Is it required to own skyrim and morrowind? (I do own the es anthology but I'm just curious)

Hi, I am going to make a small home near Riverwood and im going to have it fairly small with a blacksmith area outside and storage and other basic needs inside. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to make it a bit different to other homes in Riverwood? Or Ideas to improve it in general This will be my first player home so be nice:)
