Also make sure it's only your game and not your entire desktop. Probably not the case but this happened to me in GTA once: while I was playing my screen suddenly got all the way zoomed in. The cause of that was a Microsoft service which somehow got activated.

Which begs the question: how are you downloading those mods? Manually using your browser of using the Vortex client? Considering the fact that I never had any problems (with both options) I'm positive that the cause of the problem lies somewhere with your setup. For example: Nexus can remember your login session, it does this by setting a cookie. So if your browser decides to clean up all the cookies then yeah, you're going to have to log in again. But that wouldn't be something Nexus did....

Ill Met by Moonlight Quest completely FUBAR
ShelLuser replied to Stellerman7's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
It's a known issue. Best you can do is open an old save and try again. Also... I suggest installing the Unofficial SE patch if you haven't already. This fixes a lot of commonly known problems with Skyrim that Bethesda never got around of fixing. Do note that I don't know from mind if this quest has also been fixed, I assume as much because I never had issues with it. Hope this can help. -
First I can tell you that Skyrim SE didn't get updated last month (using Steam I assume?), at least not in the way you might think. Just check the Steam product updates. I can also assure you that there isn't an incompatibility between SkyUI and Skyrim SE (I know that because SkyUI works perfectly fine here). So the thing you're not telling us is how you installed all this? Alas... My assumption is that you got SKSE using Steam and also used your Steam client to install it. That can lead to some unwanted behavior. So instead I suggest you use the official website to get the latest version for Skyrim SE and make sure that you're also actually using that to start the game. Then there's SkyUI itself. Make sure that you grabbed the SE version and didn't accidentally grab the 'Oldrim' version. Note: just mentioning this for completeness sake. That should help get you up & running. When in doubt I'd re-install SkyUI just in case (extremely easy when using Vortex) right after you re-installed SKSE.

Premium with ~500kb/s download speed. Are you blocking my ip?
ShelLuser replied to lucifeh's topic in Site Support
There's one very important aspect here which everyone should keep in mind: Internet routes. When you connect to Nexus then your data travels past a dozen of different computers (servers and routers alike). Which means that if something is amiss with any of those routers (or servers) then that will also affect your connection with Nexus. And there also lies the problem: the connection between Nexus and my computer will follow completely different routes (read: it'll pass different servers & routers) than yours. A good way to check for this is the "tracert" command in Windows (traceroute on Unix / Linux). So try, for example: tracert nexusmods.com. (full instructions: press win-r (win = windows key), enter 'cmd' as the command to run (without the quotes) and then use the tracert command I shared before. That should give you a good indication where things go wrong for you. I'm quite positive that your problems are caused by routers (or servers) between you and Nexus, not the Nexus site itself. These things can really get weird.. I'm a devoted Minecraft player (though I have been taking a bit of a break lately) and I spend a lot of time on a US Minecraft server. Sometimes it happened (especially in the morning (local time)) that I would get kicked off for 20 or so minutes. I couldn't reach the Minecraft server nor the related website. But a friend of mine who lives 20km away had no issues at all. As it turned out my data was relayed through a bunch of routers and one of those sometimes acted up. This is the kind of weirdness you sometimes can experience on the Internet. -
Thanks, appreciate the feedback. As I said above: I hope this can help you guys out a bit somehow :)

