These are wonderful! Thank you so much :) As Brandy said, youtube videos...maybe out on the tundra chasing reindeer, if you don't mind. ;) Skyrim could use a temporary holiday invasion.

Truly, I am happy for you! Setstage 57? One little ole problem should not get in the way of enjoying the DLC, but somehow...it happens. The console is a life saver! Thanks for letting us know how you solved it in your case.

Hey again. Seeing as you say that is your load order (it appears a bit out of order), I would suggest picking up the program BOSS (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6). Super easy to use and solves so many issues, if not with this problem, than with perhaps future ones. For instance, DG is an esm and should be very high in your load order. For Dawnguard, I hope you have the latest Bethesda Skyrim patch, 1.8, from Steam.

CTDs frequently. Can you help me pinpoint the issue?
Aliera Caine replied to kapruitt85's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
@kapruitt85: First off, this is just info, not a solution. Windows 8 is a new animal for Skyrim. Notice the bar charts on how Skyrim runs comparing different Windows versions: http://hardforum.com...d.php?t=1651017 Windows 7 is still the most stable platform for it. So I was wondering if you have always run the game on Windows 8? And adding a lot of mods to the mix including HD textures might pull on your performance in ways the STEP guide could not have predicted. There are been quite a few posts of late involving Windows 8. You may be a pioneer in Skyrim and Windows 8 for the rest of us. -- As far as CTDs in a certain locale, this might be a result of something you removed but is still in the save you are using. There is more info on this in Bben's troubleshooting guide: http://s1.zetaboards.../4841774/1/#new --I can't be of much help with ENB, Parallax and NPC skin textures, but hopefully someone else can. Have you tried playing without Parallax Solitude to test your theory? -
@Bradster123456: Pick a save game from before you started the quest. Have this quest as the only active quest in your journal once you start the quest. Fast travel to every destination on the quest. When you get to Dragonbridge and talk to the guard, walk from the village to the marker where the overturned wagon is. I actually had the same bug the first time through. This is what got me through. Something about the fast travel worked, like it does for some of the other game quest bugs. If this doesn't work. You should probably post your mods in load order, if you need further help on a mod conflict. Also, do you have the unofficial skyrim patch and the unofficial dawnguard patch? It may not be necessary, but it might help. :) Try the fast travel first.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim folder. The file is SkyrimEditor. :turned:

Multicolored lines/bars/triangels in game.
Aliera Caine replied to Blacksmoke16's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Well, the best way to know if the problem is in your saves is to make a new character and save it in a new slot and test the game. Btw, since I bought DG, I have had one missing file that is never reacquired. Do you have Dawnguard? For me, the "missing" file doesn't seem to affect my game. -
Hey Advikis: Don't know about your Blackwidow keyboard. If you can't figure out how to configure it, you might take a look at this mod: http://skyrim.nexusm...com/mods/23416. It's "More HotKeys Please" and it might do the trick for you.

Well, I'll give this a go. The Way of the Voice called us to the study of the Thu'um. Before we took this path, many of us were adepts of the five schools of magic, trained even as initiates to draw Words along the sides of diagrams and seek patterns where they were none. Others were priests of Kyne gleaning the wisdom of the mountains. Some were hunters and soldiers who took the Thu'um as their bow and shield, a tool crafted to their talents. Understand, the Thu'um is a language, an ancient tongue whose Words have many meanings. Most phrases in Dovah are words full of power that lead nowhere. However, the long history of the Tongues marks the search for deeper significance and bears fruit in the discovery of the holy phrases that resonate with the earth and sky and the supreme being of Kyne. My time under Kyne's sky is nearing its end, naal suleyk do Shor. These notes represent the harvest of many years of mediation and contemplation: sixteen Shouts of power. A life's work, yet unfinished. I leave these Shouts to all with the potential to understand them. Use them wisely, for they are mighty indeed. Lok, Thu'um. You have a lot of visual enhancements on your list, which may be taxing your video card. First, run a verify cache through Steam to make certain you aren't missing anything from the vanilla game. You can test for the problem by disabling your mods in blocks and narrowing down the culprits if there is a conflict. Try to think of what you changed before this irregularity started occurring. However, I suggest that you take a look at this thread first: " http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11 " and download the information from the STEP project. It details a stable way of adding to the visuals of Skyrim. Hope your video card isn't dying. Happened to me with Oblivion three times. -
When you really want to start over from vanilla and add mods after helgen exit (which is a good practice), simply disabling the myriad mods which you do have won't really do the trick. You have to start from that sweet, pristine data folder that Bethesda hands you in the first place. Which means those mods have to be removed from your Skyrim folder, all scripts, textures, meshes, SEQ...the lot. Once you move them to a different location, run Steam Skyrim verify cache. Note: if you have Dawnguard, Steam might come back and say you have 1 file missing. It does that to me all the time, since DG, but I can't find that it makes a difference. Showracemenu can be touchy. Maybe someone else knows why. If you want to add your race mod at the beginning to avoid it, you can definitely go that route. When you start adding mods, run BOSS and test. Remember mod patches need to be added after the mod they affect or ctds will occur. And don't forget that some mods depend on other mods, so keep that in mind. Crazy bit of mind overload with a lot of mods, isn't it? Dirty Edits refers to using the tool TESVEdit. Wryebash is for the bashed patch and is a good tool for using a lot of mods. (I don't use it, but that's just me). If you don't want to start completely over, disable blocks of mods and test. If you can narrow down your ctds to a block of mods, you can zero in on the culprits, if it is indeed a mod conflict. If anyone else has further advice, please chime in. Wish you luck!

@AzzureReaper: Wow, nice long list. So I hope you ran BOSS for this. It should have given you some messages to help you here. I.E. only one active Cloaks esp. And perhaps other warnings. I have a few of these mods <yay, Much Ado!> but I can't help you with specific conflicts. You might want to pick the most likely suspects and test by disabling and slowly reenabling mods. It is a tedious process, but it works, except in the case of a corrupted save. Normally, it is best to begin by adding one mod at a time to Skyrim, test it, then add another. And always read descriptions, check mod forums for suspected conflicts, and try to keep updated. For instance, when 1.8 patch for Skyrim came out, many mods had to update as well in order to play well with the new patch. That takes time. For handy troubleshooting help you can check this site by one of our own Nexus moderators: bben's troubleshooting guide http://s1.zetaboards.../forum/1599113/ Oh, one more item. Skyrim is notorious for not handling multiple house mods well, unlike Oblivion, where a player could have almost as many as they wished. That would be an easy first test, disabling house mods and re-adding one by one.

Before you connect with Steam, make a copy of your data folder and rename it. That way, you can always go back to it. Although, if it wasn't working, you might not care about that.

@Luckyseven95: Bethesda had been working on memory optimization and general stability improvements with every patch. I can't begin to know what problems can be fixed in a 1.2 version. I do hope someone else can help you out. o_O

@Luckyseven95: Hi again. I see you have your HUD running now. That's good news. Questions for the new problem: You are still a low level character beginning the main quest with a visit to the Jarl of Whiterun, right? You only have three mods, correct? The first two are fine. Which Bethesda update are you running? The latest is the 1.8 patch, and Steam automatically downloads the patch when you bring up the Steam menu for Skyrim. Skyboost...that I am wondering about. The one on Nexus (r3 in the files tab) is dated Feb. 2012 and was pretty much outdated by patch 1.4. In fact, I don't think it has been updated at all for 1.6, 1.7. or 1.8. So that might be your problem. I can't be certain. But I've read the requests on the Skyboost forum for updates for new patches. You might want to test running it without Skyboost to see if that makes a difference.
