  1. Hi, thanks. I did manage to make it work. I installed it to my SSD and removed the Anti-stutter remover. It now plays fine, even with the textures mods. :)
  2. Hi, So I've got Fallout 3 running with about 6 texture mods. Most are quite small - just weapon re-textures. The largest texture mod I have is NMC textures - The Maximum PACK. I'm running the game with FOSE with the stutter remover. The main exe is 4G LAA aware, as is FOSE. The only other mod is an ENB called 'Chromatic Melancholy'. Now with these installed, the game can run from anything from 30 mins to 45 or even an hour without crashing, then suddenly boom, a CTD. I know making the game completely crash proof is a long shot, but is there anyway to make it more stable? Before I built my new PC, I used the same mods, but without the ENB. Also, the NMC mod was either the Large or the performance version, not sure now. Anyway, it was more stable on the old PC. Is this down to the ENB or the NMC Maximum texture version? Specs: Intel i7 8700 16GB RAM GTX 970 4GB Windows 10 Home. Thanks in advance.
  3. Hi, Thanks for replying. NMM would have been easier I guess. I only installed a few texture mods, to make the game look a bit more modern. Anyway, I've fixed it now. There is a setting I missed, it adds the 'Archive invalidation' to the list. Once I enabled that, my mods started working
  4. Hi, Not my first time using vortex, I have mods that I have installed for Skyrim and they are working fine. I have downloaded a few texture mods for fallout 3. I have installed and enabled them in Vortex, but they aren't working. In the mods settings, the Mod Staging folder has been changed to C:\Vortex Mods. My Fallout 3 is also installed on the C:\ drive. I'm at a complete loss as to what to do. Is there a setting that I haven't enabled? As I said earlier, my Skyrim works fine. The only difference is that it is installed to D:\ drive. So what do I need to do??? Thanks in advance.
  5. Like I said, the GoG version without mods doesn't crash, it seems pretty stable. But not with mods. Thanks for the link. Will take a good look at the Crashes fix/reduce guide on there. Cheers.
  6. Update: Uninstalled and re-installed the Gog version of the game, this time placing the install outside of Program Files. My game is installed on my secondary hard drive. Checked my Fallout 3 ini file for the muti-core settings. It is set to: bUseThreadedAI=1iNumHWThreads=2 Indeed, this is automatically set up by the Gog version of the game. Installed Fose, installed the Anti-stutter mod. Installed and activated Ani-stutter. Downloaded and installed NMC texture Mod - the 'Performance' version. Ran the game via the FOSE Loader Walking back and forth from Super Duper Mart to Megaton. No crashes. Walked around Megaton, went in a few buildings. On my second attempt to enter Moira's, game froze on the loading screen and game randomly crashed to desktop. I'm running in 1920x1080 resolution. On the Nexus site there is loads of Mods for Fallout 3. Surely some people must be able to play it stable? I need further help please. Thanks,
  7. Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. I believe I downloaded the biggest one. Which one should I use for my system? I will uninstall the game and place it outside program files. Please get back to me. Cheers!
  8. Hi, I'm sure this has been asked hundreds of times on here, but here we go again. So, I've got a lovely copy of Fallout 3 from a sale on GoG.com. Great thing is, if you want to play the game vanilla with no mods, the Gog version works straight away on Windows 10, no need change any settings, well done GoG!. Of course, even if you run the game at 4K, it still looks pretty ugly these days. So, I thought I'd use Nexus mods and install the NMC texture pack to make the game at least look nicer and then maybe get some more mods to improve it's look. This worked, at least initially, game looks a lot better, but it keeps crashing, aagh! I tried FOSE and the Anti-stutter, game doesn't pause as much now, but it still crashes, seemingly and in random places. I tested this by just walking from Megaton to the Super Duper Mart. With the graphics mod installed, game crashes, without the mod it runs fine. The crash has no error, game just stops and drops back to Windows 10 desktop. So, how do I get to play this game with the graphics mods without it crashing? What do I need to do? My Specs Windows 10 64-bit AMD FX 8350 (not state of the art, but it should get the job done with this old game) 8GB DDR 2 GeForce GTX 970 4GB Thanks in advance.
