Anyone tried SKYRIM PERFORMANCE BOOSTER by Jenna Watson?
Grogthenailer replied to Grogthenailer's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Hmm ok. I have downloaded literally hundreds of mods and always check what people are saying about them, I have not seen once where that has been disabled until now, just found it weird. -
What do you want in a new overhaul mod?
Grogthenailer replied to Arrogancy's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Hmmm ok. I guess I am addressing that archery does not address aiming that well really. Which is the meat of archery. It tends to have very little to do with aiming and many other considerations of archery. I guess I wanted to address some aspects of it, strength/stamina part, accuracy and arrow dynamics. -

Point taken, I was a bit vague eh, I will try to explain one tree (Archery) where I believe many players love to use bow/xbows and like that part of the gameplay. What you have with current archery is that you really do not have a good clear accuracy range. You have things like zoom in but does that really help with accuracy? (looks cool though). I also tend to lean towards realism in combat so that is very important to me. Ok so archery: Archery: I would like to see 3 branches – Force - Speed - Accuracy. Force: The amount of damage done on hit, force of the blow. Things you would have in this branch of it, It would flow like this part of the tree: 1. A)Stamina Used to draw string (adding points here means you can hold string back longer and not tire as fast) EG - 0 points here means you will tire very quickly drawing string, 1 point means you will not drain stamina as fast (25% less), this would go to 75% or so, (you would always use some stamina to pull back) last part might be ability to use heavy bows B) Above this in the same branch is damage. 1st part: Chance to stagger+damage - 2nd part: an increase over part 1 - 3rd part: same -4th part: damage + knockdown - 5th part: damage + knockdown+heavy armor piercing Speed: The speed you draw an arrow (or load xbow). The speed you move with drawn bow, distance arrow flies: A) 1st part: Draw arrow 10% faster to ready (able to shoot) (can never fire an arrow unless it is in ready position) - 2nd part: Draw arrow 25% faster to ready - 3rd part: Draw arrow 50% faster to ready. Of course you could in differences between light and heavy bows (and consider Xbows). Now add how fast you can move with bow sets of points. Finally the distance+speed arrow can fly Accuracy: A) Sway of bow: How much bows sways when aiming - 3-5 points - each points lesson sway B) Aiming recticle - think of a circle, or like a modern shooter. It expands while moving and lessons while standing still. It never goes to a pin point. The arrow within this circle can go any where within this circle(random) but it has to go with the circle. So the smaller the circle, the better the chances of a good and solid hit. Points added will decrease circle -
What do you want in a new overhaul mod?
Grogthenailer replied to Arrogancy's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The difficulty level is going to be one of the hardest to nail down, there is mods like High Level Enemies but an overhaul can do much more in that regard as you can control all apsects. One thing have wondered is a multiple pyramid approach. So like this: Levels 1 - 10 Levels 11 - 20 levels 21-30 Level 31-40 Etc. Difficulty changes on this sliding scale. level 1 hard = level 10 easier, level 11 hard, level 20 easier, so it moves as you level back and forth. The game text could tell you "you are more well-known, tougher enemies seek you out" or something like that when you ding level 11, then as you scrape by at level 11 and get to 15 you will do better, at level 20 it would easier (not easy-mode) At level 21, rinse lather repeat This is one way. Or Could have a pure deleveled world BUT areas/quests and enemies are explicitely shown so there is no guess work. -
What do you want in a new overhaul mod?
Grogthenailer replied to Arrogancy's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Hi Arrogancy, I looked at your spreadsheet, read this thread and have to say I am excited about the possibility of a new Overhaul in the works. It is sorely needed and I am behind you 100%. There is really only two Overhauls (Skyre and Requiem) and a new one has not been released in years, I like your vision of what you want. There is definitely room for this and actually I think it is really needed. This is a great idea and it is due. I am late to the conversation here but just saw this and knew I had to respond. There will and would be a lot of interest in this and besides that the journey to make it come to life is most of the fun right ? I have spent countless hours trying every mod under the sun, be it Requeim, Skyre or any mod. Seeing what meshes and does not. Lots of mods can be put together for piecemeal overhauls but it is not the same, a new overhaul is definitely the way to go. I like to tweak and see how A works with B all in the pursuit of the best Skyrim I can have. I have zero skills making mods but I have a persistent need to tweak. At any rate here are some ideas for the overhaul that I would like. This will be generalized as I think that’s what you want in this thread, drilling down into details is something that can done be as well but I think you are asking just our general impressions of what we want to see in an overhaul. Ok so: Deleveled enemies or partly? Deleveled is good if you have some direction, (can’t accept certain questions or know to stay in an area or avoid others until stronger) I hate banging my head against a wall when not having any sense of what I can take on or not (and a waste of time) You could also build your overhaul to go well with other mods ( Immersion) Frostfalla – Ineed, Wet and Cold so it takes away the hassle to build one yourself. Some mods you can just incorporate and ask to install with yours) Most do any way. Find your top mods you want to have in this overhaul perhaps and have them be compatible out of the box to save time. Combat: I prefer tough but fair. I prefer Requiems combat over Skyre. I prefer a lean towards more hardcore combat but not ridiculous hardcore that is fun breaking. I will just go through some trees quickly (at work right now so rushing this a bit) Archery: I would like to see 3 branches – Force - Speed - Accuracy Force: The amount of damage done on hit, force of the blow Speed: The speed you draw an arrow (or load xbow). The speed you move with drawn bow, distance arrow flies Accuracy – how accurate you aim is...starting out would cause lots of sway and/or your recticle changes in size so you shot anywhere within that reciticle, think of modern shooters and their reciticles Bocking: 3 branches – Defense – Offense – Fitness Defense branch handles the defensive aspects of the shield, how much it mitigates, how much stam used, versuses arrows – heavy weapons – light weapons - magic Offense – Using shield as weapon – bashing – reflection – drop weapons – kill shot at 20% etc Just some ideas, having a short period of time to type so have to go for now. I really hope you move forward with your plans dude. Will check this thread later tonight at home -
Light orange boxes with check marks in Wrye bash
Grogthenailer replied to Grogthenailer's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Thanks guys, that did it! Man-hugs to both of you. -
So I have some checked boxes in Wrye Bash after my rebuild of a bash patch. I just had reinstalled the game and started new, added some requiem patches for Complet Crafting Overhaul and Immersive Weapons/armors for this new play-through. I also used LOOT (BOSS replacement) and my game started up fine and started a new game. These little boxes with check marks in them are a light orange color. They are: Requiem - Immersive Armors.esp Requiem - Immersive Armors - Addon.esp Requiem - Immersive Weapons.esp Requiem - WAF+Clothing and Clutter Fixes Patch.esp Requiem - Dragonborn - CCOR Patch.esp Requiem - CCOR Patch.esp Requiem - CCOR Patch - Hearthfires.esp Requiem - Dragonborn.esp So these above all have a light orange box (with check mark). What causes this and should I be worried? Will it screw something up? My game seems to be playing ok (new game with Requiem) but I did notice the imperial sword was really low damage ( all others are fine though) Can anyone offer some assistance or some suggestions (or explanation) Thank you Edit *** I used the help part in Wrye and seen this in help section for colors ( box was light orange): The install is dirty. This will occur for packages for which the configuration has been altered (either by altering active sub-packages and esmps, or by altering the package itself). This can be repaired by running Anneal or Anneal All. I do not know, Anneal is what?

