so I think the tools they've provided to make modding the game so easy more than make up for the bugs, lack of certain somewhat obvious features, and overall room for improvement. With that out of the way, I want to get into modding. I've got the creation kit downloaded and am watching the tutorials Bethesda made, but I'm almost entirely certain they won't fully prepare me to create the thing that I want to create. I'm about to explain what that thing is, but keep in mind; the description will be vague. The idea here is for me to find someone to teach me and help me create this mod, not to give and idea away. You don't even have to put my name on it when it's done and uploaded, I just want it to exist, and for me to have the experience. An Overhaul of general NPC Behavior with regards to the player Or whatever better name we come up with By whoever decides to help me make it. I want this mod to do a large number of different things; I don't throw around the word "Overhaul" lightly. A reputation system involving both fame and infamy, an advanced faction recognition system, and an overhaul to the crime system are the main implements I have planned for this project. The problems I'm aiming to fix include: Wearing Dark Brotherhood or Guild armor is basically advertising your nefarious ties, but the guards do nothing about it.Stealth gameplay/Crime is -way- too easy and exploitable. The crime tracking of Tamriel has improved in gameplay, and devolved realistically since Oblivion. What's up with that?I'm the Arch-Mage of the College, Harbinger of the Companions, and literally saved the world from Dragons. Please explain to me why I still have to do fetch quests to become the thane of your hold?"Sure, you're a necromancer who has been known to kill his own followers, just to resurrect them so they'll be stronger. But wow, 500 gold, count me in!" said the last mercenary in Skyrim. And a few others. So I hope the scope of this project is pretty clear. I don't want to be too ambitious, I'm certainly not ready to make a full game overhaul yet, or anything that adds excessive amounts of new content. However, I think the vast majority of this mod can be accomplished with a few script changes and the addition of one or two new NPCs, and my hope is that it will be almost universally compatible. Like I said, I've never modded Skyrim before, or any other game for that matter. I understand if nobody out there wants to help me learn, and I realize I might be asking for too much. But if you could find it in your hearts, and your schedules, to show me the ropes, I'll give you full credit for this mod, and mentions in all of my future work. I've got so many ideas, I just need some help bringing them to fruition. Thanks for reading this, if you did. And thanks in advance to anyone who is even considering responding. I'm unlikely to read my nexus messages often, honestly, but my email is [email protected], and you can find me on Steam or Skype as Captain Meowbuns Sparkleface. Before you delve into my social life, I'll warn you, I'm unusual. TLDR: NPC Interaction is bad, I have an idea to fix it, but I want to help create the mod so I can learn.
