  1. I agree completely. I play RPGs mostly for the character development, interaction, and storytelling. The action is a welcome addition, but secondary, and there are plenty of games that provide difficult battling for those who want them. There are not too many real RPG's anymore. I would love to be able to spend less time switching party members so I can have the immersion I look for.
  2. I just wanted to add that I found the easiest way to figure this out is to work backwards from the end point. There are only two ways to light the last fire at that point, up or right. I start there and trace my way back to work out a path. It still takes some trial and error, but it gives me a head start.
  3. Is there a link for it? Txs :thanks: Click below. It should get you there. Open Lock Spells Mod
  4. There is a mod available that gives mages an unlock spell tree. I have it and it does work for me.
  5. Since no one appears to yet be working on this, I suspect it is an extremely difficult, if not impossible, task with the current tools available. That's really a shame since so many people want a larger party size. I would download and test a mod like this in a minute if one should become available. I've tried the runscript solution, but it doesn't solve the problem. I want party members available for roleplay, not just be there to provide added firepower in battles. I do miss Wizardry and what I imagine Andrew and Robert could have done with current techology.
  6. I agree with the OP's request for a mod that allows the PC to change appearance without restarting a new character. I was about to start a thread for this myself, but figured I would first search to see if one already exists. I would love a mod like this. After all, a lady is entitled to change her hair style and makeup as she chooses.
  7. I just downloaded two ranger mods from this site; one reduces the spawn time, the other adds additional summons. I have not tried them yet, but they are there and I shall.
  8. A heartfelt "yes, please!" from me, too.
  9. Okay, I just did this and will try to point you in the right direction. Sorry if I'm saying things you already know, but -- This is kind of like the puzzle where you move tiles to line up a picture or numbers in the correct order. If you look at the floor tiles, you'll see that each has an arrow pointing in some direction. That shows that when a tile is on fire, it will light the one next to it in that direction. In other words, if a lit tile's arrow is pointing to the right, it will light an adjacent tile on its right. So, you need to move tiles by right clicking on them; a tile can move only to an adjacent empty square. It helped me to look at the arrows at the end and try to figure out how to move the tiles to get the right path. It took some trial and error, but I did not find it too hard. I hope this gives you the kick start you were looking for.
  10. There is a hotfix for this. I don't have the link offhand, but I did pick it up from the social.bioware network. If I recall correctly, the hotfix was created by a Bioware team member and fixes the dex/str damage for bows and daggers.
  11. I'm delighted to see that others also think this is a good idea. I wish I knew how to do it, but I don't. Clearly it seems possible because there is a console command that allows you to add party members. I don't like it or use it because you cannot see their portraits and it just isn't immersive although I understand they can fight for the group. I would disagree that it unbalances the game in favor of the player for two reasons. 1) The game is unbalanced against the player for a lot of us, and 2) An individual player can choose to not have more than four in his/her party. Since it is a single party rpg, I favor personal choice on that issue. My real hope is that Bioware might honor these requests and patch it to allow for additional party members, but if they don't I'm still hoping for a mod. I know it will not be an easy programming task, but after what I saw in Oblivion mods, I'm sure the talent is here to accomplish it.
  12. I also agree with a lot of what you say. Regarding the "everbody runs" issue, however, I felt the same way, but found that I absolutely could toggle between walk and run. I'm not sure if the originally mapped key control worked, but I mapped it to "R" and it works perfectly. Hope this helps a bit.
  13. I haven't done all that much of it; I've just finished Lothering with a couple of characters, but I have played through almost all origin stories, and I have not crashed yet. This is with some DLC and a couple of small mods, ane one patch downloaded. I think that's pretty stable for new game.
  14. I do not even know if it is possible, but I would like to have a party of five or six traveling together. I think four is too few. One of the things I liked most about the Wizardry games was that you get to create your own party of six and spec them as you choose. Yes, I realize the Wizardry series is ancient for most of today's gamers, but it was the first really immersive and large CRPG and I loved it. In any case, a party increase mod is on my wishlist.