Disclaimer: I'm not trying to start a discussion about the forum rules, please respect this intent and don't turn the thread into something it wasn't meant to be. The only reason I'm posting here is because the original thread is locked and this seemed the best place to me. Hi gang! So I read the forum rules (see link above) and with all due respect but... I really hope you don't mind me suggesting this. Thing is: I read that thread and it really looks dated. I'm pretty sure it works for you guys, not trying to deny that, but I just wanted to give my own feedback on the whole thing. As such I hope you don't mind me sharing my approach: Welcome newbies! Whether you're new to using forums or a very casual poster please take the time to read through this post so that you'll understand how we like things to work around Nexus. 1 - Keep it family friendly! This forum is a place for players of all ages to talk about pretty much everything that has to do with gaming. When it comes to gaming some players often focus on the latest and greatest specs and sometimes even show a bit of disdain for players who don't have the most up to date hardware. Please don't! 2 - Quality over quantity! Quantity doesn't make quality. Don't try to boast on these forums, please respect the fact that there are also plenty of players who still enjoy games such as Morrowind. This even applies to these very forums: don't think that having a higher post count makes your comments any more valuable than those of a new poster. 3 - Don't spam What is spam you ask? Posting oneliners. For example: replying to a thread with: "Hey!", "yeah", "lol", "nah", etc.Posting the same post in different treads to try and gain attention.Posting something that has nothing to do with the original thread.Posting in a thread with the only intent to "BUMP" it (BUMP => Bring Up My Post, so trying to put the thread on top of the forum).Posting links to your own sites (or "off site comments") with the sole intent to get people to visit all that.4 - Don't flame on Nexus Don't post generally insulting or disrespectful comments towards another member of the Nexus community. For example: just because you don't agree with someone doesn't give you the right to call them an idiot, that can be considered flaming. Don't make it personal! It's perfectly fine to disagree with someone, but you disagreeing with someone does not give you the right to start calling them names! 5 - We don't like trolls Deliberately posting comments which don't help anyone and are only meant to invoke players to comment in dislike of your post is not appreciated. Don't post stuff when you can easily know up front that it might trigger people to share their dislike. No one wants flame fests here (see point 4 for flames). 6 - Don't necro threads! If a thread hasn't had any new posts in over a month you should consider it dead. Don't quote someone to ask them to explain their post, it adds nothing to the thread as it was. Also don't post if your comment doesn't add anything useful (while everyone appreciates positive feedback it honestly doesn't help just to post "thanks" to a thread which had long been abandoned). 7 - Do not hijack threads When someone asks a question then they hope to get answers for that. Do not abuse the thread by trying to goat people into helping you to solve your own issues; a thread is first and foremost about the original poster ("OP"), not you. 8 - Don't steal reviews Don't copy someone elses work on Nexus while pretending that it is your own. For example a review written by someone else. Not only is this a form of theft, it also goes against the idea of reviewing: remember point 2! The idea is to share your opinion, not just copy someone elses. That only adds up to spam. 9 - Don't mini-mod If you see someone breaking the rules then please click the 'report' button to alert Nexus staff, don't try to "correct" things yourself by commenting to tell the poster how they broke the rules. The problem here is that if the poster is a notorious offender they'll try to challenge you and that can only lead to flame fests and worse. No one wants that. Just report, ignore and move on! 10 - One account per player Don't try to register multiple accounts, there is absolutely no need for that. If you think you need to 'hide' your writing by using another account then it's probably not worth sharing in the first place. It even may result in the removal of your account entirely! The only exception to this rule are Nexus staff who sometimes need "regular" accounts (= accounts without modding privileges) to test these forums. Please respect these 10 Nexus commandments. Do with this as you deem fit.

I am having a problem with skse for legendary skyrim using NMM
ShelLuser replied to culveraaron's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Now, I don't have any experience with 'Oldrim' but I can say that modding SE (for me at least) was seriously easy. Sure, I did run into a few problems (followers misbehaving, parts of my characters body not bouncing around (don't ask ;)), the whole game crashing when I entered a building or hitting quicksave and at one moment my entire game not starting at all). But in the overall it was just picking the mod I wanted to use, click "Vortex" to start remote installation and then installing and activating it. Anyway, good luck, hope things work out for you! -

I can't tell for sure (also because I prefer Vortex myself) but this is a classic reason why I don't rely on mod managers to do everything for me. Alas, first the obvious: are you sure you started SKSE and not the default Skyrim game? Anyway, my advice would be to remove the SKSE installation you have now, download the latest version from the official website and then install that. -
I can't tell which one is better because so far I only used Vortex and I heavily favor it. Still, it is my believe that many people underestimate the things you can actually do with Vortex. As to female companion mods (and I suppose also female body mods?)... Obviously I'm (roughly) using the same mods as you do but I did notice that you're not using the unofficial SE patch; some mods depend on this (and IMO it also makes the game run better in the overall). I'm using Racemenu, XP32MSSE and FNIS just like you do, but instead of HDT PE I'm relying on CBPC - CBP for my physics and UNP female body renewal (NSFW!) to make my female characters look better. Please note: not claiming that this is "better" (I honestly wouldn't know), just sharing which setup works for me. As to followers... it's all personal taste obviously but I'm quite hooked on: Sofia (a bit of an adult mod because she constantly makes "weird" jokes ;)).Lilly (female courier replacement).Elvi the last Dragonborn.AaliyahDorian StarsingerI can also highly recommend Amazing follower tweaks, but keep in mind that the main reason I do so is because I personally don't enjoy SkyUI. Even so, this gives you a good amount of control over your followers and all within the regular menus as well (which I think makes it easier to use). Hope this can help.

