  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnDkviyPOwE This is honestly the most beautiful sword I've ever seen and I think it would make a wonderful addition to Skyrim. Thoughts?
  2. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2572 Knock yourself out. Remember that most music is copy righted, so you're probably not going to get exactly what you're looking for unless you do it yourself.
  3. Another thought too, if this mod has it's own magic chest, it could even save a .txt file with the item ID's so that the more tech savvy people can easily add/remove whatever items they want outside of the game. It could make testing out new weapon and armor mods even easier, maybe even quicker.
  4. I was unable to get this to work, but it seems like it's just another form of a portable chest. What I'm looking for is something that essentially replaces the function of Take, Take All, Steal, and Steal All commands with a function that puts those items directly into a chest, much like Super Storage which is a magic spell, instead of going straight into your inventory. I would imagine something like this will require SKSE64 scripting. Thanks for the suggestion though. *EDIT: This mod could even have a MGM menu that could enable/disable the mod, or even select what chest, or magic spell, you want the looted items to go to.
  5. As a pack rat, I would like to say that it sucks having to spend 50% of my game play sorting out my inventory. I think it would be extremely helpful having a mod like Super Storage, which is a magic spell that opens a storage chest, and have all looted items simply go there instead of in your inventory. This way your characters weight isn't getting hit and you can travel light which makes it easier to access items when needed. Then when you're ready to sell or picked up something worth keeping, you just open up your magic storage chest and do what you do. The inner pack rat in all of us will finally be free to run wild! Sure it would be lore breaking, somewhat, but who really cares? I want this, come on!
  6. I was wondering if anyone has made, or is interested in making, a mod that makes eclipses random. When an eclipse does happen, vampires, draugr, werewolves, vampire lords, and all sorts of other crazy stuff starts attacking you from all directions. I think the eclipse event should only last a certain amount of time, not the whole day (skyrim time), and should happen as frequent as 1-2 times a week (again skyrim time).
  7. Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking about. If you put the torch back, it would pause the stage of that torch. This mod would certainly need SKSE as I'm sure a fair amount of scripting would be involved. So like maybe, stage 1 would be max brightness that lasts 5 minutes, stage 2 80% for 5 minutes, stage 3 60% 2 1/2 minutes, stage 4 40% for 2 minutes, stage 5 for 1 minute, or however it would best work out.
  8. Would anyone be able and willing to make a mod for torches that dims the light torches emit as they burn out? Or has this already been done?
  9. It always bothered me that during morning and evening hours that the sun's rise and decent colors shows 360 degrees on the horizon, when in reality, this doesn't occur and would closer resemble perhaps 1/4 of the horizon, on the proper side of course. Has this been done yet? Is anyone skilled enough to tackle this one? I'm not.
  10. I do and I don't. Right now, I don't, but I did use USKP for a long while. This problem still occurred, although not as often. The courier and fugitives still stopped me dead in my tracks.
  11. .....Well, idk about during combat, but the courier still stops you dead in your tracks to talk to you. I guess the most annoying aspect of this is having control taken away from me. I still want to be able to move around a fight if need be while the dialog is happening.
  12. Huh, that's really odd. I have the Unofficial Skyrim Patch installed and this still happens. I'm going to try that mod out real quick....
  13. I like the idea of couriers sending the dragonborn mail for quests, but what I don't like is that the jerk stops everything you're doing to have a conversation while doing it. This is especially bad when you're smack dab in the middle of a fight and this idiot pulls you aside while your enemy beats the crap out of you. Can anyone make something to make the courier say something like "Here ya go" with out stopping you while proceeding to give you your mail?
  14. I have the exact same issue. I've completely overhauled Skyrim's music and this is extremely annoying. The only way I've found to stop the noise is to save, then reload your save. My best guess is that Skyrim's engine is to blame. If you listen to Skyrim's vanilla music, you might notice that with the way they have it laid out, one track is actually split up for certain "triggers", I call it. So say a battle is about to happen, the game will play the battle track, then once you win, the game will trigger the ending of said battle theme from a different track while "fading" from the actual battle theme to it's ending. I believe it's the fading part that's glitching out when you have tracks that are different file sizes and lengths of the vanilla music. So to sum up, say if a vanilla track is 35mbs in size and 2 min in length and your mod for that same track is 64mbs in size and 5 min in length, the game thinks it should be ending the track at a certain point but the song is too long. It's confusing and hard to put into words, but that's why I think this is happening. I think if someone would come up with a patch to tell Skyrim to just play the track to it's end before switching tracks, that would solve our problem.
  15. Thanks for sharing your experience, it put everything in perspective for me. Consider the subject dropped. Merry Christmas Eve & Merry Christmas all.
