  1. maybe you should try Swiss chalet's checkin, now thats checkin. i think there take outs cheaper to.

I think there are Swiss chalet restaurants in the states to.

Swiss Chalet's chicken isn't anything out of the ordinary, in my opinion.

I like it, especially the dipping sauce, but SC chicken is extremely salty (even for me, which is saying a lot).

  2. While that mod is good in its own right, the notes for the mod do not suggest that it includes any of the armors I specifically mentioned.

While it does add in some of the "hidden" SI content, it doesn't actually include HGEC versions of the SI armor sets (Amber, Madnes, Seducer or Saint), which is what I have been hoping to find.

Actually, the notes refer to the "Exnem Stock Clothing and Armor Replacer by Grhys", which does modify those armors, implying the linked mod does as well.

  3. Yeah... I've come to the conclusion that the lag I mentioned is probably unrelated. (I turned off grass a long time ago... it was a huge performance killer for me).

However I've decided the all-alpha texture might not be the best method to achieve my goal, so...

You can delete objects entirely from their list BUT THIS MAY CAUSE PROBLEMS. I haven't tried this at all yet so use discretion and ask around about it (unless someone posts the answer here...I thank anyone who does).

I've tried this with the fx in question (6 in all), and after a couple hours of play-testing, all seems well. It makes more sense to me this way, because the objects shouldn't even be used (thinking that an object with a blank texture would still use some system resources). There should be error checking code for handling missing object references (for mod removal...) so I'm thinking this should be stable and my ideal solution.

    :)

  4. Thanks CloudLevi, but I'm not looking to edit the fog out object by object, region by region.

    Update:

I've noticed some stuttering in places I never did before (in rain? near a fire...?). I'm thinking I might have to undo the change because this might be worse.

  5. Good suggestion... but I was already on that track (after looking at the Let there be Darkness mod). It modifies (among other things) the meshes for a number of \Dungeons\Misc\FX\ effects. Using the modded nif's didn't work for me so I downloaded NIFScope so I could look inside the meshes and then...

Success! I found the texture I needed to find. After blanking it (all alpha), all the offending fog disappeared within the dungeons. :) I don't know yet just how much this will help, or if any other things will be affected by this change, but so far so good.

Thanks again for all the posts with ideas.

For those interested, it is textures\dungeons\misc\atmospherecloud01.dds

(Note: the web textures mentioned above are in the same folder...).

  6. I was beginning to wonder if I was going to get any answers. :)

I've checked all the game's settings and couldn't find anything related to environmental fog.

COBL's readme mentions an Nvidia fog fix, but my card is ATI. :\ I might check it out anyways.

I've downloaded "Let there be Darkness" and will take a peek inside to see if there's anything in there that will help me.

    Thanks again.

Aside: I've removed all the cob webs (replaced with all alpha textures) which helps quite a bit in some areas.

  7. Can anyone point me in the right direction for what I need to change to remove the grey fog seen in some dungeons (and the orange fog in some oblivion caves)? My video card stutters when in such environments so I'm hoping there is an ini setting, or a global setting somewhere that I can change (vs. region by region editing... which I'm not likely to do).

Thanks in advance for any tips.

    :)

  8. A few by Terry Goodkind:

“Morality comes from the top, such as parent to child… You can never stop all wrongdoing, but if you don’t punish it, then it proliferates until anarchy wears the robes of tolerance and understanding.”

“Mind what people do, not only what they say, for deeds will betray a lie.”

"Reason is a choice. Wishes and whims are not facts, nor are they a means to discovering them."

“You must find within yourself the ability to help yourself… only in that way can you truly succeed in life.”

  9. With my first character, I must have just levelled unlocking a new beast type. I was spellunking in a random ruin, sneaking around backstabbing baddies as I go, making quick progress and collecting loot. I round a corner and peer into a room... and from behind a pillar a terrifying sight steps forth: a huge muscle bound snarling Minotaur. Mood lighting, creepy music, imposing enemy... I thought I was going to be pummeled. *gulp*

It turns out the battle wasn't as difficult as I feared, but first setting eyes on that beast sure made my heart race... :)

  10. If you count a dedicated console, I had a Pong type game (with different settings: speed, paddle size, PvC, PvP, PvP with two paddles each...). The first multi-game system I had (many, many years later) was an original Nintendo... with Mario3 (just how does a racoon tail enable flight? ;) ).
  11. If you don't consider a dedicated Pong type console (no cartridge... a dedicated unit for the one game), then the first console I owned was the original Nintendo. A couple years later I picked up a Sega Genesis... and haven't bought a console since (I prefer PC gaming now).
  12. I'm probably going to catch some flak for this but here goes...How about Deus Ex: Invisible War?

I'd certainly say this is a top candidate for the worst sequel ever... To tell the truth, I only played the demo, but my complete disappointment in it left an ill taste in my mouth for months. Such a fantastic game spawned a completely unworthy sequel (obviously suffering from consolitis). Very sad.
