  1. Hey there, when I COC to falkreathexterior01 use weather fw 81a, and move through the gate into the forrest, I'm noticing that the shadows that the trees are receiving from other trees, so the shadows from branches etc. are popping in only a few feed away from me. Anybody know what ini setting is controlling this distance? I've tried all the obvious ones and they are all not having any effect on this. I dont think its mod related. Thanks :)
  2. Titel says it all....is there anyone out there with the same problem and got it solved? Must be some mod....Im reinstalling my XP32 skelleton to see if its something like this, but I could really need some help. :(
  3. Thanks! I could go for a GTX980, just dont want to spend the extra 200 if R9 would do the job better for Skyrim. Anybody else wants to chime in before I make my order? ;)
  4. I would just update my card. I run on a i5 processor with 8 GB of memory. Atm. I use monitor that can go up to 1980x1080. But sometimes I also use my 50" Samsung Smart TV (if I have friends over, or my girlfriend wants to play. she hates monitors). I'm not focussing on 4k....2 K is nice enough and for me at the moment. But I do like GPU breaking ENBs and adding stuff to the environment (high-res clutter and characters). On characters I do like to use ultra high normal maps and textures, because it is what we look at the most when playing.
  5. Overall, I'm still confused about AMD vs Nvidia for Skyrim. Anyone willing to pitch in? Other info is also welcome!
  6. Yes, I generally play stuff like Mass Effect, Witcher, GTA, TES, but also stuff like FIFA, NBA etc. I've noticed that for the newest games, even my 7950 is still pretty good. But Skyrim beats the hell of out this card. Also, I still play Skyrim the most. So my new card should best fit Skyrim. More input is very welcome! :)
  7. Hey there, I'm really stuck on a decision and was hoping you could help me. Currently I'm still playing Skyrim heavily modded (SFO, ELFX, Verdant Grass mod, high res texture packs overhauling literally everything in Skyrim, all kind of gameplay mods, ENB's newest libraby with a tweaked Vanilla Ice ENB). I'm still on a Gigabyte HD7950 3GB card (new gen i5 with 8GB RAM) and now, with the newest ENB library sets, I've noticed massive fps drop to about 24 fps average with massive lag spikes in large areas. I'm now thinking about upgrading my vid card to a Gigabyte GTX980 card. The thing is, I've noticed that NVidia cards have lower memory bus and memory bandwidth compared to AMD. In benchmarks the GTX cards beat everything else out there, but I was wondering if the same goes for a heavily modded Skyrim. Isn't bandwith and memory bus especially important for it? I've always used AMD but this time I'm really considering NVidia, but I want to buy my card aimed at Skyrim. I would really appreciate any input you could give to the matter. 8. Hey guys I've been going crazy over this because there are SOOOO many Rock altering mods out there. Some using Parallax, others aren't. Some using rough textures, others arent. etc. So I want YOUR opinion! What Rock altering mod are you using at the moment? Even if it's a part of a larger texture pack, I want your opinion on the best rock mod out there. Atm, I'm using Vivid Landscapes - Rocking Stones and Mountains Parallax for ENB - Brownish 2K. Are there better rock mods out there?
  9. Hey, sorry for the late response. Had a thesis to finish. My save game is 11,073 KB. Recognized Plugins: Unrecognized Plugins: SKSE Plugins: This is all. I'm looking forward to your feedback!
  10. A while I ago I reported an increasing instability of the game when I was about 20 hours in gameplay, where it would be CTD mayhem at about 35 hours of gameplay. People told me to try to reproduce the crash, to force it to find out its source. Now I've not been able to do this exactly, but I did notice that Skyrim is getting more and more unstable after each progress on building my first HF house. When I'm about 80% done, my game is getting very CTD-ish all over. Does this make any sense to you guys? Because, to me....It doesn't. XD
  11. Will do so....I'll get back to you... THanks for everything so far!
  12. About cleaning mods. I read somewhere that cleaning ITMs might actually harm the mod sometimes as they are sometimes left in place to bypass settings from the unofficial patches, back to the original settings. Sounds logical to me, but I would like your opinion. Skyrim.ini skyrimprefs.ini
  13. Oh I disabled some mods before cleaning, note that EVERY mod in boss list is usually active.
  14. Ok...here we go... First of all, describing the CTDs in more detail is not really possible as they are as random as can be. Sometimes it happends when I go through a door to a different level of a dungeon, sometimes when I'm roaming the wilds, sometimes when I enter the inventory, or menu, or map. Sometimes when I'm talking to an NPC....The list could go on. BOSS list recognized plugins: Boss unrecognized plugins: Also I'm using Skyrim HD 2K. I think all the other texture mods have a plugin. Also I'm using UNP model, with texture overhauls. Better males with texture overhauls. (everything hi-res) Beast overhauls such as SC Khajiit improvements etc. SOMBER ENB I've tweaked the ini files a little to accomodate them for ENB. I never tweak them by hand but I use INI tweaker. No changes to uGridsToLoad or stuff like that. Also I'm using ENBoost and CTD patch. I'm following the Skyrim Stability Guide to the letter: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50244/? Core 2 DUO e8500 overclocked and stable @ 3.2 Ghz 8 GB RAM Gigabyte HD7950 @ 3 Gb VRAM Windows 7 x64 Anything else you guys need?