  16. Woah woah, maybe I didn't word that right. I'm asking what if I make my own music, that is NOT a cover of or in anyway related to an original piece, but gives the same feeling. And what I meant by the PS3 reference is that in that game they did something like that which avoids any copyright issues. I'm not talking about taking the Zelda theme and reworking it and calling it my own nor did I ever say anything about a mod for PS3, I was just using it as an example to get a better understanding of the rules, which I'm trying to respect. Sorry if they aren't perfectly clear to me like they are for you.
  17. Just a thought while I've got ya'll's attention. What if I put my musician skills to the test, hop on FL Studio and create variations that resemble, but aren't blatant remakes of the original copyrighted material? Could I then bypass any sort of legality issues and host the mod on your site? I know 3D Dot hero's on the PS3 got away with this without so much as glance.
  18. I've removed the file, I apologize. I get your point bben46. Heck, as a musician myself, I like getting paid, but I think the line between theft and usage should be redefined a little. I feel a musicians main source of income should be for concerts, not by digital copy distribution. Yeah, sell CD's as collectors items and make a few bucks on the side, but as a listener, the artist should be more than happy that we enjoy their music. That's all I ever asked for when playing shows as well as my band mates. I digress. Regardless of how I feel this is your house and I humbly ask forgiveness.
  19. I've also stumbled upon the Fair Use Policy.... http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl102.html Plus this article breaks it down in layman's terms for me and anyone else... http://socialtimes.com/fair-use-youtube_b61891 1.) The purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes 2.) The nature of the copyrighted work 3.) The amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole 4.) The effect of the use upon the potential market for, or value of, the copyrighted work So.................. 1.) The purpose of this mod is for nonprofit. No harm being done to their wallets. 2.) The nature of the content is to express and enhance immersion to a game. For example, The Legend of Zelda's main theme on the NES gives the listener a feeling of adventure, and reminds the listener of playing a Zelda game. In which case, would actually serve more to make someone want to play Zelda rather than Skyrim, or at the very least be more like free advertisement than an infrigement. So no harm there. 3.) The mod as a whole isn't solely based off of one game, it's a collage of other songs from numerous games. I don't see any harm on this one. 4.) This one's pretty much like #2. It's paying homage to the original and in no way can ever replace the original games by music alone. Final Fantasy will always be Final Fantasy better than Skyrim can ever be Final Fantasy and the same goes for all the other games.
  20. I thought I had this down, I apologize, but now I've stumbled upon another conflict. I failed to see this..... http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Illegal_Music_Pack_Uploads_and_You My mod consists of about 98% cover songs. Copyright laws on covered material , after much google...ing?, seems to be a sort of a grey area. Voices of the Lifestream, claims that their work is "Free", http://ff7.ocremix.org/ and they distribute their work freely on their website. http://ff7.ocremix.org/tracks/ Upon checking their Content Policy, here ........... http://ocremix.org/info/Content_Policy .......... it seems that I am able to distribute their content provided I give the proper credit as written on the Content Policy. ZREO, which seems to have recently gone defunct, does the same thing as Voices of the Lifestream on their website as well... http://www.zreomusic.com/ The rest of the mod consists of sound fx, which is comparable to any of the various armor mods from other video games floating around, and shouldn't pose as a problem. Only two game titles were used, Final Fantasy VII and Zelda: Ocarina of Time. So my question now is, are covers acceptable?
  21. Ah I see, I forgot about Open Sources. Okay. Guess I'll just have to retrace my steps, cross my T's and dot my I's. Thank you Dark0ne.
  22. I've been kickin' myself in the rear now that I'm getting close to finishing it. Hmmm, I might just try to upload it, and make sure I notate my apologies for not asking first, and give credit where credit's due. Now I shouldn't have to worry about piracy because all of the music files have been heavily edited in Audacity by myself, and converted to .xwm files. I still have some things to touch up here and there on the mod, but I figure I'd ask while nearing the final stages than ask later. Plus, no offense PaganWitcher, but I'd like to get a moderator's/admin's thoughts before doing so if they have the time. Thanks for your post, though, it's helping me make a decision.
  23. I have read the Terms of Service, and even a pinned topic regarding the matter, but I still have a question. I have a music and sound mod that I've been working on for Skyrim for about 6 months now, and most, if not all, of the files include work from other video games, such as the Final Fantasy series, Zelda Franchise, Castlevania series, and a few other retro-style games that date back 10 or more years ago. However, most of these works aren't the originals, but remakes of the classic music. Basically, should I get permission from, say, Nobuo Uematsu for the Final Fantasy songs, or the artists from Voices of the Lifestream, Both, or just forget asking for permission altogether but still post credit? Because quite honestly, I don't know what to do. It would be a lot easier for me to simply post credit without asking in the mod description and note that if any author of the songs simply have to request removal and it will be so. Due to the nature of the mod I'm making, there's A LOT of permission to ask.
  24. Nope, I've modded everything in the "ui" folder. I'm begging to think it's part of the game itself or something. Like, it can't be modded.