I'm by far an expert on modding (not yet anyway ) but I've been here myself... First: try removing the mods you recently added (just disable them in Vortex) and see what happens next. Be very careful with save files: try to load a save from before you added those mods. If everything is back to normal then you have a solid setup to fall back on. Next, as boring as this may sound, enable the mods one at a time. Enable a mod, test to see if it behaves, save your game and repeat. This should help you find out which mod exactly caused all the problems. Also: Vortex has embedded support for L.O.O.T. (the Load Order Optimization Tool), and although it might not be perfect (I can't tell, basing myself on messages I read) it is my experience that it can still do a pretty good job. In other words: I wouldn't bother with the launcher (come to think of it: if you use SKSE you wouldn't even get a launcher so.... is it possible that SKSE isn't running?) but use the 'plugins' section within Vortex instead. Hope this can give you some ideas! (edit): Just mentioning for completeness sake: start Vortex, go to your dashboard and make sure that you enabled the "FNIS Integration" option. This makes sure that FNIS gets updated every time you install (or remove) a mod which depends on FNIS (basically: the FNIS updater gets run). You probably know this already but figured I'd mention it anyway, this is what caused me quite a few issues in the past ;)

Hi gang! I would like to share my appreciation as well as admiration for both the Nexus website and of course the Vortex client. This evening I dove much deeper into Skyrim modding than I had anticipated (in short: a mod went haywire on me ending up on my followers getting "corrupted": their dialog would be that of a follower, but their actions let them straight to their homes / default locations). Not only did I manage to undo the problems (I know about the risks of removing a mob in between saves) I also figured that I should grab some more mods and well... one thing led to another  I've learned quite a bit about Vortex in the mean time (though I still got plenty to discover), for example I wasn't aware (but had suspicions) that L.O.O.T. was somewhat integrated, that is definitely a nice touch. I really think that way to many players highly underestimate the things you can actually do with Vortex (such as my example above with the followers: thanks to both Vortex and the Follower mod I managed to reverse the damage, even though I prefer playing with the Amazing Follower tweaks). Originally I decided to go Premium because I could afford it and it seemed the right thing to do (also because I planned on modding more than just my favorite of Skyrim SE... which, on a side note, is another thing I heavily respect: I originally modded Skyrim SE purely as a guest user. I thought that was a really solid setup). And even when I seriously messed up (= classic PEBCAK on my part) I still got all the help I needed to help me learn what I did wrong, so much for my false assumptions that Vortex couldn't cleanly update itself ("oops"). So yeah, wanted to share. I'm seriously enjoying Nexus / Vortex and I think you guys are doing an amazing job with this platform which makes mods much more accessible to us players!

Hi gang! First of all I'd like to share my deepest respect & many compliments for all the hard work that must have gone into Nexus as well as Vortex. What I truly admire about the whole project is that although you guys are obviously trying to persuade me to turn off my adblocker and hope that I go premium you never - ever - blocked my attempts at grabbing some nice goodies. And that gains you guys my respect (I take that quite seriously). This only went up when I just discovered that I could easily become a supporter for one month without the reoccurring payments (it's a non-option for me because I refuse to link Paypal to my bank account, for me paypal is my "Internet piggy bank"; where I store some money to use online but always making sure that it's an amount I don't care to lose). I'm already quite sure that I'll eventually become a life time supporter, but first things first ;) Figured I'd say hi! ;) About myself.. I consider myself a casual gamer, been playing on the PS3 for many years when I eventually decided to hop to PC; which happened earlier this year. I discovered you guys thanks to Steam (which is where I get my games from) and Skyrim. First I added some mods using the SE edition's native 'mods' menu option, then I noticed that a body enhancer mod had a non-censored version on Nexus and being the guy that I am I decided to check it out, purely for "scientific purposes" obviously ;) Grabbed myself a decent amount of mods to enhance my Skyrim gameplay (I'm not really looking for in-game nudity, though I have to admit that Sofia is hilarious) and it. just. worked. Yah, so today I bought myself Dragon Age Origins (Steam discount) and discovered that Vortex (so: you guys!) supported that as well. Together with KOTOR (which I also got). So yeah, that's where I drew the line: two games modded? That deserves something back :) Alas, thats all from me. Thanks again for all the hard work and effort that went into these massive projects. This is honestly quite awesome :) With kind regards, Peter