LE Mod Request - Moving Archery / Magic aiming icon
Grogthenailer posted a topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Here is what I envision using a bow (or magic I guess). The aim icon is usually small, I would love a mod that makes it bigger to start with and smaller as you get perks to assist or make aiming more accurate. While aiming with this new icon ( think of a fps shooter when aiming) the aim icon would be like the size of a half-dollar coin on your screen, if moving it gets bigger than that, the arrow then goes into a random spot within that circle. When sneaking and stationary it could be the size of a quarter. Of course those are example measurements. Perks would make these the aim icon smaller with more perks but never smaller than a dime. I do not think I have seen an aim mod like this and actually might be a great addition to iHud ( or someone make it as I believe it would be very popular. -
What do you look for in a Mod? (University Research)
Grogthenailer replied to Xalchs's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Q) The first sub question i'd like to ask is what draws you towards a mod? Is it the name that attracts you? Perhaps its the Bio? I'd love to know just for basic marketing research. What is it that makes you want to read more about a mod. A) The name attracts me, something that is clear but interesting but being clear on what it does will make me click Q) The second question i'd like to ask is what type of mod do you usually look for? is it an expansion? Perhaps a quest? or something that updates the games quality of life? A) Something that updates the games quality of life, or makes it look better. I always click on new combat mods, either overhauls or mechanics, same with perk mods. Total game overhauls are few though, which sucks, would like to see someone do another one day that they envision. Q) And finally i'd like to ask what do you look for the most in a mod? Is it humor? Action? Story? Game benefits? References? For me its always game benefits, what enhances the game for me, what makes it better than Vanilla, what makes it looks better, what makes it run better, what gives the best gameplay. -
Anyone know if it has been abandoned? Been a long time since I even heard about it but thought originally it would of been awesome. I suspect it is not being released now?

Sorts them wrong. Plus, has BOSS been updated lately?

Mod Request - Your Character Audio The one thing you never hear in Skyrim is your own character talk or make noises. On a kill shot with a bow for example it would be nice if your character said something badass. This is a big oversight from the makers I believe. There is no mod for it which is surprising as it would be very popular I am sure. Examples: Kill Skot statements ( with bows, Melee weapons, magic) Draw weapon Statements (various) Hot key that makes your character say various things Opening attacking statement Yell Mad scream Gurgling death when your char dies so forth and so forth This what is missing from Skyrim that no one has done, could be pretty immersive and I am pretty sure...very popular

Anyone know what causes this, if killed by like a bandit, many times sent flying like 300 feet into sky or into wall ( seems like even through wall) Know what might be causing this? I do have Requiem installed.

Phenderix Magic Evolved Thoughts - Need Suggestions
Grogthenailer replied to phenderix's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Dont think anyone does this (idea) anyway. Here goes: Most magic mods have a s#*! ton of spells and the majority are not used. Here is what I would like to see in a magic mod. Each perk tree talent is a spell. They are unlocked that way. The 4-5 trees (example Destruction) would have a spell you unlock going up the tree, each spell could have 3 total strengths. So this would be a spell mod meshed with perk mod where you do not use books to learn a spell, you use the talent trees. There could be 3-5 books in the whole game that have do have really epic spells but very hard to come by or find or win. -
December 24th? That is so many shades of awesome if you can pull that off, very cool !

Curious as to the possibility of a dead is dead mod. I cannot visualize how it might work or implement but it would be pretty damn awesome if the following could happen: Example: You die at level 7 Mod deletes all saved game files including quick saves and exports stats to a website that shows time of death, level and what killed you. That would be awesome
