  1. Simply put, after this colossal stuff up, if all mod authors simply removed their mods and stopped modding entirely I would not blame them in the slightest. In fact I'd applaud them for one reason, theft is theft, no matter how you rationalise it. The creator or author of any mod has the right to decide where, how, and by whom it may be used or shared with. Mod authors are amongst the most talented, creative, and generous people on the planet and this is how they are repaid, not only by the thieves stealing their work, but Bethesda as well. Personally I feel that mod authors should simply remove or hide their work and cease releasing content. That would render this entire argument moot.

    Cheers, friend!

    Best of luck in your future endeavors.

    It is because of how this was done that my respect for Beth and Valve has been damaged and it is only with time and future experiences that this may improve.

    Let us not forget that Nexus supports all games now. There will always be new developers.

    But yes, you have people who don't understand at all what modding is about, who just behave like consumers in the worst way. They were very loud during the shitstorm. They are the same people who complain a lot on the comment section.

    I do believe this paying mod thing was a very bad idea, but I do show respect to all the time modders spent working to improve the game.

    So as im saying the Free community of mods would die out because no one wants crap quailty mods or mods that get uploaded then abandoned.

    I do support mod authors with a DONATE BUTTON but force me to pay for a mod that i can not test for more than 24 hrs hell no

    Sometimes it takes awhile to find out the mods broken right were it should shine.

    EDIT: Its fixed now btw and is an awesome mod.

    What a wonderful way to thank those who have contributed so much time and effort for the sake of others.

    The situation can be salvaged, its not just you that is feeling burnt about this. Alot of us contributed postively for years to mods. I don't want to see it destroyed by valve.

    At least hold out on getting better compensation.
    Varegi wrote: That makes sense in the one-person-does-it-all-mods. Yes this whole thing is a bloody gray area... Now what about the issues with bigger mods that involve a lot of people and possibly content from those smaller mods? Copyright stuff and all that.

    Yes it is a fact that many don't seem to care about the mods and modders, me included.
    Yet isn't it also a fact that modders know that their work would be underappreciated by many, and that there are buttholes around the globe that would whine endlessly on their comments section?

    Not expecting an answer from you to these, just throwing some thoughts here for no reason really.

    Dirve-by compliment incoming:
    Apocalypse and Wintermyst are awesome. Sincere thanks for those.

    I strongly agree with having more protection for mod authors. I say this because I have seen content being sold in Second Life where the "creator" has clearly just stolen the content and repackaged it as their "own." This is true for content hosted on the Nexus, as well as content stolen from the likes of Bethesda, CDProjeckt Red, Tera online and others. I hope that more will be done to protect the work of the mod authors who spend so much time and effort on their creations.
  5. As I've said before, the Nexus is an example of what should be occurring versus what really is. In most cases you get lacklustre service and disinterested 'experts' who are 'serving' your needs or 'providing' a 'service'. The Nexus quite simply, DELIVERS. They don't talk a good game, they get the job done for one simple reason. They CARE! Kudos to all of you for creating this phenomenon and for giving to us, the community. Thanks to you, we are able to call ourselves a community and not simply be another group of dissatisfied individuals. Thank you.
  6. First and foremost, thank you! Secondly, get some sleep! With regard to the past few days, Richard Branson is a good example; even though he didn't always instantly succeed,he did however pick himself up and give it another go. Your efforts and vision are greatly appreciated and I will always be extremely grateful for the dedication of all those responsible for the Nexus' existence.
  7. Read it,appreciated the post and information in it.

    Been a Nexus lover since I discovered it(not unlike discovering the Holy Grail on a personal level).

    I'm more than happy to be a premium member and keep supporting Nexus,due purely to the fact that you've gone out of your way to create an entity and service NOT focused exclusively on making money,but rather on creating and fostering a community for us who benefit from all the effort and dedication on the part of the Nexus staff.

    In short,thank you all and please don't stop doing what you're doing,because it makes Nexus the unique place it is.

  8. I would like to add my voice to those who have already thanked Dark0ne and the nexus team for a) offering us a superb site that normally runs flawlessly and

    b) working as hard as is humanly possible to get things sorted.

    As a long-time fan and user of the Nexus I am more than happy to wait while this is resolved. My thanks and deepest appreciation to everyone at the Nexus for the effort expended on behalf of the community and modders. Without the service provided by the Nexus we have nothing. So...Thank you most sincerely Dark0ne and the team!

  9. This is why a decade later Nexus is going from strength to strength and has the devoted following it has. Thank you Dark0ne,for everything you've done for the community and all Skyrim/Oblivion/Morrowind/DragonAge/Fallout etc players the world over. Nexus is the phenomenon it is thanks to you. As a Nexus devotee of some years now I can say that no other site matches it,in my opinion. Much appreciated! Cheers!
  10. Unlock Print Screen (PRTSCN) button

    There is a setting in the INI file:

    bAllowScreenShot=0

    change to:

    bAllowScreenShot=1

    Also, two related items for the screenshots:

    iScreenShotIndex=0

    SScreenShotBaseName=Oblivion

    There are two INIs, one in the game folder called "Oblivion_default.ini", this is the one it uses to generate the REAL one....

    My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Oblivion.ini

    Edit the first one if you want to default to having screenshots on by default for all users. The settings it uses at runtime are the ones from My Documents folder.

    After you mod the INI file, you can press PRTSCN button and Oblivion will write a BMP file to your game folder.
